I have read a little bit about ripple, and it looks like, that banks all over the world joining ripple.

What do you think, is it possible, that Ripple can be bigger (or even much bigger like with a 100 billion marketcap) than bitcoin?

Because i dont know what this (already over 90) banks will make with the price?
I cant really say it, will buy these banks all ripple, or will buy the people of this banks ripple?
How will be the effect on the price when the advertising from the banks will start?

Here are some news from the last days:

The biggest bank of japan (the 3th largest in the wolrd!) joined ripple
"U.S. startup Ripple will provide blockchain technology. Joining BTMU are Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Standard Chartered Bank of the U.K., Royal Bank of Scotland, Spain's Banco Santander, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and Australia's Westpac Banking. About 90 banks in all could participate in the new service, according to Ripple."

http://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Deals/Japan-s-BTMU-plans-international-fund-transfers-via-blockchain-in-2018

The bank of Englang also joining.
"The Bank said that its aim with Ripple is to "show how this kind of synchronisation might lower settlement risk and improve the speed and efficiency of cross-border payments."

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2017/03/17/bank-england-trials-artificial-intelligence-blockchain-bid-stay/
http://www.bankingtech.com/775302/bank-of-england-teams-with-ripple-for-cross-border-payments/

Ripple is working with more than 90 banks, over 10 of which have already implemented Ripple’s technology in production –- meaning that it already facilitates real transactions
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-03-20/sending-money-overseas-to-get-faster-once-banks-pick-a-winner

47 "small" japenese banks also joined.

SBI Ripple Asia, a joint venture between Ripple and Japanese financial services giant SBI Holdings, launched the pilot program in October 2016 with a consortium of 42 member institutions, including both brick-and-mortar and online banks. After a trial run, some 47 banks are now set to bring Ripple’s cloud-based payments platform to the masses.

Ripple is a crypto currency who is compliant with banks requirements, everything is transparent (at least for the accounts) and it is centralized, there is no coin generation or anything, just a central authority who emmits money, like central banks do.
It is totally possible/normal for them to work with bank institutions because of the traçability of the funds.
In other words, XRP is a FIAT currency in the form of a crypto currency.

What he said above, plus, there is no point to invest other than investing as a gamble. This token exists and its open to the public just as a milking machine for ripple, so it can make money by dumping more tokens on the market whenever they want. Ripple wins, banks win ( assuming ripple is useful to them, and not just as a testing platform ) and greater fools aka investors, lose.

What does "joined Ripple" mean? Are those banks using the public RCL? What are their issuing account IDs? Do they use XRP? What does their workflow look like? How much payment volume do they run through RCL per day? Unless these questions are answered, this news announcement is nothing but HYPE.

There always is with ripple, now is it pure idiocy trying to pump the price after buying or does ripple pay them out of their unlimited stash of funny money to come here and spread their bullshit?

Are you Kidding me ?

My First question, are you all retired and have a feud with XRP with nothing else to do?
Second question, Don't you follow news/read and only listen to forums with jobless wannabe millionaires bitch about?
Lastly , No Seriously are you ?

Below are the slides from SBIGroup's clear presentation for test initiation released on March 1st, 2017 ( source link : http://www.sbigroup.co.jp/english/investors/disclosure/presentation/pdf/170301presentations.pdf )

clearly mentioning how cost is reduced to 8bps due to xrp usage on rcl. its not companies fault if you dont read their publications and only know how to listen to forum trolls.

Such a big bank, for your (user ) convenience made a English copy , whose fault if it is not well studied. Anyways, Without wasting much time, i am going to share 4 important slides clearly showing where XRP will be used. This is terrible uneducated crowd following anything and everything people say. Out of all the 100's of basement coins without an accountable face nor a well defined plan, Ripple is perhaps the only one dignified and trusted enough to operate in real world with real life impacting organizations. the BTC licenses were not turned down without reason.

got to get to work, so don't expect me to spend all day nagging and bitching in here, there are plenty of people to do that here.

but who have any mind and acumen, follow the data from the sources, do self study and good luck. The problem is so many shady alt-coins desperate come and pump the user with news and hence, most of the crypto community has forgot how real company's work. they make official releases on their portal,s and its the investors job to follow up.

