I saw the other post regarding quitting smoking, but it appeared to be more focused on cigarettes and nicotine. I've never smoke cigarettes. I have smoked weed for 15 years almost everyday. I am on my 4th day without weed cold turkey. Day 1 and 2 were brutal. I vomited. I was nauseated. That has passed. My anxiety levels are through the roof with some depression. My appetite is zero. My mood is pretty much wanting to beat the shit out of everyone and everything. Sleep? What is that? I ran 3 miles today (I ran 4-5 days a week even when I smoked). That helped tremendously. Baths help.

Anyone else quit cold turkey? Any advice? Your experience?

You will get over it and you will be able to sleep better too.

30 years i been smoking weed i stopped for 3 years though many year ago when the rocky was around .
It was getting me paranoid .<CHEMICALS in rocky ..Never really get to paranoid with skunk ..

Anyways how i stopped i had a drink Cheesy ..< Not everyday drinking about 3 times a week.
Then stopped drink and went back on the weed Cheesy..

Do you know what it's easy if no one around you smokes it..
But if someone from your area and you do the same thing you will smoke it..

So try and change your routine ..

BUT man going without a weed good luck .To stressful in this day and age without 1..

Even having 1 joint 1 hour before bed is better than smoking it all day..
Just in case life gets to stressful .
But you are better without it so good luck..

One day i hope to join you cough me guts up everyday because of weed..
So not healthy like some say it is..BUT a lot healthy than drinking a 1000 fold..

But never been one for eating weed..Because i know what ever you burn becomes toxic ..

Like imagine smoking a cabbage drying it out and smoking it  still wont be healthy if you smoked a cabbage but a cabbage is healthy if you eating it..

Same might go for weed.. NEEDS STUDYING Wink..

I gave my little boy CANNABIS to help cure his cancer: Mother ... son who was given days to live made a miracle recovery when she gave him weed..

you will be like zebedee for a while..

If you have a hard time quitting smoking weed then follow this steps. If you are smoking weed everyday then start your routine by decreasing your intake of weed slowly. First step is in your first week try to smoke weed every other day instead of everyday, then after that make the interval every 2 days before intaking, then make the interval 3 days, then after a week 4 days, then after a week 5 days, then after a week 6 days. Later on you will realize that your addiction to weed is no longer there and your body has also adjusted to the amount of weed you are intaking.

I will tell you that a year after you quit, your emotions will all reset differently. The best tasting food is no longer that after you get high, the best feeling not reserved for that time. Now I look back on weed days as depressingly normal, old school, amateur style high.

Just like alcohol, marijuana is a substance which should be consumed in moderation. But in your case, you were a very heavy user. You were taking marijuana every day, and that too for more than a decade. But don't give up. Marijuana is not as addictive as the hard drugs. It is relatively easy to shrug off the addiction. Just stay strong!

I wouldn't say it's something that's easy to go ahead and shrug off and it'll be done, I'd consider it has to have some sort of emotional hold on him a as a whole just like any other drug would have. Even though people say this is one of the drugs that someone can get off of rather easy, I personally don't think it can be done if you're using it for such a long period of time like he did here.

It's going to take some time to get off of it, but maybe try other activities to attempt to ease the pain. You can try those vaping related activities even if you're not into it it could slowly ease you out of the smoking habit everyday.

Keep taking salt baths and running buds, I guess that's all I can say Wishing ya good luck too!

If you are serious maybe you should just go and take medical advise from a doctor instead of people on an forum?
But interesting to see how much (heavy) cannabis user we have.

I couldn't fall asleep last night, but once I did I actually had dreams I remembered. I woke up with some anxiety, but after a shower it eased up. I'm going to keep myself busy today. Its nice outside too. I have told all my friends that smoke weed not to offer or even mention it around me. If they are going to smoke I'm not going to be around it.

It got to the point that when I smoked I was like I just smoke one ETH. I just smoked 4 LTC. I rather invest my weed money in crypto. Weed is a for sure loss. The others could change my life.

Thanks for all the tips! It seems each day gets a little easier. No turning back now.

I smoked about 20-30 joints a day for 15 or so years.

I'm afraid I don't have any advice because one day the desire to have it simply went off like a light switch and has never returned. Maybe it was so easy because drugs don't have an effect on me, I just liked the taste.

I do remember what it felt like to run out. In those situations I would remind myself that it was a craving and not an addiction.

After throwing it in I did develop a slight distaste for weed smokers. Not necessarily the mind set, but more the utter waste of time and money. I refused to travel with stoners any more as they'd insist on parking up every hour and talking shit for twenty minutes.

You can look forward to feeling richer and more productive. Weed use is an utter dead end ultimately.

The best thing about quitting any bad habit, is the moment when you overcome it.
The feeling of winning a war, war against yourself.

I've been smoking weed for a long time, and I have to say that I never had problems to make a long breaks.
Indeed, first two, sometimes even three days are tough, but not like OP have described it: my desire to smoke was really annoying, all I could do these days was thinking about having a fat blunt in my mouth but I didn't have any serious issues with my body luckily.

I really wish you luck with quitting skunk, bear in mind that the worst days have passed- now you can focus on repairing the damages that it has made to both your body and brain.

It takes about two weeks to get better, two months later you will feel very energized and strong.

Very much I doubt it. A person who has something important to take away will always be irritated by the nerves of the system. And even sleep disturbance with poor appetite.

In I have not bought a day and did not even want to, but recently I allowed myself to buy all the fun. And now there is a desire to smoke again.

Well I hope you succeed in quitting weeds,
I know it is really hard to quit on something that you have been doing regularly in a year.

You cannot pretend to quit weed all by yourself and without any help. That has been impossible for all the people who tried to quit it before you. It is normal that your mood will be to want to beat anyone and everything. Why don't you go to the rehab center for just 3 weeks to 1 month and you will be recovered completely this way. I quit cold turkey for 8 months. It was easy for me too. No ill effects other than craving it for the first two weeks or so. After that I kind of forgot about it. Other than not being able to sleep I was pretty much the same. I work all day so during the week I would only smoke 2 or 3 joints a day. During weekends or holidays it was 10 joints a day or something like that.

Anyhow, I got back into it because I couldn't sleep. I had to rely on sleeping pills that are apparently addictive and doctors are really hesitant to prescribe it. So I just got back into smoking cannabis. Now I sleep fine.

He's smoking cannabis not meth. I suppose weak people need this kind of help but anyone with a strong will can stop cold turkey and be perfectly fine.
