Serious question, maybe I missed it somewhere in the heaps of garbage around this sub, but why the bi-polar attitude swings? I thought you were done... DONE!! ?

What clicked? Why the change of heart?

Pretty obvious, because metals followed oil and all other commodities into the shitter.

as well as the idiots who claim to be able to predict future bitcoin price movements down to every daily squiggle.

look at this chart, it says it all

http://www.coindesk.com/data/bitcoin-daily-transactions/

that's all you need to see to know where bitcoin is headed long term.
This is due to wallet software using more and more addresses, more sophisticated mixers, and proof of concept services sending thousands of microtransactions between them. This number does does not correspond to people, at least not suddenly at the scale indicated in that chart.

You have been under that rock for too long. This discussion has already been held without you. For example, what about all the offline transactions because of Coinbase and Changetip?

Partly because of the blocksize and confirmation times it makes no sense to settle each micro transaction on the blockchain. The (indirect) real usage of Bitcoin has increased dramatically over the last two years.

I don't get why people are so pessimistic and negative towards the value of BTC.

In the SHORT run, there is no real support for the current price level rampup.

In the LONG run, I do see Bitcoin pricing increasing - but it's going to bounce quite a bit in the meantime like most investments.

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

There was a whole network where you could transfer fiat from some other exchanges to mtgox literally instantly (and lots of other services and some channels to other exchanges too). You'd click something on btce and 2 seconds later, funds are in your gox account ready to go. Where can you even do that sort of thing now? All the exchanges are so serious [...]

It is called Liquid. Time to do some homework before you start your renewed posting spree. The exchange you are talking about is long gone for very good reasons. Most of us turned that black page long ago, even the mainstream media is starting to be able to see past that era.

Whenever we jump price so fast its usually a sign that theres something behind it pumping it and not natural uptrend but this can be a good thing since we may well crash down to levels higher than when the pump begun. Its win win.

Even without seeing these data almost anyone wait the rise of price. I don't think there are to many them who tell to not buy. Almost every post I have read about this matter tell to buy. Who tell more and who less but almost all tell to buy. Slowly but with determination the price is rising. Everyone want this but for me must wait a little. First in order to have the financial possibilities to buy some others before the rise of the price and second to have some return from an investment made with bitcoin when the investment is made in bitcoin, the profit is given in us dollar and then the withdraw (with obligation) must be made in bitcoin. Thing this not declared when you are invited to invest. So if the price rise fast I cannot have even my bitcoins.

Everything they can get their hands into, just to spread some fud. Smiley Been buying since the lows of this year and somehow it turned out to be a clever decision for me. I would love to buy some more but Christmas is just a week away and I haven't bought any presents til now :v Anyway, people, buy what you can afford to lose and don't be like that guy who took a loan to invest and got burned in the end.

Of course all investment involves risk and everyone should be free to choose where to put his money. It is clear that there are several persons that use to reject the bitcoin as a reliable investment, but this opinion does not make them idiots because ultimately every one is free to think according to his own principles and rational basis.

I personally think it is still a good time to acquire bitcoins, but I understand all them who dislike this idea.

But bitcoin price are facing a huge problem because of the precense of BTU. I don't know what is happening to bitcoin. For it is alright to stay put what bitcoin is now. This is all start when bitcoin shows a multiple price jump on past month. I hope that this will not affect the future of bitcoin.

Is this a post dated necro post too?

BTU is so totally last month. They've played their hand and lost. They'll probably reemerge in another form but I think fatigue is setting in.
