A first post should always be a hello, so here it is! Hey there everybody (even if it is primarily newbs reading this as well)! Long time lurker, first time poster. I feel as though I'm heavily invested enough in bitcoin - if not with tons of broke-ass college kid cash, than atleast in spirit. I came across the whole concept back in October, while doing a term paper which was originally on the SR, but morphed into one completely on bitcoins as I fell deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole. As I was doing the research, I came to realize just how groundbreaking, and what more, entirely workable the entire bitcoin economy is. I needed some skin in the game, so I registered an account with cavirtex that day, and got my first bitcoins later that week. Since then, I've just been hanging around watching and doing a bit of trading. I'm enjoying both the actual economy which is developing, and the speculation. I'm fairly frugal as a college student, so I don't have too many expenses which I can actually spend my BTC on, and I guess that has led me to focus more on the speculation and currency exchange facet. I'm happy enough to say that the hundred or so dollars I put in back in October has netted me enough return to pay for my summer's rent!
Going forward I hope to stay invested long-term, which is easier said than done in my position. Disposable cash is never to available as a student, but I hope to do what I can. I'll be working the summer, and plan on skimming 20% of my earnings into BTC as it comes in - market volatility notwithstanding. I'm also having fun spreading the word. Some of my friends think I'm absolutely insane which can't be helped, but I've piqued the interest of others. It's a blast to watch others fall down that same rabbit hole, and discover the depths that bitcoin can take them.
So, yeah. That's pretty much me. Howdy!
