After this announcement I'm sure clubs that wants him will be lining up for his signature but in my opinion, he should have focused more on this tournament instead of this distractions, focus on the national team till after the world cup then these things can come up, my opinion though.

Chelsea spent a lot of money not only last season but for 4 seasons Chelsea has always burned their money for several players and a quick change of coach.

Chelsea have really spent a fortune in recent years only to achieve thoroughly mediocre results, which is what happens when you dismantle the backbone of the team and try to force a replacement at any cost; it often doesn’t work. Now they’ve signed a young Italian player for 55 million, on a salary of 6 million euros a season, how do you think it’s going to turn out?

For now with Xabi they are expected to be able to improve their position at least exceeding the achievements obtained by Enzo Maresca but Xabi is not an instant coach and he needs time to achieve this but if Chelsea are not ready for this condition then it could be that the situation will not be different from previous seasons.

Marco Palestra was brought in and I think he has quite good potential with his age but of course what must be considered now is adaptation because being in Serie A with a fairly slow tempo of play then being in the EPL with big club pressure can make his adaptation a little disturbed so this needs to be considered by Marco Palestra and Xabi in order to maximize this potential young player.
If you look at how Marco Palestra performed last season in Serie A he has enough mobility which is actually very good but Serie A is certainly different from the EPL so this still needs proof.

His role may be different from Rodri because if you look at the pattern of play that Elliot Anderson has, he is one of the players who acts as a box to box and maybe later this will be combined with Rodri because he can set the tempo of the game and Elliot who functions as a box to box to maintain balance in midfield.

Currently Manchester City lost Bernardo as their wheel in midfield so Elliot Anderson I think is quite appropriate to fill the position that will be lost.
But for Manchester City, I'm actually more interested to see how the new coach makes almost the same expectations as Pep left.

Due to how poor they were at the back last season, signing two top central back is a must if they want to change the narrative this season, because strong attacks wins you games, but if you want to win trophies, you need to be solid at the back, that's why I am impressed with the type of player they are going for this days, unlike in the past seasons when they will be going for kids that can't walk straight into the team.

Players like cholaba, fofana, Tosin and badiachile needs to be sold because they are not good enough to play consistently at the top, that's why I feels like a clear out is needed if things must change under xabi Alonso, because if he still use this same set of defenders, his tactical approach and teaching will still not stop them from making unnecessary mistakes at the back.

Premier League has a transfer market of its own. This player isn't worth such huge sums, but those kinds of fees are paid in the Premier League.

Despite a great season at Barcelona, where he scored 14 goals and assisted 14, he was not resigned and that must be very disappointing. He never really had great interest in Tottenham move. No Champions League, lower goal level than where he has been. If the only reason to transfer is money, that is not good base to start a transfer at this time in his career. But, with Carrick keen to have him back at United, it is different story. New beginning with manager who thinks highly of him and Champions League football is better than joining Spurs for a pay cheque. However, if United are considering his proper reintroduction into squad, other than just resting him again, then it is certainly wiser choice to stay.

Liverpool last season transfer spendings has done more harm than good in the market restructuring. Although Elliot is a class, offering versatility but this price is wild and will actually make things difficult for other transfers including outside the EPL and this is beyond the fact that he is an English player, although that's still the factor here.

Since i started watching football i have never witness this kind of transfer window before, all players are too expensive even the ones that did not worth the price, Elliot Anderson prices me and i don’t know why Manchester City sign the player even when he did not worth the price to me, the transfer market is crazy and seeing players below 40 million euros is difficult, when Barcelona sign Gordon i thought the price is too much and Barcelona wasted money to sign him instead of signing Rashford for just 30 million euros.

To be honest Elliot is not worth 130 million euros because there are many midfielders who are better than him, his last two games in the World Cup for England is not that bad but he did not impress me at all, Manchester City is the only team that can afford the player and  I hope he performs well and make the team proud of how much they sign him.

Rashford will prefer to go to a different club instead, of Tottenham. His performance in the world is impressive for now.

Carrick should call back Marcus Rasford to the team to strengthen his front line more, Man united will be participating in different competition next season the premier league, UCL, FA cup and Carling cup they won't only be using same strikers in all of these competitions. Rasford is good player can he can still perform very well in Man united with the current improvement of the club now and i also believe he will do well under coach Micheal carrick.

A player's price can sometimes be unreasonable because their parent club sets a high price, but that's just the way football is these days.
Considering Elliot's abilities, the price might be within expectations, but compared to other players, it's a bit high.
Manchester City is a wealthy club and will do anything to bring in the players they need, especially with Pep Guardiola's departure. The English media were the one's that did this dirty job for Nottingham Forest because their is no way they would have made Manchester City to pay so much for this player if they were not constantly hyping him, and making anything he does looks extra ordinary, because their is nothing special about this lad that would warrant them to spend so much on him.

Nottingham Forest and Manchester City agreeing a deal for Elliot Anderson isn't a shock to me either because ever since Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan became the majority owner of Manchester City, Manchester City has been paying crazy money to sign players. Since Elliot Anderson made it clear that he prefer a move to Manchester City over Manchester United, that even made the transfer easier for Manchester city because they don't need to convince Elliot Anderson to join them anymore.
