I think that it's more of what works for you and having a structure in place before such things can work and bear fruits, just take a look at Barcelona over the years, this is what they are used to doing, and it's what they are known for, which is breeding top quality youthful players into the team, and it's because of the fact that they have invested heavily into their academy over the years, and it's that academy that brought the legendary Lionel Messi, xavi, puyol, pique, busquet, andre iniesta, fabregas etc, so it doesn't start  this season, but with Manchester united, they have always done things their own way which also worked for them, just that things hasn't been quite good of late, especially before since sir Alex Ferguson left the club.

I am surprised that United don't have big stars on their forward line. Unlike United back in their glorious days. All these are what you check in a club to know if the club will progress or not. Ten Hag is an average coach who is scared of bringing big world class stars into the club due to inferiority complex.
