So I have old gridseed blades (40 chip), which are fairly easy and cheap to get.  Anyone suggest what coin might be profitable to mine with these old miners in 2017?  There's still lots of new scrypt shitcoins coming out all the time... some of them must have at least some value?

Well as it turns out those same shitcoins are very inexpensive and often mined with much newer ASICs so you don't have much hope at all. There's pretty much no profitable scrypt coins to mine with such an old ASIC at this moment except possibly Litecoin. This isn't a Bitcoin ASIC so I suggest you move this to Altcoin Mining.

I have also a couple of them just to experiment.

Do you have any alt coin which is good to mine?

There are several intresting shitcoins awlways with low or no hashrate. Can also rent out them at MRR as low hashrate rigs are always rented out at much higher cost per hash than big ASIC's.
