Well, Xavi has had quite a long break, I think he's well rested and ready to go. This will be Xavi's first time coaching a national team, he's never coached a national team before, only worked with a clubs. But I think it will be an interesting experience for him. And the Netherlands national team is very good, with great potential, so I think Xavi will have a lot to work on here. Especially since Xavi himself said he's close to Dutch football, which is based on possession.
Few days ago, Roberto Martinez was on the rader to become the next Netherlands manager but the deal didn't go through because he wasn't the favorite manager to take over, his records at Portugal didn't tally. Xavi Hernandez been announced as Netherlands headcoach, I'm thinking it's a good start for the Spaniard and also for Netherlands. This is a fresh start and we expect the very best from Xavi Hernandez because he's well experienced and will do everything to make sure he's winning something with the county.
Xavi had been very keen to manage a team for several years. The fact that he did it with the Dutch national team is certainly a stroke of luck for the Netherlands. I thought he would manage a club, but he chose to manage a national team. Now it's time for extensive research and selecting the best players from the pool to play accordingly.

From the reports I read recently, I think they're still very much interested in Julian Alvarez and might be bringing him to Camp Nou this summer. But if they fail to sign the Atletico Madrid striker, they'll still get another quality striker to replace the outcome players.
They've always been interested since Lewandowski left , it is  just Atletico that doesn't  want to mek the move happen at all. Infact, they want Alvarez to apologise to Simone the next rime they meet at the in training. It is quite obvious that his ucontract has placed shackles on him and it will be hard to get free of it.

There are other strikers they can go for and definitely I think they will sign one before the transfer windows ends. This is a good plan for both parties, Barcelona will sort themselves out.

Strikers like? I mean the one that can fit into the kind of forwards pattern that deco and Flick is building .I don't  see much .
There's high chance that Raphinha will be their false 9 this season.

I can’t wait to see the miracle Barcelona plan on performing this season. They lost their key player Lewandowski last season and haven’t found a replacement for him yet. And now, they are about to sell Torres to PSG. Do they really believe that Gordon can fill the role? Tbh I didn’t really pay much attention to him when he was in Newcastle but I doubt he’s that good. Plus the deal for Rodri still hasn’t been concluded, and with less than 15 days left in the transfer window Barcelona may just end up with no striker and a hole in the midfield.

For now one of the most difficult position to find players is at the forefront, apart from the likes of lewandowski, Haaland,  osimen and are few, it is very difficult seeing a player with such natural qualities. Now Barcelona have lost lewandowski and are also about to lose ferran torres to PSG the only player they have for now to fill that gap as rumour may have it, it will be a very difficult season for Barcelona and may even end up not going home with anything. Though they are out to get a replacement but it will be very difficult getting a player as good as lewandowski at that front line

It is still too early to say that it will be a more difficult season for Barca, because although it would be quite hard to find a replacement for Lewandowski and with Ferran possibly moving to PSG, they still have some very good players this season. moreover, they have just signed Gordon and Adeyemi, and Rodri is very likely to join too.. so their situation is not bad at all, in fact, with the squad they have now, they may be even more competitive this season.

There are still around 2 more weeks before the summer transfer window closes and it looks like with the rumours out now they still want to maximise Julian's transfer though the situation still remains complicated even if it is forced.

But if the worst possibility they do not get any targetman then I think they will impose some players like Adeyemi or maybe want to give more time to Hamza Abdelkarim as a benchmark of their attacking line with flanked by 2 winger who still remains a mainstay for Flick in their attack scheme.

It's going to be quite risky but it looks like Flick wants to try to adapt Enrique's style of play that for the last 2 seasons at PSG they performed without a pure striker in their squad.
The first option will remain to look for a striker for the remainder of the summer transfer window but if they are confident of a young squad in attack then Abdelkarim will be projected as their future progression.

How will Barcelona manage their attacking position if this guy Ferran Torres finally joins the current CL champions? Since they don't have Lewandowski in the picture Ferran should be next in line to continue from where the Poland striker stopped, although Torres has been the man at the front before Lewandowski came but how would Barcelona manage if they lose Ferran too? What's their next option?
Robert Lewandowski is out already, if Ferran Torres leaves again this summer and join Paris Saint Germaine, I think Barcelona will definitely be signing at least a World Class striker.

