Hello Bitcointalk,

some of you may already know us, we're the guys behind the Coin* scripts (CoinSlots, CoinJack, CoinDice).

Maybe you also noticed that we're no longer active (business speaking) on this forum. We have our reasons for it (we can explain if interested). So now we're about to sell our former flagship, the project we've spent hundreds of hours developing and making the idea possible.

The subject of this auction is: https://betbase.io

What is Betbase?

Betbase is professional Bitcoin gambling platform. Casino owners can use our API so they don't have to deal with their own bankroll, provably fair mechanisms and handling money of their players. Everything is securely handled by Betbase. For more information, visit the home page and watch the video.

It can be said Betbase is very similar to Moneypot with some improvements that Moneypot doesn't have.

The site is written in Node.js (with MySQL database), the whole code is very well secured, we've been through several udependent security audits. We're hosted in Amazon and the Cloudflare protection is used. We have our own email system. The database server is separated.

Profitability?

We tried to do some marketing right after the project was launched. But we could not actively run the project anymore so we haven't touch it for several months now. Despite of that, the number of bets and casinos started is increasing. We've made exactly 0.13259661 during that time and we didn't even know it. We found out yesterday when preparing to sale.

Some of our clients are a bit angry (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1690095.60) because their withdrawals wasn't processed manualy (as I say, we really didn't touch the project for few months), but is should be no big deal for the new owner to show them that he cares more than us.

Everything in the system is fully automatic except for withdrawals, which are automatic only if certain checks are passed (the user made a deposit, the amount is not bigger than X, etc.), otherwise it's sent to administration for approval.

There's a very basic administration, the only thing there is the list of pending withdrawals and actions.

For more information please ask us directly in this thread. We would be very happy if the project would continue in good hands, we've spent really a lot of time on this.

Starting bid:
1 BTC

We reserve the right to end or cancel the auction at any time.
We'll inform you 1 day before the end of the auction. It probably won't take more than 1 week.

Thank you all,
Johny

Hi, thanks for question.

Although it is good for the project of this kind to have 50+ BTC in bankroll, we had 1 BTC in bankroll the whole time and it was still used and profitable. You could add the profits to the bankroll and grow. Another approach is to find investors, we raised over 5 BTC in investments just in early stage but then we decided to go without investors and our own 1 BTC in bankroll was still very profitable for us. Third option is to edit the code and open the bankroll for investors, just like Moneypot does. We don't recommend this, though. Investors are most likely going to withdraw every time the bankroll takes a hit and this is ruining the whole Kelly criterion principle. Bankroll is going to grow very slow that way.

I think there's enough options to consider. Not having huge money doesn't mean you can't run this kind of business.

Domain and servers are realtively cheap, few hundreds USD / year.

This is nothing compared with the amount you need to run this kind of business.

Note that they offer just a very basic Dice script atm.
You must invest a lot of money to add new games (pay a developer to do it - if you find a good one), to promote the business, to attract investors (if you decide for that)
As it is now, nobody will use Betbase.

Thank you for your prophecy.

It's true that buyer will have to invest more money into the business. But it's profitable even without it. I believe it's possible to start small.

I'd advise any interested buyer to be cautious when dealing with OP's scripts, especially with this type of business where owner is liable toward investors.
They have an history of providing broken code that led to loss of coin. Just google "Johny1976 site:bitcointalk.org"

I'm sure you saw they have a minimum bid of 1 BTC.
But because I know who you are, I consider your offer of 0.5 BTC it was a good joke.

Yes, that's a long time ago. It's still the same old song. Most of victims of our poor coding was refunded. Then we hired different kind of professional programmers and we also learned many things ourselves. Then we started to distribute new software and had no complaints.

That's really not important as we probably won't need the trust of Bitcointalk anymore, we've ended our mission here.
But for this one time we have no problem with any kind of code audit as we're 100% confident it's bug free. Also we can use an escrow.
