man, seems like bitcoin is crashing continuously. I know it was $9 steady not long ago and its not even below 9 now but why the sudden drop from 30? I noticed a lot of negative media coverage with ties to silk road etc.. could it be that we have an army of trolls on this forum warping the image of bitcoin security with fake posts?

Has anyone even considered the possibility of highly organized social engineering and manipulation of bitcoin for various hidden agendas?

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

I heard it was two nefarious groups:

Buyers

and

Sellers

What can be done? I suggest we ban all markets until this obvious collusion is disbanded!

(Yeah, I'm being sarcastic.)

Yes, it may have already happened durrig the big drop. LulzSec sent a tweet at the bottom of the market with instructions to buy BTC while the "morons" were in a panic. That was the same weekend when a flood of new accounts showed up saying the sky was falling.

There indeed  has been a lot of bad attention to bitcoin, drugs, money laundering, the recent thefts. and a lot more FUD and lies too being spread.
People, specially those with large stashes and thieves will cash out, it was never their goal to establish a stable future currency, all they want is quick money.

Nope, pretty sure it's an Illuminati/CIA/FBI co-conspiracy, the same one that faked the moon landings, shot Kennedy, set up 9/11 and faked the Osama bin Laden assassinations. I also forgot to take my meds today.
