Fulham didn't just bring him, Marco was done with Fulham, he has secured another job with Benfica, so I it was the right call to bring Arbeloa and if it's because what the team has done, I'm pretty sure that Fulham will better than where they finiah last season. If we look at how Arbeloa manage the condition of Real Madrid, you wlll know that he is the kind of person that can make use of available resources to get better result even if you don't give him money to get new players.
Arbeloa when in Madrid can not be confused with Arbeloa at Fulham because the squad composition is also much different. So don't expect too much that at Fulham he can provide instant success. Fulham is not such a favorite team and its existence in the English League is not as attractive as the top teams.

Where and how will Manchester United deploy a player who failed to deliver the expected impact at Chelsea? If Carrick specifically requested this player, he surely has a plan in mind.
The player made 25 appearances last season, recording 3 goals and 4 assists. He might not be able to fill Casemiro's shoes immediately.

Why not? United has already brought him in, and Casemiro also went to Inter Miami. It all depends on how the coach views his abilities. If he gets playing time and is trusted in the team, he has a chance to prove that he’s capable.
He’s already here and deserves to be given a chance. Or maybe United has another plan to bring in some players for that position.

I think Fulham took a risk by bringing in Arbeloa. Arbeloa is a manager who couldn't even find success with Real Madrid's excellent squad. It's very difficult to predict what he can achieve with an average team in the challenging Premier League atmosphere. There's also the possibility he might not be there by mid-season, which we need to discuss. For the Spanish manager, his time at Real Madrid was already going to be a career leap, and he seems to have achieved that.

I hope Leão wouldn't end his career early by going to Saudi Arabia at 27 already... I think there would be teams in Europe to be interested in for sure. He is still a talented player in the end.  Smiley

He has just had personal problems at Milan. This has reflected on his performance at the same time. He makes around 6.5 million euros per year without bonuses right now. Not a very high salary to be paid by another European team...
Saudi Arabian clubs are offering huge salaries, and that has had some influence on Leao’s decision, he seems to be starting to consider a move to the SPL. I also hope that Leao doesn’t go to the SPL just yet; after all, at 27 years old and still performing well, it shouldn’t be too difficult for him to find a club in Europe. After all, there are reportedly several clubs in Europe interested in him. But who knows, maybe Leao wants to go to the SPL solely because of the huge salary offer.

One thing I like about Saudi Arabia clubs is that the don't mind paying any huge amount of money where it goes to acquiring competent players to their team, and this is one thing I wanted us to also consider as a major factor that lead to an increase in boosting a particular team for supportive performance if they are not financially arrogant in going for the best at all cost, you can see from other teams in Saudi Arabia and how they have been acquiring more players into their local teams, a good example was Ronaldo.
That is indeed the only way for Saudi Arabian clubs to attract top European players to join their ranks. If it weren’t for the high salaries, players from European leagues wouldn’t want to go to the SPL. Especially those under the age of 30. Saudi Arabian clubs are indeed spending lavishly to bring in top players because their sole goal is to make the SPL more widely known.
I don't think it's normal for Saudi Arabia to spend so much money. FIFA should take some measures regarding this. Because this goes against the spirit of equality in football. If they continue to spend money like this, those teams could become much stronger. They are paying huge sums of money to acquire young players from Europe. China and India did this at one point, but the strategy backfired for them after a while. I don't know if this will happen in Saudi Arabia, but if they don't achieve their goals, it could lead to a long period of crisis and economic hardship for their football teams.
Yeah, that’s true, I hadn’t realized that. I’ve only just come to realize this: why doesn’t FIFA enforce the Financial Fair Play rules on SPL teams? Is FIFA afraid of them, or is FIFA deliberately turning a blind eye to their actions in exchange for some kind of benefit.

However, I think SPL teams will sooner or later face the same fate as China and India because they’re building their leagues not on a foundation of sound quality but solely on money. And even if you analyze it, there’s a huge imbalance between the clubs’ expenses and revenue from their transfer policies.

