Is this even possible,
to save just a private key and address where ripples are,
or that works differently ?

You can't. Ripple is closed source. The developers have it all for themselves.

You can ask the client to save your wallet only in your browser cache.

With just the secret key you can recreate a new wallet with access to all your funds and trust lines. The client currently reminds you every time you login to save your secret. There are Q&A on StackExchange that go into the details of wallet storage and recreation.

IMO, Ripple questions are best asked (and answered) on the Ripple forum and/or StackExchange
