Robert Whittaker has two major advantages in this match and that he is a much younger fighter and he has knock out power but if you take the rest of the comparison Ronaldo Souza stands out with a huge difference and the only problem he had was against good wrestlers and grappler's which was difficult for him to take down and Robert Whittaker is not a good grappler but when you are facing a fighter like Souza you need to be a specialist to overcome his ground game .

94% tdd is not good grappling? not sure what else you need besides that and striking to beat souza ill take whittaker all day at +200 or more

Robert Whitaker's odds is still not enough if you ask me. He is against Jacare who is still one of the best fighter in the middleweight division. Some MMA analysts consider him as the next champion if he is given a chance to fight for the title.

@notserp. The odds of Robert Whitaker is now over +200. This brings me to the question, are the bets going in for Jacare from the casual fans or from the professional gamblers? Maybe the sportsbooks are adjusting the odds to make the underdog a more attractive bet for us.

Jacare finished his last fight quickly without taking damage or suffering injuries & so he was ready to fight again soon.

Jacare is getting older, he probably wants to make the most of his time & do whatever he can to earn a title shot.

I don't mind him fighting so soon, it is a pleasure to watch him work.

I really missed the full card,my prediction is Demetrious Johnson to win by TKO ,as he has never gone to distance in a very long time,Souza will win by submission as he is the real alligator and Jeremy Stephens and i like the ground game of Rose Namajunas and i hope they will end up winning the rest of the fights.

If you look at Robert Whittaker's UFC career just pin point one wrestler he faced till now,only wrestlers take down opponents and most of the time BJJ specialist ,everyone he faced till now are strikers and so is the reason he does have a good take down defense,Ronaldo Souza is on a different level when it comes to the ground game so a 94% take down defense against strikers is not that impressive for me.

Robert Whitakker just shook up the entire middle weight division when he knocked the hell out of Ronaldo Souza and it is really hard for him to get a title shot after this loss,just one match destroyed Souza's title dreams,Demetrious Johnson  as always displayed a tremendous performance to defeat Wilson Reis as he wiped out the entire division.

Souza had defeated good strikers in the past and so is the reason i made that call and in the first round when Ronaldo Souza took Robert Whittaker down he just rolled out of it and that move decided the fate of the match as he really did not have an answer for the strikes,i never expected this to happen,this is fight prediction and anything can happen,made a mess with the bets with this single loss,hope you had a good day notserp.

Congratulations to Demetrious Johnson for defending his ten title defenses in a row, what a fight he stops Wilson Reis  with an armbar. To sad for Jacare Souza he was brutally pounded by Robert Whittaker, he dominated and well performance. I'm waiting for the next step of might mouse, will he still remain on his division or it's time leave and take a step forward.

It was a really good parlay as i thought Jeremy Stephens could win the match,but unfortunately i had some losses and Robert Whittaker really is a good stand up fighter as he had a good game plan against Jacare Souza and he is on a seven fight winning streak and the division is filled with talented fighters,so it is difficult for him to get a title shot even with the winning streak.

Never thought Jacare Souza could be defeated and the name Robert Whittaker was not under my radar and so is the reason i was not able to wage for the under dog ,Demetrious Johnson needs some serious challenge and Dana White have to scout the entire world to find a worthy opponent for him as he does not have any opponent in his division.

What does the win of Robert Whitaker mean for the middleweight division? Does it mean Robert is going up to no.3 in the rankings? Maybe his next fight should be versus Yoel Romero or maybe a fight straight for a title challenge?

@bbc.reporter Ronaldo Souza is the biggest looser as he risked his chances ,the return of GSP and his title fight stalled the division and he was next to challenge for the belt after Romero ,now Robert Whittaker just changed everything and now Luke Rockhold has called out Robert Whittaker and if he faces him the winner would get a title shot after Romero .

@SaShiRaJaVu. It is highly doubtful Luke Rockhold will get a scheduled fight versus Robert Whitaker. I do not think Robert will fight so soon. It will be a big risk for him and it is also to the advantage of Luke if he takes the fight. Robert is already in a good position to challenge for the title.

@bbc.reporter it is true that Robert Whittaker might not take a fight against Luke Rockhold too soon because when he was asked about it in the post  fight press show he said he does not know about any deals and he played down the match up and said it is too early for him to tell anything,what ever it is it is hard for Souza to come back to title contention after this loss.