I agree with what you just said here because that's just my sentiment about this. If he cannot do very well with a top team like real madrid that have exceptional players in all areas of the pitch, then how are we sure that he can produce a fine result with this average Fulham team?  Though some football fans may argue that the pressure and the expectation at real madrid is way out of his league, that's why he can't function properly, but am very curious to see how his first ten games at Fulham will be, if he may even last up to that period of time, no disrespect to him.

Quote
There's also the possibility he might not be there by mid-season, which we need to discuss.
Just like I have said already, their is a great chance that he may not last up to ten games, which I may be wrong, but since he will be having a lot of time during preseason to work with his players, he wouldn't have much excuses to give if he can't deliver. I just hope am wrong about this because it seems like a big gamble in my own perspective.

Snip
I’m not entirely convinced by the rumor that Manchester United is targeting Santos. In my opinion, Santos isn’t a good signing for Manchester United because, as you said, his performance hasn’t been impressive. Manchester needs to learn from the mistakes it’s made in player recruitment in the past. I’d like to see Manchester United sign players who truly fit their philosophy and style of play so that their signings aren’t in vain.
Instead of recruiting Santos from Chelsea, who has not yet proven capable of securing a first-team place, the club should prioritize recruits who have proven maturity and fit into the coach system. Now is not the time to experiment, Man United must do something shocking to compete with Arsenal in the title race, after all, they have just secured a place in the Champions League after being absent from the competition for the past few seasons.
Learning from experience is a good strategy to save money on players whose quality is not yet proven, especially since Man United previously made a failed investment when recruiting Onana. The midfield position has become an urgent need for Man United after Casemiro's departure and Manuel Ugarte's injury. I think Man United would be better off considering other names like Ederson, Tchouameni, and Carlos Baleba rather than Santos.
That’s exactly how it should be. Manchester United needs to sign a great, experienced midfielder, one who’s at least on par with Casemiro. After all, Manchester United will be playing in the Champions League next season. So it’s not enough to just have great players; they also need to be experienced, because in the Champions League, you need players who possess that combination of qualities. So please don’t make the same mistake again, Manchester United.
I expect Manchester United to have a very strong squad next year. They will add even stronger players to the team this summer. Last year, by adding a good manager to their existing players, they rose to the Champions League qualification zone. So, it seems the problem last year was the manager. This year, with some good transfers, Manchester United can reach a better level. I really want to see the Red Devils as the quality Manchester United of the past.
I also expect Manchester United to have a strong squad that’s ready to compete for titles in various competitions. So far, Manchester United has signed Ederson and Carlos Baleba to strengthen the midfield following Casemiro’s departure. And it seems Manchester United hasn’t stopped recruiting players yet; reportedly, there are still a few more players on their radar. Therefore, I’m optimistic that under Carrick’s leadership, Manchester United will once again become a strong team because he’s the right coach to lead the club.

Man UTD have finally secured the Brazilian midfielder's signature. I believe he'd do well at Man UTD more than Chelsea and will do well depending on how Carrick will use him or he could cover Casemiro wing as well.

He had little minutes on the pitch for Chelsea but whenever he was called upon, he always gave his best. He was never a mid player for them, I don't say this because he just signed for Manchester United but as it should be. I doubt he is the Casemiro replacement but he is more of a 6 than a 8 whenever I see and watch him. I will be rooting for him and I hope to see Manchester United add to more quality midfielders who technically sound.

Aside from the rivalry, as a Barcelona fan I really wanted Careras to sign for Barcelona is that thought would be entertained by him because last season he was excellent, one of the only left backs to stop Yamal
Indeed, it would be nice if Careras was recruited by Barcelona, but that will not happen given the rivalry of the two clubs. Even if that happens it will cause a heated debate between the two clubs and their fans. Plus Carreras is still a layer for Cucurella, because Madrid will have a long season so that even reserve players must be ready whenever needed.

I am very happy for Arbeloa because he has prove that he is going to become a good coach in the future, he did not succeed at Real Madrid after he was appointed when Alonso was sacked but it is not a surprise because we all know that Real Madrid is too big for him and that was his first time as a first team coach, he was coaching Real Madrid academy before he was appointed as a new coach but he proved that he can do better because he bring out the best of some players and fight in the Champions League even when Real Madrid is not doing better.

