Yes I heard of this story about the worshipping of cows and cows are sacred animals.  They can roam the cities and even the churches.  They have high respect with these animals.  We cannot argue with their beliefs, ideals, religion, culture or customs, it's been there before we are born.  But it would be heart breaking if you accidentally killed a cow and you will be killed because of it.

If you are living in a country, then you should obey the local laws. Cow slaughter is illegal in India, and despite that members of the minority community perform it and trade with raw beef. If you don't obey the laws, then you have only yourself to blame.

I accept that everyone must obey to law in the country but when did this law come.. After Modi became prime minister of india just because he is a hindu its not fare to bring the law against beef. India is a democratic country and every human being has there freedom to eat and drink what they wish.. No one can stop this.

We cannot judge them since their government, their customs or culture prohibits killing cow because cow for them are sacred animals.  But their government should be accurate or fair on these issue.  It is not right to punished a person without accurate evidence.  There should be trial for those cases so as not to kill innocent.

Religious riots are very common in India, especially between the majority Hindus and the minority Muslims. Most of the times, beef is a provocation. The Muslims sometimes try to provoke the Hindus by throwing beef over the Hindu temples and other places of worship. This in turn, guarantees a very violent retaliation by the Hindus (in regions where they form the majority).

Hindus can refrain from killing cows and ban cow-slaughter in areas where they are a majority (I am a Hindu myself). But it is not practical to impose our views on others, especially those who follow a different religion.

Humans are designed to function by eating animals etc.
Why is because we REQUIRE vast large amounts of energy for our brains and then body to function.
It's about the energy consumption.
If we were not eating meat we wouldn't even be here.. it's evolution.

But yeah it's about a serving of energy we need for consumption to function.
Things were not always like they are today with increased food supplies.
Famine was common in old times too.

But i am eating Pepperoni pizza right now.
Point being is i am not a fan of steaks but beef does taste good.
I eat little meat ..on purpose.
I don't like the idea of having to kill animals to eat.
The only thing i can do though is limit my consumption of meat then.
Or better yet in our modern life i simply consume by products that do not require killing.

In every religion out there, in all the sacred books it is clearly written that God created the animals to be in service for the humans who are the leaders in this earth. What this hindus do, killing someone just for eating beef or cow meat is totally bullshit. Even in a very strict religion like Islam, if someone eats pork which is forbidden to do, they don't kill him or her but just give them a small punishment. Ignorance is not a bliss and I am shocked how in the world Indians are called good engineers or good software developers after doing this kind of bullshit.

Pretty absurd by today's standards but i think there still are some communities around the world who still havr these kinds of beliefs and it sometimes would be fatal if you don't respect their traditions. It is very sad that a person is beaten and sometimes killed just because he is eating beef or carrying beef in the so called secular state "INDIA".
I respect the religious beliefs of Hindus but one should impose there religion on others.
