HashOcean was a huge one.  This kind of giant cloud mining scam is something that happens all the time in new forms and they just disappear.

Bitcoin sites need to start getting proper verification.  Being a UK company isn't enough, they need to be regulated by relevant bodies to know that they definitely can't disappear.

The two biggest sites I can think of now is Circle and Fiverr -->  http://bitcoinist.com/fiverr-no-longer-accepts-bitcoin/ ..... Circle changed their

business model and only used Bitcoin to get traction in the market. The decision behind Fiverr not accepting Bitcoin anymore is a bit sinister, and

I think they might have received some heat from other payment companies.  Huh Huh

That is a fake site like another fake proxy of it. When HashOcean came down a lot of site claimed that they are HashOcean fooling people that if they deposited a certain amount they will have their money back which is false. They did this for them to claim money for the helpless investors hoping to have their investments in their hands, it is a shame that people are taking advantage of one of the biggest scams in the internet.

Dell stopped accepting Bitcoin a while back, at least according to this Reddit thread I saw a while back:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/61r0u0/dell_stopped_accepting_bitcoin_an_opportunity_for/

But they still have it mentioned on their website, so I don't know if that's accurate:

I haven't used any of big bitcoin websites which already closed doors. I was interested to invest into HashOcean, but I decided to not invest, because their website didn't looked enough professional for me and I didn't believed that they are really doing mining.
Also, there was several bitcoin exchanges which closed. I can't remember all their names, I only know about MtGox.

You are wrong about that, the current site must be a phishing site,hashocean.com was the scam site that scammed people with over million of dollars and i am not pretty sure what the final amount scammed. Mt. Gox is another big exchange that closed down, then there is Bitstake and Buttercoin also shut down but i am not sure about the reason.

I think that the most widely known, and also known as one of the biggest scams was mt.Gox Smiley
I remember these times, everybody was saying that bitcoin is dying right now, and there is no chance for that cryptocurrency to survive.
I also remind myself the panic that occured freshly after mt.gox fuck-up, that was something terrifying, but luckily I had no money in there.

Good times, I still regret that I have exchanged my bitcoins freshly before mt.gox has decided to go down :/ Could have been a millionaire today Cheesy

The biggest bitcoin site that I know and most people knew it too is Mt Gox. You can read every detail of the story on wikipedia.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mt._Gox

Edit: xypos beat me to it.

For gambling sites that closed down all I know is magicaldice and fastdice.

You are very wrong by comparing Faucetbox with these huge scams. Faucetbox didn't scammed anyone. They announced that they are closing their service because it's not profitable and they give enough time to withdraw funds for faucet users and owners. Faucetbox always was legit and I can say only good words about it

Mt.Gox no longer exists, so I think that that counts as a website that's no longer available :^)

If I'm right expedia or some other travel company was also offering Bitcoin payments at some point, but they ended up closing it for some reason or another. I think that was a year and a half or two years ago, I don't remember anymore.

I can't think of any sites that might have closed that I care about anytime recently, so that's my entire list at this point. I'd have to think a lot harder.

Scrypt.cc is the best mining website you can buy Mh/s in the market just like trading the real people selling it in their own price and you can it even you invest small amount but it takes time if you invest big you can earn alot and it is Https secured but in the other month of their business hackers tries to hack their website and they won, they withdrawed all money in this site ang Scrypt.cc has a chat support so if you have a problem you can ask question easily maybe the hacker runs the money or the owner of this site and they make a false news about scrypt is being hacked.

Well if i sorted the site that i have used but not available anymore i think it would be a long list since there are so many sites who offline let say "Cryptsy" one of the biggest altcoin exchanger at that time, so sad many people lost their coins i personally didn't lose. Other sites that offline was popular faucet but now not operate anymore. For mining site, i think people have mentioned them above so far this full of with scammers all i can say is there is something about Bitcoin that attracts all kinds of scam artists and frauds.

FaucetBox is over also, there are another micro payment system sites that replaced it, but it's not the same. About the another sites I don't know much...

As far as i know and what i experienced and observe i think the biggest bitcoin site that has been close and turned to scam is hashocean.Back by the time when hashocean is still alive most of bitcoins users invest their money in hashocean and when hashocean is ascam site and eventually close bitcoins price slightly drop and most bitcoins users stop after the closing of hashocean
