Yep those guides are the staple to building an Altcoin, if you need one built ASAP then talk to loljosh.

Cloning a coin is easy, maintaining is something totally different. Create your coin, and then try to maintain the blockchain, i am sure it will stuck after a month or two.
Don't play with something you know nothing about, use the guides to learn, and when you are sure that you are able to maintain the coin, you will have so much experience that you won't need to create it, trust me.

better to make them to be mined and not be bought like ico and scam like that, pow ensure that your coins will have a good value in the future, and attract investors, because remember that miners are also investors, it's a win win situation, instead ico are only good to kill your coin very fast and leave the other people to do bagholder

Most altcoins are clones of other cryptocurrencies, so I think, as long as you're a good coder, it's not such a difficult task to create another one. The problem is that a simple clone will certainly not attract the attention of the market... The challenge is to create something innovative and that solves real-world problems.

I'm not sure you want to know how to make altcoin and want to learn about it, it seems like you want to try and make altcoin, I think you do not have to try to make altcoin, because if no one understands and without the cooperation of his team will all be worth -sia and wasting your time on something that does not allow the reality of it.

If you need to ask then you probably don’t have the necessary tools or knowledge to do it, but if you really want to do it my first recommendation is to learn a programming language if you don’t know one already, but beware learning a programming language is similar to learning a natural language it is a process that takes years to master.

Getting a new clone coin built is NOT the hard part.  The hard part is keeping the community interested in it and keeping the blockchain moving.
