I've opened this topic because i want to create my own rig with 2 ATI 460 + 2 nvidia (gtx 550ti + gtx 750ti).

Now the questions.
1) My power supply is only 650 so i need another: in your opinion it's better to buy one about 1300 or use 2 different power supply?
2) My Mobo have only 3 PCI, so i need another motherboard?

Sorry for my english, Alessio

Hi Alessio,

I use 4xRX460 with a 600W power supply. The hole system just need round about 220-230W on Zcash with a speed about ~410 Sols.
For your setup you need to run it on AMD or Nvidia only. I tried it with both on one system, but the software made a lot of problems. If you get the cards cheap, I would buy a RX480 or more. Undervoltage them.

Ati and nvidia dont work with the same platform.

Thanks for the fast reply!!

Now i'm using 2 old card: nVidia 550Ti + AMD HD5670

they work with no problem, i use ccminer(trupov version <3) and sgminer 5.6.0 general.

I'm mining x11 with 800 khash + 300 khash if you need support i can give you. I'm using windows because more simple overclocking and get miner work.

Why you say that i can't mine with ATI + NVIDIA? With the rig is different? I mean, run 2 ati and 2 nVidia is different that run 1 ati and 1 nvidia?

If the card use the same driver version where is the problem? If i get two 460 but different model i will have error?

You can try if you have too many time to waste.
But it make mess in the system (drivers etc) so it is better to stay with one platform .
That could be issues in the specific algo especially.

I am looking for signature campaign Wink pm me

Ati and nvidia dont work with the same platform.

That's incorrect.

They DO work on the same platform. I'm typing on a system that is concurrently mining with a GTX1070, a 280X, and two 290X.. and i'm cpu mining also.

of course, i'm using gtx 550ti + ati hd5670 + AMD FX 6core cpu. I'm getting quite 1.3 MHS and it work perfectly. Just use different miner for different card.

My questions is: is still profitable use 2 ATI 460? 2nd hand without warranty is a bet. Buying on Amazon or similar give me warranty?

Do you know any site reference to the speed about ATI 460/470/480 mining speed in relation with all algo?

^ That shows the expected hashrate for the 460. Personally I would much rather go for 470s if you buy more. If you already have some 460s, or can get them for very very little it might be worth doing. Smiley

What do you mean for very little price?

What do you mean for very little price?

I mean that I do not think the 460 is a very good value when compared to the rx 470. The Rx 460 gets 10-11 Mh/s for Ethereum and costs ~$90+ new in the USA - the Rx 470 gets 22-24 Mh/s on stock bios and as much as 30 Mh/s in Ethereum if you flash the Bios (while using only a little more power) and costs ~ $175 (less on a good sale). You want to get as many Mh/s out of your total hardware costs, since this includes the motherboard, CPU, etc you will get more efficiency out of the Rx 470s then the 460s will ever be capable of.

If you can get 460s really cheap or already own some then go for it, at retail price I would not recommend it over the 470.  Cheers Smiley

AMD and Nvidia can coexist on same system without a problem and you can save some money by having 2 smaller Power supplys. I have dual PSU setup and it works like a charm! The 600W powers Mobo, HDD and one radeon 7990 while the other PSU, a 750W powers another radeon 7990 and one R9 280.