Going to Fulham is going to be a good move for him because Fulham have players who are going to obey him and there are some news that he wanted to sign some young players from Real Madrid to join Fulham because he believes that he will bring the best out of the players, his first game is going to be against Chelsea and his best friend Alonso is a Chelsea which will be more exciting for many fans to watch how two incredible young coaches are going to do.
I don't think Arbeloa will achieve anything truly significant with Fulham. Managing Real Madrid was a huge opportunity for him to take his coaching career to the next level, but since that didn't happen, he now has to prove himself at a mid table club like Fulham. This will be a real test for him, if Fulham consistently finishes in mid table, he'll likely earn the reputation of being a mid table manager. And if the club ends up fighting relegation, it could have a serious negative impact on his future career prospects.
I'm not expecting much from Fulham even with Abeloa as head coach. It's only if they sign good players and sell some of the old ones, I know the team will be strengthen. If they're still using this same old players and want a magic from Abeloa it means that they're not taking things serious. I still see him as an average coach until, he proves me wrong.

He's still inexperienced to an extent and his duty for now is to keep them in the league not winning the league if he can do something beyond that it would be plus to his profile, like helping them win the FA or Carabao Cup if possible. Although the pressure with coaching Fulham would reduce compared to what he faced at Real Madrid.

Every coach has their choice of players and I'm pretty sure he won't trust all the players he met in the club, after accessing the team, he'll give the board a list of players he likes then the ones he can't work with would be sold, moreover some players who are admired by bigger clubs would move if they get better offers so either ways, he'll definitely get new signings to work with, except the board is stingy in releasing funds for transfers.
Fulham is an average club and will continue to be an average club which is why you see that they wouldn't bother if Arbeloa maintain the team performance without moving forward but at least, there should be a little bit of improvement with him. If not, I see it as a wrong decision to hire a coach that wouldn't focus on moving forward on the table from season to season.

This three clubs just recycled managers between themselves, Mourinho left Benfica to Real Madrid and then Marco Silva to Benfica and now Arbeloa to Fulham that’s a full cycle completed. Personally I think Arbeloa can do better here because he will be having less noise than in Real Madrid plus he will be under less pressure than in Madrid too because the expectations here are quite simple which is beyond staying in the league and not get relegated he should simply finish in the top half of the table. But should he get any European competition place finish that will be a very great season for him.

For comparison of Marco Silva and Arbeloa I think Marco Silva in my opinion edges past Arbeloa due to years of coaching experience, Marco Silva has a been one of those average managers I know will get a big team job, I even expected this for long but probably the Benfica route will be his best. For Arbeloa I don’t think he has actually done much to maybe have say of the kind of manager he is. This particular job is perfect for him to prove is worth

Every one have their expectations about him, well he posses so good quality but the big question his is he really that player Manchester United really need in a season they will be going into the champions league. For me I doubt if av tree e spending 50 million ponds Manchester United can really spend a huge sum to bring in a quality midfielder.

I don’t expect them to bringing in any more midfielder that will be worth 80million or so. Maybe he is the casimero replacement. I have not been impressed by Manchester United transfers so far. They really need to do better.

I don’t think Arbeloa is as bad as you might imagine. He’s the coach who led Real Madrid to a second-place finish last season with a point total that put them well ahead of several teams below them. On the other hand I think Arbeloa has the right strategy to help Fulham improve their performance. And I’m sure Fulham sees the potential Arbeloa has to help them improve in the coming season. He also managed to knock out Manchester City while coaching Real Madrid in a recent Champions League match. So I personally think that Arbeloa shouldn’t be underestimated even though his coaching track record isn’t very long. And I’m confident he has the ability to help Fulham compete with the top teams in the Premier League. He might just surprise us by improving Fulham’s performance early in the season. Let’s see how he handles Fulham in the upcoming matches, where he might just surprise us next month or even when they face Chelsea later on.

It's a good choice and if Real Madrid included a buy back clause then it makes it more better incase the player develops well in his new club, I know many people would be against this cause he's younger and has potential to be great as a leftback in Madrid but there's too many options for that role and one needed to go.

