Interesting ... I was thinking I have enough RX470 cards ... and maybe time for a little Nvidia mining.

They're quite a price, but also have good resale value, will be interested to see what you get out of it when it's up and running.

Actually I also think that it's about time to run Nvidia gpu in the daily usage rig, I have a farm with 41 RX gpu and another one with 17 GPU.
My daily rig at home running Dual RX480 all GPUs already ROI'd so it is not bad to test the other camp, not sure if I should do dual 1070 or single 1080.

go big  get the 1080 ti Grin

over 700h  when pushed
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGXZDQYEN_w
I love the idea of having that top dog inside my gaming rig especially since it is paying for it self so I can justify the price, however I can't justify spending big box for reference cooling, in a week or two there will be better offerings with 30-50$ more

then you should wait  as the 1080 ti  can do well over 700 h

or on a low clock 600 and 200 watts.

I do have the

msi red led on auto notify---------  I like the rx 480 versions of it. I have 9
asus strix 3 fan on auto notify---- I like the rx 480 version of  it.  I have 6

I have 2 empty boards  waiting for cards.  If I were to get 5 1080 ti's  they would be close to 3500h

You mean those Red LEDs ?

No Sir, i dont know them . I have 5 rigs of 7 GPUs RX480 Gaming X , Best RX GPU . I have had 40 Nitro's 470 Upgraded to 480 MSI X. Better than 480 Nitro+ , better than RX480 Devil , and better than Strix and XFX.

Try to Hunt Evga GPUs , Best customer support and RMA service .

Personally i am limited to Amazon since it is the only store that ships to Egypt and pay all the customs and tax and in advance and deliver to your door step without headache .
Currently amazon options = none .

got my ASUS ROG STRIX-GTX1080-A8G-GAMING

OC to 2000 core and 5000 ram...getting only ~560 sols, driver 375.95, EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner 0.3.3b

zotac 1080 AMP extreme is coming by tomorrow.

I was expecting ~600 sols..

still looking for best drivers and settings, tweaks..

maybe that zotac will be my last 1080...will try 1080ti ~700+ sols is far from ~560 sols

yeah the 1080 ti  seems to be a lot better

11/8 = 1.375   x 560 = 770

the max  I have seen for a 1080 ti was 746 on the youtube link.

looks like it is simply a case of more ram  11 gb for the the 1080ti  vs 8gb for the 1080

I am going to slowly add up to four cards  over the next 2 months or so.

playing with asus OC..i was able to see instances of ~590-600 sols but stability has not been tested yet...

zotac amp extreme has a higher factory clock and bigger cooler...might get stable at 600 sols minimum.

anyway it's nice trying nvidia and seeing huge hashes for a single card Cheesy.... excited to try 1080 ti..

we are at the same phase..will add slowly 1080 ti in 2 months..1080 ti's are quite expensive (that makes the upgrade a bit slow)

seems too low hashes for 1080 ti (640 sols?)...i think i may get the my 1080 here stable at ~590-600 sols

using EWBF here, not NiceHash Excavator

Some advice on Zec. The cap is small and nvidia could pump the coin easy to sell the 1080ti.

So buying some Zec could be wise

Yeah and it is about max hash per. Watt

So trying to find max hash was not what they were trying to do.

Still 600 h at 200 watts is very good.

Also only one slot.

My pandaminer would do around 2200 to 2300 using 1100 watts.

Three of these should do about 2000 h at 700 watts

Price would be lower the the older b1 pandaminer

Newbie question - but why ZEC only?

nvidia  whales on zec  far better then amd

more hash less power.

at best amd is 2 h per 1 watt

nvidia is 3 h per watt

or
.500 watts a h for amd     doing zec
.333 watts a h for nvidia  doing zec

it is a clearcut winner  for zec.

found a deal on a zotac 1080

http://www.ebay.com/itm/381941454927?

it is 489 newegg is the eBay seller

the same card on newegg is  529

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500414

I paid a lot less as I had 265 in ebucks  so I got a 1080 for around 255 out of pocket as I paid 34 in tax

this is the shortest 1080 card on the market.

I think I will be able to squeeze 3 cards on one of my biostar z170's

I now have a zotac 1080 ti and a zotac 1080  on order

so at this point the 1080 ti and the 1080 were about 985 out of pocket.

in theory i will do about 1100-1200 h  and maybe 375-425 watts

planned in buying that zotac 1080 mini but backed out because I've seen a youtube video comparing it to galax HOF, temps of that zotac mini is ~20c more

will wait for your hashrate on your zotac mini 1080 card...will the temp get better with under volting, down clocking and still get good hashrates.

So  Phil  you have those  6 slot biostar rigs correct?

You could do slot  1 and slot 4 and slot 6.

A full sized  blower style  1080 ti  slot one

A full sized blower style   1080 ti slot four

The short  style              1080  slot six

that would let you run  fairly cool  and riser free with a small sized build.

Maybe 700 + 700 + 600 = 2000 h for zec

we will see how this works out.

@ theyankeeswin

yeah

  slot 1------     slot 2------      slot 3 -----    slot 4-----   slot 5 ----- slot 6

1080ti ________empty______empty _____1080ti ____empty ____ mini 1080

this is the plan.

I have a psu and a booster mobo ready for the cards.

I have one 1080 on order
I have one 1080 ti on order
I don't need the second  1080 ti to see if this will work.

If I put the 1080 ti in slot 4
and the mini 1080 in slot six  and it gets too hot  I know it won't work.

my zotac 1080 ti is  10.50 inches long

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2W05HP0222

Form Factor & Dimensionsh
Max GPU Length
267 mm
Card Dimensions (L x H)
10.50" x 4.38"
Slot Width
Dual Slot

the mini is  8.31 inches
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500414

Form Factor & Dimensions
Max GPU Length
211 mm
Card Dimensions (L x H)
8.31" x 4.92"
Slot Width
Dual Slot

I believe this will allow full air  for the longer 1080ti

so goal would be 610 + 610 + 480 = 1700 at 540-600 watts
look at the z170 from biostar below

Newegg has this in stock

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125954

So I now have these 3 cards on order

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125954    Aorus 1080 ti             net cost    760  taxes

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500414   Zotac 1080 mini          net cost    260  on ebay with ebucks

https://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?name=ZT-G1080TF                           Zotac 1080 ti              net cost   706  after a 2 %  discount.

______________________________________________________________________________ Total =  1726

I am hoping  for 1700h  at  545 watts

this would be  around  15 usd a day  and use 14 k-watts a day  my summer rates are nuts  once I adjust for cooling cost  I push  19 cents.  so that is 2.80 a day

15.00  -2.80 = 12.20 a day   profit with 19-20 cent power will be possible  that is a 150  day pay back
