LTC, without a doubt.
Yes, I also trust litecoin for now. But I would also be willing to go for ethereum as second best after bitcoin. Nevertheless, my choice will depend more on the pay rates. In case there will appear nice signature campaigns paying not in ethereum or litecoin but still in some stable coin easy to sell, I'll choose that one, because cryptos are mostly the way of earning for me now.

Bitcoin would never die and many altcoins today are dependent only on bitcoins as their buyers/sellers are only active in the BTC field. I would choose ETH, DASH, EDG and DTB as of now as they have a great potential to reach 0.1-0.2 BTC if there are enough traders on exchanges and their starting value is much higher than what BTC was when it was just launched.

so let's assume bitcoin has imploded. there's still an alt market and you're still committed to the concept of crypto.
where do you put your money after that? what other projects do you truly believe in long term? i don't mean the pursuit of quick dollars, i mean something that you're willing to sit on for many years with enough integrity and potential to really go places.
I'll go to what are in the top 5,I always believe that we should not put all your eggs in one basket,so I'll go for the number two spot for a huge chunks of my funds then equally distributed to the third spot to the fourth spot.

in 2013 definitely, these days less so. there are more and more direct fiat gateways for alts and if you go read places like r/ethtrader there are people there who've never touched bitcoin at all. it would definitely be a disaster but there's enough interest elsewhere to keep things moving.

If bitcoin dies, There are many altcoins available in the market. There are best ones and there are some other that is slowly climbing the market. Like Eth, Clock, or LTC are the best ones right now and some also like ConCoin, XRB and other new alt coins that are coming. So if Bitcoin dies there are many choices you have you can invest in some new alt coins in the market. You just to have choose wisely but coin coin rules. There were really a lot that we can be able to get test and testified whether they were suit enough to replace bitcoin As per articles and seeing the news I might go with XMR and ETH. Both were mention in most Alt coins that have higher value when mined. I hope there were still other coins that can exceeds the expectation that bitcoin have offered.

Thats true many altcoins now that can replace bitcoin if ever it dies but I do think thats not going to be soon or its going to be a long long long time or its not going to die. XMR and ETH are good choices for alternate if ever bitcoin dies those are one of the highest value in the market right now. I also think theres also going to be more altcoins in the futures thats going increase in value and definitely can be mined in higher value. We just have to wait and see soon enough. if bitcoin die, what would be the price of other alt in bitcoin? i think all the alt would lose value and die as well or becoming not that good as they are now, all the money are in bitcoin, which make all the other coins valuable, when bitcoin was going to fok with BU, the money were moving from bitcoin to dash and ETH, the strongest, this scenario can repeat itself every time bitcoin is in trouble, but it could also be that the money will move to something else, if bitcoin go down too much, like gold or stocks market

LTC, without a doubt.
LTC is a cloned code of BTC with a few small tweaks. What will cause BTC death can be applied to LTC just as easily.

politics is the most likely cause of bitcoin fading away. litecoin has the chance of pushing through something that'll open up a huge amount of stuff that's being denied bitcoin.

Why do you believe the same politics cannot happen in LTC? It has the same miner centralization in China. It is, well, a copycat, what else to say. It might do well in the short and mid terms. In the long term it has the same flaws as Bitcoin.

of course it will. but there's a window where segwit could happen and that could be the future. once it's through, it's through. there's also a possibility that the people steering litecoin will learn from all the shit that happened to bitcoin and do their best to address it. look at how active charlie lee has been about trying to get segwit through. he's been open to more radical ideas than anyone from core ever was.

of course it will. but there's a window where segwit could happen and that could be the future. once it's through, it's through. Once it's through, it could be the end of a decentralized censorship-free coin. The possibility of LN hubs being used to censor transactions is not FUD, it is real. The price of the coin could multiply many-fold regardless. Not everyone is unhappy with censorship, Paypal is still prosperous and they censor like mad men.

I'd say Eth and Doge because both those have mainstream profiles and the key to success is ordinary people knowing your coin exists.

I think I would divide my coins between eth and litecoin, maybe a bit of ripple too. They seem to be the most used ones so far, with high volumes and all. I would still continue day trading on altcoins tough, so I would buy and sell all the coins that looks attractive regardless of bitcoins situation.

It's not even a choice really. XMR is the only other choice for longterm IMO.