It's better he's sold than halting his development with bench warming. Anyone who still doubts Mourinho probably doesn't know what he's capable of in the right setting. If Real Madrid gives him everything he needs to make the team successful, he'll give them a result beyond their expectations.

Fulham is not competing in the Premier League. They're just playing for survival and not to be relegated to lower division. Arbeola or whatever his name is will not be playing under pressure unlike when he was hired by Madrid that was in direct contest with Barcelona. He has nothing to worry even if plays to finish mid table because that is exactly where Fulham belongs. Coming to Fulham is like coming home to rest after hectic job at Real Madrid. If he is careful and not leading them to relegation, he's fine with his new job. I wish him good luck.

Before you knew it he's surprise us all in this Fulham team, the team is the exception at Real Madrid is different from that of Fulham, no one is expecting him to win the league here in Fulham but rather he should try his best to keep the team relevant, and again there are too many of star players at that Real Madrid team that thinks themselves too big to be controlled, but here in Fulham he will get more say than when he was at Real Madrid, so you never can tell he might shock people come next season, I'm believing on that.

This was one of the good players for Chelsea although he's been seen as a bench warmer because he lacks playing minutes at Stamford Bridge. Andrey Santos to Manchester United, how well do Manchester United fans rate this signings? Well the Brazilian have proven to be one of the Formidable mid fielder for Manchester United. I think Michael Carrick will make him play a pivotal role in the midfield and fill the void left wide open by Casemiro who will no longer be a part of the team because he already made a move to join Inter Miami.

Yeah. At Chelsea, Santos wasn't giving the chance to show how good he was and the little time he got, he tried to do his best. He's got more goals than Liam Delap who is their striker. Andre Santos will fill the roles of Casemiro; they are both Brazilians and can control the midfield properly. Casemiro served Man UTD well and even though we didn't see the best of him last season, he still came through for them on major occasions.

If you look at the domino effect of coaching changes next season, it's quite interesting, with Mourinho going from Benfica to Real Madrid, Marco Silva from Fulham to Benfica, and Álvaro Arbeloa from Real Madrid to Fulham. I don't know if this is a coincidence or if there's a behindthe-scenes arrangement. Cheesy

Of course, Albeloa coaching Fulham will be different because the squad he has won isn't the same as when he coached Real Madrid, and Fulham is also a team in the middle of the standings. But I think Albeloa decision to coach Fulham is the right choice. At Fulham, he won't face the same pressure as when he coached Real Madrid, allowing him to comfortably develop his strategy and providing an opportunity to prove his potential as a coach.

However, there's one interesting aspect about Albeloa's time at Fulham he'll face Alanso in the first week. This will be an interesting development for Arbeloa and Alonso friendship. The two grew up together in the Real Sociedad academy before reuniting at Liverpool, then becoming teammates at Real Madrid and the Spanish national team. Their relationship extends beyond on field roles, as close friends who support each other. Now, they will be seeing each other more often as fellow coaches in the Premier League.

I want you to know that Mohamed Salah flopped at Chelsea but when he joined Liverpool he performed very well and helped Liverpool win a lot of trophies. So if Andrey Santos doesn't live up to the expectations at Chelsea it doesn't mean he would do the same at Manchester United, it could be that Chelsea was even the reason why he didn't do well. We have seen how Micheal Carrick has been able to use the players other coaches couldn't use to win matches consistently and finished third in the 2025/2026 Premier League season; if a lot Manchester United players that weren't doing could do well under Michael Carrick management, Andrey Santos has a chance of doing well at Manchester United.

I agree with your submission. Allowing Fran Garcia to join Real Betis was surely a very good decision both for Real Madrid and the player who will definitely be getting enough playing minutes next season.

I know that with the signing of Marc Cucurella from Chelsea, either of Ferland Mendy or Fran Garcia will be forced to leave so I wasn't surprised that Jose Mourinho allowed Garcia to leave.

The interesting thing about his move is Real Madrid will have to get 50% of any fee that'll will be payed for his signature anytime Real Betis decides to sell him. I think he'll succeed in Betis and reestablish himself as one of the best left back in Spain.
