You didn't say the same when Manchester City over paid for Elliot Anderson but you think Tottenham Hotspur did overpay. The market messed up, I do think it is the core reason why Manchester United opt out from getting him likewise. If West Ham had lowered their demand maybe he would've been a Manchester United player by now cause he's their main target for Casemiro's replacement. Jose Mourinho is trying to fix Real Madrid mistakes in previous seasons and seems to be more focused on the midfield and defense, Mourinho will definitely sell players who are not considered part of his plans and recruit players that Mourinho needs. I hope he can make Real Madrid rise again to at least win the La Liga title or the Champions League as an experienced coach Mourinho must show his abilities and dispel rumors about his old fashioned coaching system. Bastoni is a great signing, he is Inter Milan mainstay defender. We know what Inter Milan defense was like last season. This was a quiet deal that I did not see coming or maybe there was no follow-up search after because the last I saw about Matheus Fernandes, Manchester United were the most interested club. For a team that are relegated, that price was a big catch and really overrated even for his performance.

Manchester United would rather have a better option like Anderson, because personally I think he's a better player than Matheus Fernandes but it is quite unfortunate that Manchester City hijacked that deal. Man United are very slow with their signings this season and I really hope they don't make the wrong decision with a rash signing approaching close of window.

Seeing what Madrid do in the transfer window, consistently targeting defenders, will be very interesting if they can control the defense well next season. Bastoni, Cucurela, Dumfries, Konate, even Rudiger. These are all players with extraordinary strength, stamina, and defensive instincts. Barcola's performance with the French national team was actually quite good. This might be what made the two clubs more interested in him. I guess Barcola isn’t the first choice either, but since both clubs failed in negotiations for the players they initially selected, their focus eventually turned to Barcola.

As for the price, I can’t really comment. But I’m sure negotiations can still happen and the price could be more flexible if PSG really intends to sell him.

You know that it's a negotiation battle, when another club bids higher and the player also reaches an agreement with the team, where is the violation? Is it really not allowed for Madrid to target what Barcelona is targeting? Business will take what is more profitable, right? And I think it's too silly for Madrid to just interfere with Barcelona's transfer, and then buy the player who doesn't want him, why buy expensive if the player is not wanted.
