There's news that Chelsea youngster Josh Acheampong has officially moved to Coventry City FC. It seems Frank Lampard is the mastermind behind this transfer. Acheampong is versatile. He can play as a right-back, but can also be used as a center-back. Josh Acheampong has a transfer value of €25 million. He wasn't bad at Chelsea either. He made 20 Premier League appearances and scored 1 goal. At just 20 years old, he's a long-term project for the club.

Source:  https://sundayguardianlive.com/sports/coventry-city-transfer-news-frank-lampard-keen-to-sign-chelsea-youngster-josh-acheampong-before-window-closes-blues-soften-stance-football-transfers-live-updates-261896/
It's a sense idea. Sending him to Coverntry will help him to develop himself better with Lampard as his guidance. As long as it's not a permanent deal, it will be so good for him because i believe Lampard will guarantee him minutes in EPL. So one or two long season loan must be enough.
No need to sell him as a permanent tarnsfer when his contract is still lasting until 2029.

His chance to start may be getting lesser because Chelsea has lacroix comes as their new CB. So it's likely he's gonna warm bench and i support this transfer. But i strongly against the idea to sell him. He's diamond in the making.
Hope Chelsea consider this option for him.

For Acheampong it is good to be loaned out to a team like Coventry because he will surely be a starter there and will have a lot matches to play and gain a lot of experience. Plus with Lampard as the coach of Coventry it will be good for him because Lampard was a long time in Chelsea and knows their ways so for him this is really good. I just dont know if Coventry can buy him out at one point, because most of the deals are based on that. If he is 25 mil surely Coventry can buy him out at the end of thes season if they are satisfied.

I hope we don't let him go entirely rather he develop better because there are still room for him to improve greatly for us to compete against top teams and hopefully thus is a good one.

I still don't see how they are allowed to spend that much money. And what happened to the investigation about the fake/inflated sponsorship? Because basically City were sponsoring themselves, they only had to change some numbers in the contracts and they would fix any money problem...
Are they out of their minds?! 85 millions for Savinho? Is this a joke? He barely played at City, what did he do to deserve such a high asking price? But the worst thing is Tottenham actually agreeing to pay 85 millions for him. Once again I just don't understand it, year after year we are seeing more and more transfers in the English domestic market that make no sense at all.

Roll Eyes Haven't you begun to understand what's going on here yet?
City used to fund themselves through fake contracts, now they maintain the appearance of compliance with the Financial Fair Play (aka PSR, aka SCR-SSR) with the help of inflated transfers. I have no other explanation for how they buy players and then after these players fail (or just didn't show much progress), sell them for a higher price.
It seems to me that a significant part of the current prices is the cost of machinations, as always in the end it is the clubs that conduct business honestly that lose out.
Of course I think there is something shady going on, but that would mean the whole Premier League is corrupted, if any information is leaked it would be a huge scandal and I can't even imagine the consequences.
In this specific case, for Savinho, it would mean City and Tottenham are agreeing to a fake sale, like they tell the FA and the public they sold the player for 85 millions when in reality Tottenham paid, let's say, 50 millions. And just like we believe there is something shady somebody will do it, so, again, are they really playing such a stupid and dangerous game?

Mikel Arteta has been indomitable both as a player and now as a manager.

Man City should be worried.

Come Sunday, 16 August, Arsenal are coming for them. 👀

Yeah obviously Mikel Arteta was really pressing the opponent like he is already the current Champions of the league title as well as he also made some decent transfer like his domination are also on top in market. So I am pretty optimistic about the current season because Arsenal are in full of passion and commitment towards the new season and that's why I believe that one more time they will shocked the opponent and will lift the trophy one more time.....

So all team need to be prepared for the new season because Arsenal are in full of confidence especially in league competition. Their team was already been in full grip and even they added few more great players. So their intentions is looking super competitive. Manchester City will definitely be in trouble  Grin

I agree that having a fixed team can be a big advantage in this cup competition. The shock of losing two front line players does put a lot of pressure on the youngsters. With the lack of new ammunition, it will be very hard to run this season's games.

