Question regarding Dash for my research

Dear people/lovers of Dash,

I'm a student in Holland who is doing a research- and advisory report on the advantages and disadvantages of the Blockchain. In relevance to my research I'm also doing a research on a few protocols, like Dash.

I have a few questions about Dash.. I would greatly appreciate the help I can get here for my research. I have read the whitepaper and also seen a lot of videos about Dash. For me and my research is important that I can have opinions from experts/developers/traders for Dash and how they see Dash as a project.

Firstly I would like to know if you're a developer for something (doesn't have to be Dash, can also be another cryptocurrency) or a trader.. Because I want to compare the answers of developers/experts with traders.

My questions are:
1. What is Dash as a technology?
2. What is the vision of the project Dash?
3. Bitcoin transactions are transparent. Dash uses Darksend to hide the transactions. What is the reason that Dash uses this function? Isn’t transparency the reason people wanted to use Bitcoin?
4. Which errors/mistakes of the Bitcoin protocol does Dash solve? In other words, what are the advantages of Dash above Bitcoin?
5. Why would someone choose Dash above other cryptocurrencies? In other words, what are the advantages of Dash above other currencies/projects, e.g. Ethereum and BitShares?
6. What is a Masternode? Why would someone choose to be an Masternode?
7. How does Dash use the Governance code? How do they make decisions within their network?
8. How does the Virtual Corporation of Dash work? Where do they get money from to pay for the expenses?
9. Is Dash ready to be used mainstream? Why is it (not) ready?
10. What are the disadvantages of Dash?

I really really would appreciate the help I can get for this. I need to have at least 10 people (the more the better!! ) that answered my questions to can get further with my research..

I know that some of the answers will be the same as others that have answered it. It doesn"t matter! For me it's important to have different point of view from people across the world. I also know that are a lot of videos explaining this, but I'm searching for personal opinions..

I also have a few questions about Ethereum and BitShares (also in my research) but I'll open a seperate topic for them..

I would suggest you to spend you time doing something useful. There are so many technologies in cryptospace.  You really dont need to research copy/paste coins.