From the reports I read recently, I think they're still very much interested in Julian Alvarez and might be bringing him to Camp Nou this summer. But if they fail to sign the Atletico Madrid striker, they'll still get another quality striker to replace the outcome players.
I don’t understand the here we go soon, I’m only familiar with the terms here we go from Fabrizio Romano, Anyways let me get into the discussion real quick, Barcelona basically doesn’t need Ferran Torres which is why they want to sanction this move, I think Torres is viewed as Bradley Barcola replacement who is attracting so much interest from different clubs in Europe, Barcelona already have a replacement for Torres which is Gordon who was bought in this summer transfer window, Barcelona signed Kareem Adeyemi from Dortmund, so I believe they have enough fire power already, Barcelona have been interested in Julian Alvarez but the deal have been difficult because Athletico Madrid is reluctant to sell, I’m hearing rumors of interest in Martinez of Inter Milan.

Barcelona is largely retaining its championship-winning squad from last year. They've even added Gordon from Newcastle United. After acquiring a good striker, they won't feel the absence of Robert Lewandowski, but this will of course require spending money. Barcelona is a bit behind in the transfer market and needs to close that gap quickly. Real Madrid, on the other hand, has signed very good players in many positions. They now have a much larger and more versatile squad. I think we'll see a much stronger Real Madrid than last year.
What do you expect Barcelona do, sell those players? seeing how their major opponent team league rival Madrid is busy strengthening their team against next, best is what they did so far retain those and new strength to the team.

With all this signings that Real Madrid have done this summer so far, plus with the signing of Jose Mourhino as their manager, we hopefully going to see a better Madrid this season.

It is not hard to find a replacement for Lewandowski, someone at his prime age that will do the job better than Lewandoski, Barcelona are not just looking in that direction. I am getting more scared of Real Madrid than Barcelona, can't wait till the season begins to rate their performance, even with Ferran Torres, Barcelona should go for a deadly striker like Osimhen to replace Lewandowski.

Do not worry about Barcelona, they won the La Liga back to back despite having insufficient players so they can still do it again even without those players who helped them win the La Liga. Lewandowski was superb in his performance for Barcelona but that doesn't mean that his absence will cause a loophole in his position. Ferran Torres transfer deal to PSG is what will become a problem for Barcelona because he is one player that rescues the team in matches where the other best players are finding it difficult. As for Gordon, he is just new to the team so it will take him quite a few time to be able to discover what he will be good at. I think that Rodri is interested in a deal to Barcelona so hopefully, before the transfer market will close, Barcelona should be able to seal the deal.

These days have been pretty eventful. Superstar players are switching teams among the biggest clubs.

Ferran Torres looks set to join PSG. He didn't show up for the last training session. Meanwhile, PSG is preparing to send Barcola to Liverpool.
Chelsea has given Manchester City until Friday to make a move for Enzo Fernandez. A fee of £120 million is being discussed. Crazy figures are all around these moves.

We'll see some major transfers before the window closes. We're experiencing the most exciting moments of the off-season. Teams are spending more every year, like there's no tomorrow.

Barcelona already think about the alternative and they are heavily linked with Alvarez and also thinks a out the backup of Alvarez. If Alvarez join Barca their project will be completed and they ready for new season. And it's impossible to see Barcelona without a main striker next season they already linked with Lautaro as well if Alvarez deal collapsed. But as a Barcelona fan I happy for Feran departure because they are the main problem Barcelona didn't win a champion league they are not a constant player and most of time theybare very outform player. And actually Barcelona did very well bargain with psg . Barcelona sign Ferran Torres form Manchester City at arround $50 million and now they are selling for $60 to $70 million it's actually a win win bargain for barcelona.

With what I'm seeing Atletico Madrid will not sell Alvarez to Barcelona, it will be better if they change their plan, over their attention to some other club because if they continue hoping on getting Alvarez signature, they'd wait till the end of the transfer window without getting the player. Nobody knows what will happen next but we still have to wait and see if ATM will change their mind on selling to Barcelona.
I never believed a Barcelona fan would say this about Ferran Torres, instead you'd say the player didn't show up at the World Cup, that I'd agree but at Barcelona he is one of the strikers that doesn't mess up in front of goal after the big man Lewandowski. Torres departure is the reason Barcelona are in a rush to get a striker, losing two good strikers in one transfer window isn't helpful to the club and you should know that, this guy is an important player for Barcelona but if you feel is good for him to leave then I'd wish for Barcelona not to get any striker let me see how they'd manage against club like Atletico Madrid and Madrid.

I congratulate him on his new job with the Deutsche national team, I am very certain that he’ll make a very good coach there because during his last management of team in the club side, he didn’t do bad but was just unlucky on the season he was sacked. Xavi was a great player and he’ll also make a very good manager to the Netherlands national team. This is a very big task for him and selecting the best of players is very important for him to farewell with the national team. His first big challenge I think will be the Euros, until then we shall get to see how he manages this team to success.