It's worth pointing out, though, the French giants have never won the main stage. However, loading more ordnance is imperative for competitiveness.

Let's say that in a certain sense you always need to have players of important quality to ensure that you can aim for something more. But this is not always the right choice to make, because having only quality players or with individual qualities does not always perform at its best.

Above all, we need to have players who have a vision of the game and who play for the team.

Acheampong moving to a club that have just been promoted to the premier league exposes him to more pressure that can bring out the best in him as a key Frontline player, if used consistently in the club in the next season Coventry current demand will but Josh on his toll to feature in almost all matches in the premier league, instead the on and off pitch time he got in Chelsea currently. But another thing to worry about is if coach Frank Lampard can guarantee Acheampong regular playing time while on the contract until he return back to Chelsea.

Don't mind Arsenal fans, the behave more often in this manner, all I wanted to see is how Arsenal could stand the same resistance over every of their match this new season and how they will go as far as they went last season, what they don't know is that all eyes is on them, because they are already known for inconsistency, this is not that you to discuss about Arteta, but more of Arsenal under Frontline of discussion over the new season.  Grin

I wonder if he is talking about a different Mikel arteta, because it's a ridiculous statement.
All this arsenal fans, they will never seize to amaze me with some ridiculous proclamation, just because they won the title last year. In my neighborhood, an arsenal fan was even comparing saka with Lionel Messi, so if they can do that, do not be surprised in whatever comes out of their mouth.

Someone that won only three trophy(one premier league title, one fa cup and one capital one cup) in 8years is seen as a great manager by arsenal fans, but if it's a rival manager, they would have poured condemnation, and be telling us how incompetent the manager is, so it's not a surprise when statement like that is coming from an arsenal fan.

I also have my doubts about whether Arsenal will win any title next season, but it is true that he is the best manager in the Premier League right now. Being the best manager does not mean that he is going to win or that he is now irresistible. It is important to remember that there are managers in this league like Xabi Alonso who really have the ability to surprise everyone. The new managers of Manchester City and Liverpool can also surprise us, so don't call Mikel Arteta an irresistible manager just yet

Let’s be honest, Arteta is not Guardiola. The latter had already won multiple titles in Spain and the CL before joining City. His Barca team is one of the greatest club teams in history. You can’t say the same about Arteta’s set piece reliant Arsenal. Arsenal will start the season as favourites though, deservedly so.

Pep Guardiola is gone now everyone is now seeing Arteta as the next big manager that would be unstoppable, well i know it’s because of how Arteta had near misses and finally won the title so since those coaches who hindered the opportunity to win it back then are out of the the league, people would now see Mikel Arteta as a big shot.

On the other hands, it is the Premier League so we shouldn't just expect things to happen the way we feel, we haven't seen how coaches in other big teams would perform this season so we shouldn't conclude that Arsenal would over power others, well it's true that their confidence would be very high after winning the trophy in the previous season.
Mikel Arteta's achievements are not yet great and he has not won the Premier League title season after season, he has not even won the Champions League yet. So there is no reason to see him as an irresistible manager yet.

So, what you are saying now is that for a coach to be great, he has to win the league back to back and also win the Champions League. If that is your criteria, then it is okay. But for me, considering how Arteta has performed and improved the Arsenal team, I would say he is a great manager. For over three years, Arteta has not performed less than his previous season. Arsenal finished the season in second place three times in a row, and finally won the Premier League title last season. In the Champions League, Arsenal reached the semi-finals in the previous two seasons, and last season they were able to go all the way to the final. That shows great improvement And again, if you see Arteta as the best manager in the Premier League, then that means Arsenal should be first  favourites to win the Premier League this season. I know it is not a guarantee, but since the season has not yet started, we would naturally expect the team with the best manager to be among the strongest contenders to win the league. All I have to say now is that Arsenal have a very good chance of winning the Premier League again been the defending champion.

