Merger not happening soon.
But for some good news. The guy in Thailand has some estimates now on his board design and possible pricing. Klondike 1 - $16 Klondike 16 - $35 Klondike 64 - $100
So you could order 16 chips at 1.38 BTC or 32 chips at 2.75 BTC and get the board and parts from BkkCoins and have a 4 GH/s or 9 GH/s miner.
PSST.... you need to marry chips to board. Power supply, fans and heatsinks... few more bucks and some skills. The more I look at the DIY idea the less comfortable I am unless you have the right EQUIPMENT. Start reading the how to do reflow etc... there is some excellent info on BKKcoins thread on this. Best bet especially if you are ordering in larger numbers find an SMT / PCB fab house near you.

Yes, I understand that. I'm still thinking what would be a good arrangement for other participants in this group buy. If someone local, or at least within this region can do the assembly, (you?) then all investors interested in BkkCoin's design can buy the boards from him, buy the chips here, and send them to you to marry them. Or something along those lines. I think more people are interested in finished products than raw materials.

From what I have seen and for the chip numbers I have ordered and the location BKKcoin is the one I'd go with Dabs for either of us. Has to be good people and fab houses in Manila for all this. Boards from BKKcoins... get your chips to the right people locally and you will be golden.

Yes there are. The electronic toy "grey" market here is very good at copying existing designs. Video games, mod chips, dvd players that play anything, android tablets and phones. If they just have one working model and the documentation for it, I'm sure one of these guys would be interested in fabricating a bunch. But they're not bitcoiners yet, so like everyone else, we're waiting for the specs to be published by Avalon.

Seems like dealing with the ASIC builders leaves everyone in the same boat scratching their nuts while we wait for news. Any news.

Suggestion for those ordering and signing messages using their bitcoin address. Limit your message to one line. The order itself will suffice. I only need enough proof that you control the address you are sending your coins from. Multiple lines or messages that are too long tend to have extra characters that interfere with the verification on my end. Example: 1FX53aWhBzZuCfsG1mE3zor5fCdWNceHRs I am Dabs on bitcointalk.org and this is my Group Buy. ICa39GauWbl28yj6jwubTzaoxdmnmqPs5DpKKLi8yTtKzGuUDyY38nrVnnLkWMb/PhW2ihM7yl1awSOYj1f4+l8= Thanks.

Ok. He sent me a PM. And he just posted too. Yolo, kindly sign with your bitcoin address after sending the payment. Tomorrow, (in the Philippines) is election day, so I'm going to go vote and be basically out the whole day. I will post the day after for any confirmed orders, but if anyone wants to see real time, just check the block chain. https://blockchain.info/address/1FX53aWhBzZuCfsG1mE3zor5fCdWNceHRsAnd just for fun (or rather, just the facts, because this is probably morbid): So far, we have recorded 1816 violent crime incidents in which there were 890 injuries and 1420 fatalities from 1 January 2013 to the present date. And we have a so called "gun ban". But I'm not here to talk about politics... Let's go order people...

Hi Dabs, this is a bit complicated one sec... Have you found someone there that could marry the avalon chips to the Bkk Board? Interested in flying there and putting together an assemble team. Thoughts?

Personally, I have not found one I know face to face. But if you read around, there is a lot of potential.
You fly here and you can get your chips from me personally with free coffee at starbucks. And if you order half the batch, like I said earlier, I pick you up at the airport too. hehehe. (that's 5000 chips.)
For now, I'm only organizing the chip buy. The developers and assemblers will happen later. We have the specs already.

I'm just not sure what to do with the chips once i get em, if we could find someone there that for sure can put these together plus hire a few other guys to put them together, we could have a full on production team going "i'm checking in mindanao btw" I'm based in Australia but pinoy ako. We can do alot of business between Aus and Phils.
Pretty sure we can get our own lil farms going in phils.
I'll be there soon, maybe Angeles to do alot more than mining.

Guys...
There are certainly places right near you that can do this.
SMT PHILIPPINES, INC.
3 Mountain Drive, LIPS II, BGY La Mesa Calamba City, Laguna, Philippines. TEL: Tasu63-49-545-6191, Tasu63-49-545-6192, Fax: Tasu63-49-545-7809
These guys could do everything and they are just outside Manila. They can make the boards as well from BKKcoins design.
In Aus should be able to find someone easily.
Best bet is do the fab inside of your country and do it locally so you can avoid import duties and shipping.
