ᗸ  <--- that's how the double strike though B is viewed on many machines.

The ฿  is Thailand's currency and my problem with the double strike though is that it is easily confused with this one.

I really need what would be considered the bitcoin symbol,  something that exists in the Unicode standard world

There has been a lot of good discussion on this topic over the years.

I'm more interested in the Bitcoin logo...if you look at big companies (or even new ones like BitInstant or bitpay), they're logos are way cooler...

Hardforks aren't that hard. It’s getting others to use them that's hard.

i agree using the verticle line through B is borderline abuse of the thai baht.. where as this Ƀ is a little more safe.

bitinstant is already using the small line in the bottom half of bitcoin

Yeah, when making BitScavenger I decided to go with the small line in the bottom half.

Woot!  Self high-five personal call out!

But seriously, it is a more recognized character in the font world.  I do appreciate the cha-ching aspect of the double strike through B but then again I am from the States so my bias toward a money symbol has vertical strike through.