After failing to secure Alverez, it looks like they're not going to go for any other striker, and besides,. it's not like there are so many options in the market at the moment. I think what flick might eventually try out/end up with, is to play a front 3 without an actual striker. That's what Enrique has been using for the past few seasons, and judging by the fact that his players are very versatile, it has worked for him. I also think something similar can work for Hansi Flick, but I don't know how difficult it's going to be especially after combining it with their high line football... But time will eventually tell.

I congratulate him on his new job with the Deutsche national team, I am very certain that he’ll make a very good coach there because during his last management of team in the club side, he didn’t do bad but was just unlucky on the season he was sacked.

He took over as head coach of the Dutch team (Netherlands), not the German one. Deutsche and Dutch are different things. Grin

I hope Xavi succeeds there. After all, he's a Barca legend and comes from the Cruyff - Netherlands - Barcelona school of thought. So he's familiar with the team's philosophy and will try to have them play a similar style of football.

Coaching a national team seems to me like a job best suited for older, more experienced managers. That's because they spend much less time with the players throughout the year and play far fewer matches. I think it makes more sense for young managers like Xavi to coach a club team and play 50-60 matches a year. That way, they can stay active and continue to develop their skills.

Yep, it's the business time of the transfer period. PSG has turned out to be a magnet for some of the players, especially after bagging those two Champions League titles in a row. I wouldn't be surprised if that is one of the reasons Ferran Torres is leaving Barcelona. Ofcourse there is also a money factor  Wink

That £120 million price tag for Enzo Fernandez is crazy as hell, but of course it's an All England Club transaction, so it's not surprising.

Nobody has posted, so I’ll do..

The Netherlands have appointed Xavi Hernandez the position of the Head Coach of the Dutch national team untill 2030, and its Official. What do you think about this appointment? Do you think Xavi Hernandez can deliver something tangible with the Dutch national team in the upcoming Euros? Share your thoughts..
A risky choice, is not it? I meant Xavi has ever coached Barcelona, but he only has short experience as manager in the top club's level. So i guess it's too early for him for this because he's also lacking of experience in the coaching various clubs with different type of players.
If he ever coached various top clubs, then i can understand it if he moves up to coach national team. But i still think he still lacks of experience.

So i can only guess he takes this job by aware coaching national team will give him less pressures, but more money.  Cheesy

If it is that easy to get a replacement for Lewandowski then what do you think is stopping Barcelona from making that move since the season will be starting in one week time ? There are young players all over Europe but you know the current financial strength of Barcelona and how they are managing to sign players now if you think they shouldn't be worried then you should be ready to hand over the league to Real Madrid next season because Jose Mourinho will not do all the signings in vain he will win the league title ahead of Barcelona with the squad depth they have in the team right now.

I do not think its easy to find a replacement player, and not even the signing of Osimhen could be a way to “solve” the problem because it is not enough just to find a top level striker, the problem is finding someone who reproduces the same goal scoring rate of Lewandowski, the same physical presence, his reading of the goalkeeper's area and the connection with the flanks of pitch that I do not see other striker doing with the same perfection as him.

But, I am not saying that Osimhen is bad, he would be an excellent signing if Barcelona wants to change the style of attack.... he is a player who offers a lot of explosiveness, depth, with physical strength and a lot of presence in the area, this would make Barcelona much more dangerous in transitions and against high defensive lines, but its a different style that will change the rhythm of the game and needs collaboration and understanding with the other players, that is because I said that its not just about replacing him and solving the problem.

Meanwhile, City continues to flood the market with money, there is a feeling that Maresca will turn out to be the same genius as Pep  Roll Eyes
Now, Adresson has already been bought for 135 million, and negotiations are underway regarding Enzo Fernandez (amounting to 130-140 million), plus the purchase of Bouaddi is possible for 120-130 million. It seems that spending around half a billion in one transfer window is becoming the norm, and even selling Rodri (if it happens at all) will not improve the balance.
If the transfers of Enzo and Bouaddi take place, I wouldn't be surprised if the bookmakers' odds for the title holder change. City have historically been strong at "buying" titles.
I still don't see how they are allowed to spend that much money. And what happened to the investigation about the fake/inflated sponsorship? Because basically City were sponsoring themselves, they only had to change some numbers in the contracts and they would fix any money problem...

The roles of Gordon and Adeyemi should not be used as a comparison for Ferran and Lewa for now because after all their positions and roles on the field will be slightly different although both are said to be attacking players but the position will still be different.

Flick very rarely plays without a pure striker (CF) in the squad and when imposing this for the current season then it could be a little dangerous for Barcelona because even though they have good attacking power with their tiki taka style but when finishing poorly because there is no targetman there it could interfere with them in terms of goal productivity.

So I think it would be better for Barcelona to now focus on finding a new alternative to the US number 9 striker who is suitable as a replacement for Lewandowski as well as their foundation in attack next season.
