hello,

did anyone try z270 boards with a recent driver?

i would like to know if z270 mainboards support 6 gpus, most answers say it works with more than 5 gpus only with 16.6 or older drivers. so it cannot run 6 RX 570 / RX 580

can anyone confirm this?

thanks!

That is not due to the boards being a problem, its a problem with AMD Drivers that will not allow more than 5 cards.

As for boards, the Asus Z270f supports 7 cards out of the box. And the Asus Z270-p can run upto 10 under linux with pci-e extenders.

If you have one on the way, let us know after testing.

anyone try 10 gpu's on the ASRock Z170 OC Formula?

with 7 pci-e lanes and 3 M.2 slots it could be the next thing since sliced bread.

as for confirmation on kabylake/skylake

I'm running 5 gpu's on the g4400t cpu and msi z170 plus sli mobo...3 370's, 1 1070 and a 580

was having problems getting 3 1070's and 2 470's though...not sure why, some graphical glitch or something.

I couldn't run a 580, 2 370's and 2 1070's though. wouldn't post...

oh well...5 cards is enough for me.

Hi,

I believe 17.5.X should work with 6 gpus if you patch using atikmdag-patcher-1.4.5 utility.

thanks for the answers,

i came up with concluson that not all z270 mainboards support 6 gpus.

i buyed MSI Z270 TOMAHAWK but it only detects 4 gpus

Quote
The PCI_E2/ PCI_E5 slot will be unavailable when an expansion card has been installed in the PCI_E3/ PCI_E6 slot.

i tried to connect a pci-e splitter to the PCI_E1 and it detects 6 gpus now but out of the box no way to make it detect more than 4

If you're running into issues after 4 GPUs, it sounds more like a 4G encoding issue.
Did you install Windows in UEFI mode? Is "Above 4G Encoding" enabled in the bios? If you enable it and Windows doesn't boot, then you will have to reinstall Windows in UEFI mode.

thanks for the advice, i've tried all this, it helped me detect more than 4 gpus with splitters, but as i said:

this is not a software issue.

4 or 8Gb GPU? Isn't the speed what counts not the ram? Isn't 8gb a false economy? What are the pros and cons?  Huh

as alternative of the Asrock /2oJm6ua]http://[Suspicious link removed]/2oJm6ua bro btc 1 or /2oqj4aU]http://[Suspicious link removed]/2oqj4aUpro btc 2
found some of lower price 6 gpu and 7 gpu motherboards

7 gpu motherboards :

6 gpu motherboards

sure there is more motherboards but need more search time
if you have any of those please give a feedback

Thank you for taking the time to make this list. Have most of these been proven to work on all slots? Some motherboards have the slots but drivers/bios prevent all slots from working.

Gigabyte  GA-Z170X-GAMING 5 http://[Suspicious link removed]/2peJNvN  140$

is confirmed with 7 GPU.

I haven't been able to get 7 working on this board, only 6. @bitmakin how were you able to get 7 working?