Study people Study, go read from sources yourself, Don't listen to trolls, Don't listen to me, do your own research, but DO IT !

laters,

I agree with spoetnik about the banks informations, it sounds really fishy !
But i wouldn't say that ripple is a shitcoin, it is just a FIAT available digitally only.
I don't really care about how many banks or major banks are working with ripple as i don't use any freature of ripple because they are centralized, and i don't like this.
Also, note that the idea of a "major" bank is totally impossible, you should learn more about banks before talking about "major" bank (which doesn't exists).
There are dozens of specialisations in the banking world, like commercial banks, financial bank (flat rate banks, marging banks, hybrid banks), financial services banks (exchanges ...), loaning banks, investment banks, risk management banks, offshore banks, trusts banks ....
Each one offers a special product, and sometimes with some big banks like Natixis, City Group, BNP Parisbas, you canhave several products in a single institute.
For example, BNP Parisbas offers a complete set of "products", thus it could be designed as a major bank, but why it is bound to S&P ? and why S&P is affected by every single event in the banking world (it is not a major bank, just a rating bank) ?

One of the thing that I don't like about this coin is being a centralized, they can manipulate their coin supply it's the complete opposite of what crypto currency is,the only thing that makes people buy this,is the profits from the pumps the company that manage Ripple.

another false narrative, RCL is de-centralized, no one can stop RCL, nor control XRP on it. Anyone can download and run rippled. I really cannot understand where this is coming from, but

ONCE AGAIN, for anyone really interested, forget the troll, verify for yourself. the link below lists the active validating ripple nodes hosted by ripple and many others. You are welcome to run one at your home.

https://charts.ripple.com/#/validators

Don't like banks, just stay on RCL ( public good/property) and just use bitcoin and XRP and other assets on RCL. For someone who thinks banks and governments are good, want to use ripple for buying a property, making hospital or your child's school payment, then connect to their respective ledger by certifying/kyc etc. Its best of both worlds, only the uneducated keep repeating wrong stuff.

really sorry state of matters here , regarding the misinformation.

People please study yourself. Centralized Huh, lol right ! make up and keep repeating.

and manipulation ? how ? NO new coins can be created ! its a deflationary currency ( wont need a unlimited fork anytime) . its supply keeps decreasing based on usage.

Honestly, this site is the center of Mis-Information.

oh yeah, then wait till the core does another nasty stuff like a 51% attack... this is the problem with total unregulated, some groups corner the market and when people are fraud-ed, no one is held responsible. bitcoin is great, that is how i got into crypto, its due credit, but a single block chain, constant politics, forking fears  , everything is a fight of million opinion, unscalable and finally as the source and destination of funds cannot be guaranteed, good luck directly getting ti regulated ( even japan law only allowed KYC money From and to both )

evidence is clear, bitcoins i falling in price, instead of sky rocketing ( because now everyone has to submit proof of funds origin, kyc, usage and tax information ).. in the name of adoption, government of japan put bitcoin users in clear box.

here news released on japanese tv just yesterday : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQDRaIEmWHE

enjoy !

ethereum is one step evolution from bitcoin ( Bitcoin burns all energy on some fancy math problem solving for pow, no use to any humans , but etherium  uses the same cycles and power to execute contract code - somethign useful )

now XRP, is not a store of value, for that bitcoin or etherium is perfect, but XRP removes counterparty by mathematics, does not burn anything, no new coins can be created and can scale to 10000 tx / sex ( that is 10 thousand )

visa is shaking in the boots, and you say it has no future ! right !

i love how people just randomly think that the next big thing is a shitty altcoin like ripple or whatever just because there was a recent mini pump, lol, ripple have infinite supply can be increased at will by the dev, it has no real value, is centralized like any legal money, why people can't understand this?

i love how people just randomly think that the next big thing is a shitty altcoin like ripple or whatever just because there was a recent mini pump, lol, ripple have infinite supply can be increased at will by the dev, it has no real value, is centralized like any legal money, why people can't understand this?
when the market cap dips they'll just make more, oh what fun!
