April 24 (Bloomberg) -- David Marcus, president of EBay Inc.'s PayPal unit, talks about mobile payment security and the prospects for virtual currency bitcoin. He speaks with Guy Johnson on Bloomberg Television's "The Pulse." (Source: Bloomberg)

He talks of bitcoin at 2m50s:

Just imagine the mainstream audience of millions of paypal/ebay customers on Bitcoin!

How Ripple Rips you: "The founders of Ripple Labs created 100 billion XRP at Ripple's inception. No more can be created according to the rules of the Ripple protocol. Of the 100 billion created, 20 billion XRP were retained by the creators, seeders, venture capital companies and other founders. The remaining 80 billion were given to Ripple Labs. Ripple Labs intends to distribute and sell 55 of that 80 billion XRP to users and strategic partners. Ripple Labs also had a giveaway of under 200 million XRP (0.002% of all XRP) via World Community Grid that was later discontinued.[29] Ripple Labs will retain the remaining 25 billion"

I saw the link on Hacker News.  I was saying, Ebay/Paypal would do huge business buying and selling Bitcoins.  I think they could easily replace Mt.Gox as a marketplace, if they tried.

Nobody wants to sell bitcoins using Paypal, but you know they will care a lot more about protecting the seller when *they* are the seller.

At this point of bitcoin history even a hint of Paypal possibly accepting bitcoin as funding option is extremely huge news. If you can't figure that out, you have problems. And this comes to someone who's neither bull or bear.

No, it's extremely good news. Short term it could mean 5 or 30%, I don't know, but it's extremely good news for bitcoins generally. It adds big wtf factor to people on the fence and people who don't understand bitcoin. When you hear even remotely good news about bitcoin coming from Paypal, Western Union, Moneygram you ask yourself some questions. Either you're buyer or potential merchant.

It's looong way til Paypal recognition would become a fact of course but any tiny bit helps at this moment of bitcoin history.

And again I'm not a bull at all, specially not typical bitcointalk aggressive bull sucker.
