Hello.

I was wondering if anyone has or knows of a working PPCOIN P2Pool implementation?

I would love to add as many coins as possible to http://p2pool.org.

I would even be willing to pay

I would like to see this too. Is it possible to do pooled proof-of-stake mining?

Well, there are other PPCoin pools out there.

I don't see why there couldn't be a P2Pool implementation.

I am sure with time someone will port it.

As far as I know all of the existing pools only address PoW and not PoS.

Hang on, there is a Novacoin p2pool version, and it's PoS.

I believe it's possible, for the PoW aspect, which is really all that matters anyway.

p2pool development is on hold and discouraged for now, pending protocol support review.

Currently the top 3 ppc pools are:
D7: http://ppcoin.d7.lt
coinotron: http://coinotron.com
The Seven's: http://theseven.bounceme.net/~theseven/pool/

According to http://theseven.bounceme.net/~theseven/pool/netstats

System   Current hashrate   Number of blocks   51% attack hashrate
Proof of work   627.4 GH/s   101 (19.4%)   1615.1 GH/s
Proof of stake   239.9 MH/s   419 (80.6%)   148.9 MH/s

Is it possible that PPC was 51%ed?

For 51% attack on 627.4 GH/s  - you need 1615.1 GH/s + POS

PoW hash rate cannot directly 51% attack ppc network. There is only PoS 51% attack as block chain is protected solely by proof-of-stake.

Is p2pool support for PPC still non-existent and discouraged?

I don't understand why it would be discouraged.

There are plenty of other coins based off of PPC code that are on P2Pool.

NovaCoin for instance.

I get multiple emails a month asking for PPC on P2Pool.

I think it is something that should be encouraged.

Perhaps the people who want to see it should put more pressure on the developer of PPC.  Wink

And to be honest, looking at the source code on GitHub.

With the recent addition of getblocktemplate and submitblock, I don't see anything that is preventing it working with P2Pool.

I've been searching and waiting for this a long time, too.
I wouldn't want to guess the values to the networks.py file.

Good news, Sunny King is adding some final tweaks to support p2pool.

Quote
There will be a change with the release plan of peercoin. I have decided to include a minor protocol change for future p2pool support so the release will become a mandatory upgrade release.