All the other favorites have new coaches and the teams still need to adjust to their new tactics. Without Pep, the league will likely become a bit more competitive as well.

I think Arsenal shouldn't miss this opportunity this year. Because Manchester City is their strongest rival, and they've lost their manager Guardiola, who was their biggest advantage in the championship race for years. Now, Arsenal is starting a more prepared season. Compared to other teams, the players have more chemistry together. Considering their quality play last year, Arsenal's chances of reaching the top this year are quite high. I can say that we might see a three teams championship race with Liverpool and Manchester City. Manchester United will be the surprise of the year.

I don't understand the purpose of this your post. The person you quoted highlighted that Manchester City should be prepared for Arsenal and you are addressing Champions League when the match that is going to be played tomorrow should be community shield which I'm not even sure if Arsenal is going to turn up. The friendly matches that Arsenal has played are not impressive, they won one single match, Manchester City looks better and ready than them.

The matches played by Manchester City are not teams that are small, they are tough one but not from Premier League but I can also bet that the same team will beat Arsenal f they are to meet in the friendly matches. You know what I'm afraid for Arsenal, they shouldn't lose this game, if they do then they have gave Manchester City that confidence of winning any leagues they are going to play this season.

Relax 😂
Geez, Arsenal fans have to be one of the most delusional people ever if not the most; the title win seems to still be gassing you all up i reckon

Only four teams have ever been able to go back to back in the Premier League era, and Arsenal haven’t done consecutive league titles since the 1930s but yeah all of a sudden this is gonna be the year it happens? GTFOH! 😂

All the other favorites have new coaches and the teams still need to adjust to their new tactics. Without Pep, the league will likely become a bit more competitive as well.

lol this is just pure copium

Liverpool literally won the league title under Slot in the season before the one Arsenal won, Maresca still has Halaand and i strongly believe that there are still plenty other teams who are very capable of making Arsenal sweat this season.

You think because Pep left Manchester City, the premier league will now become Arsenal’s personal playground?, y’all will learn the hard way 😂

Manchester city signed Savinho for €25m back in 2024, plus add-ons making it €40m, and Savinho contract with city is until 2029, with all this, don't you think he's worth €85m. Your problem should be how Tottenham easily agreed €85m, despite not winning any trophy or gaining much income from last season. Tonali was signed for €100m, Fernades for €85m as well, and after spending such amount, they still have enough to sign another player for €85m without negotiations, I am just suprised.

This transfer window is one of the craziest I have witnessed I would say. Players that are not worth a certain amount are bought without restraint, or is there something hidden from us, or are these clubs too rich? I just don't know what to say. Diomande is an example, €100m for a 19yrs old, if others can be sold for such amount, then why not Savinho?. Atleast selling Savinho + Rejienders will bring much income for City to replace the outgoing Rodri.

Until just now, I thought the most valuable transfer this season was Diomande to Real Madrid with 125 million dollar. But then there is also Elliot Anderson with 135 million dollar and Morgan Rogers with 138 million. Morgan Rogers has a long story with his 24 years. Over the past 10 years, he already made his 11th club move. Manchester City loaned him out to a different club almost every year… then sold him, and now they probably kicking themselves. The first game against Manchester City will maybe be the most valuable one of Rogers career.

It looks like Balde will see less playing time now that Barcelona has signed Cancelo to a permanent contract. Last season, Balde already faced this situation because Hansi Flick often played Cancelo over Balde, and Cancelo performed well. So, I think this season, Flick will most likely make Cancelo a starter at left back.
Both of them have almost same playing style, they go deeper into the attacking region but one has more clearing than the other. What Balde misses is making those crosses happen, he has speed , stamina and strength  but when it comes to converting his effort into big chances ( not becessarily creating assist ) or directly attempting  to score goals, he becomes totally  confused and end up wasting those good effort and possible  chances .

Cancelo on the other hand is good in all that aspect,  though more experienced.

It could have been much better if he just focus on maintaining his position like cubarsi since he's not good at creating chance but No he wants to run a cross the field everytime
