You're actually comparing 2 different players who also plays different positions and that comparison isn't fair at all. Both of them does their job differently, Tchoumeni is a defensive midfielder and his role is defined in the team, 2 seasons ago he played mostly as a defender which isn't part of his job but he had to adapt to it, he can't move beyond certain areas as a DM and we know that, Valverde plays as a central midfielder or as a Right back as the case may be, he performs better when his playing in his natural position. So technically I can't say who performed better than the other since it's different roles and both have been excellent in their respective positions.

However, I think the best option is to retain both players. They are key players for Real Madrid, having won many important matches together Their play is impressive.

Perez will not be that stupid to include Rodri I nthe list of the players he wants to sign to bring transformation to the Real Madrid team.
