I am not sure about this, but can a 14-year old be arrested and detained by the cops in the United States? I believe that he is in a juvenile detention facility right now, and may be let off after a "severe" warning.

They really need to change that. Some crimes (rape and murder for example) must be punished regardless of the perpetrator's age. Detain them in a facility for minors till they reach legal age and then move them to a regular prison after that.

And I think that it is not necessary to put in prison. Need him to rape and to show video online. Then he never more in life will not do any evil. I, too, was once 14 years old, but I thought what I was doing.

Is there anyway that the ones who watched but didn't report be identified, They should be all arrested and charge for being accessory to rape.

I'm not sure about how police really get info through Facebook but they probably contact them, FB is not able to know who's watching live videos but who knows, they might keep the data for themselves. If that's the case, It could be possible to retrieve those data but I doubt they will provide them to the police as this will only prove that they are collecting info about users behind their backs.

As long as they caught the culprit thats what matters the most. I think he should be tried as an adult. If you are horny go find a prostitute rather than rape someone what's wrong with some people at all.
