The solid players and structure that Pep built are falling so fast, or should I say are being changed so fast? It's going to be an entirely new Manchester City team we're going to see, one where there's a mixture of new and old players, players who have played under the philosophy of the old coach for many years and players who have just been introduced to the team by the new coach. I don't see a possibility where a team like this that is very unstable with players leaving and other players unsatisfied progresses, and so my prediction for Manchester City this season is that they're going to struggle a lot and find it hard to even maintain a top four position on the Premier League table.
I'm not surprised because once you're not there to take charge things will easily fall apart and change and when a person replaces, a new system is adopted. We can't expect another person to build the same thing with what Pep built, they are different people with different philosophy, approach and system. For now I don't expect a perfect result from Manchester City, at least not yet but I can't agree that they'd struggle for the whole of the season. When there is a new system the players find it difficult to adapt immediately and also the new coach needs time to iron things out. This might take up to a season or even less or forever but I personally believe Enzo Maresca and I am certain they will improve within the season even though they are not able to challenge for the title yet.

De Zerbi, what are you cooking Paying £75m for someone who rarely scored, can't shoot and often lost the ball when he's dribble is absolutely amazing. Spurs is not only get scammed, but this is also showing how they still wanna compete for the relegation zone. Apart from that the next deal of Marmoush will also be sealed around £50m. So City is still sitting at the pretty positive ROI. Honestly, those transfers make Zerby sound very foolish coach.

Savinho is a good talent but as far as I know he hasn't done anything to be at that amount, I completely agree with you, the biggest transfer scam. Is like Spurs are so desperate to get some of the best players on their side and they can do anything even if is to spend the highest but I wonder if they are going for UCL games, conference league or the Europa League. For me I still don't trust them to even improve because they are always like that, their energy in playing and showing up is on View ones.

Well, according to what I've seen and heard from many experts on the El Chiringuito program, they say Rodri will start and that Pedri will probably be left out. I don't know if it's true; Flick might decide otherwise.
I know that having a solid midfield is fundamental to winning matches and becoming champions. Barcelona has a very good team; we just have to wait and see how they start this league season to see their potential. In my personal opinion, I expect a lot from Real Madrid; they have all the necessary players to win any competition.
Also, I'd really like to see that Clásico, which is always so exciting. This time, I don't think Real Madrid will let themselves get thrashed. They have very high-level players, and I think it will be a new spectacle of great football.

Well you should know that Rodri coming in will definitely cause a problem in that midfield especially since they are all playing on same positions. It's always the decision of the coach at the end, he chooses who he think will give his team the results he wants even though sometimes it can be a tough decision. It's not the first time in football, we saw how Guardiola left out Yaya Toure despite being the best player at the time, no one could believe that. If the decision will favor the team then there shouldn't be any problems. The Clasico is supposed to get more exciting with all the preparations done. Barcelona needs to make things right if they still want to keep dominating. It'd be difficult though. I expect much from Madrid with the introduction of Mourinho and the signings made.

In fact, the price is 70 million (60 immediately and 10 in easily achievable options) + 5 million (more difficult to achieve options), i.e. 75 million. But the point is not the transfer price, but that Barcelona will pay him 30 million a year for 4 years (extremely generous for an injured player aged 30). You're probably completely unaware of Barcelona's financial problems and the league's restrictions if you're talking about Alvarez? I would be delighted to see Barcelona burn another 150 million on his transfer and then try to register newcomers but unfortunately Atletico are tough in their position. LoL. I laughed saying pay him for 4 seasons, this is what kind of joke, I know Barcelona have a lot of cash so there is no need to worry, who is worried not to get injured again he can sleep for a long time later. Come on, Atletico, don't want to be on a cheap price tag, let Barcelona make a fantastic offer again in the end this team will give up and Atletico can win big money if they continue to survive at high prices. But on a norm that price is quite ridiculous, it doesn't matter if Barcelona have the money to pay, there are somethings that are to be looked into, Rodri is a good player no doubt but let's look at his age and how often he gets injured, I really think that deal will have a regret in the future, like I'm seeing the case of Real Madrid and Eden Hazard here, Hazard was a good player till he moved to Real Madrid and everything went the other way round, I only hope he plays to his expectations on this deal, because the price and everything involved is quite alarming, it's not helping the transfer market. If I had to make a comparison with a Real Madrid player, I would choose Modric instead of Hazard. Both Rodri and Modric are kind of slow players, both had some injuries, but due to the way they play I think age is a secondary factor. At the end Modric constantly played for Real Madrid until he was 37 years old, after that he was more on the bench. A player like Rodri could easily player other 6 years at very high level.

Yes, your comparison is spot on. But I’ve got a slightly critical question! Why spend 70 million euros on a player who’s now 30 years old? I realise he’d take the team to the next level, but he’s simply not worth that kind of money. What’s more, the player’s salary is a real burden. Have neither Barcelona nor Real Madrid ever faced this problem?

I think team rosters can change, it's not a big deal. You're talking about two players, one young and one experienced. Both have their own place, both are valuable in their own way. The squad is built according to what the coach decides, and players are changed if the team isn't successful. It's not difficult. Rodri was injured a few months ago and underwent minor surgery. Even that is quite significant for a 30-year-old player, in my opinion

Tottenham reach verbal agreement with Manchester City to sign Savinho, here we go! Club to club verbal agreement in place tonight with Sávio set to travel for medical at #THFC. Fee will be over £75m, details to follow. https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/2090572150482620728/photo/1How did Manchester City convince Tottenham to sign Savinho for £75m? This is the biggest transfer scam I have seen. I don’t think this is a transfer scam, Savinho is worth that amount. He’s a player that has been making appearances for Manchester City. It didn’t work out well for him at Manchester City doesn’t mean that he is not a good player. Given how the transfer market has been so inflated recently £75m for a player the quality of Savinho is a bargain. If Savinho can work on his finishing inside the opposition box he will be a very good player. He has problems with his goal scoring ability. If De Zerbi can make him start being more clinical with his finishes, he will be one of the hottest players in the league this season.

One thing I know about transfer windows these days is that the value is more on age than output. When a player is very young, he just need to be on average and he will be worth Over 50million. We have seen it countless times in this window. Just look at players like Diomande, barcola, or even Rogers. Can you say these young players are worth that fee. Savinho is 22, he still have years to improve. He was brilliant at Girona, let just hope De Zerbi can get him back to the way he use to play at Girona. He needs playing time and Tottenham is going to give him that. Spurs also want the deal of Marmoush done as soon as possible. De Zerbi is really Tottenham to get good players, I feel they will be very challenging this season.

The 22-year-old Brazilian player hasn't been able to prove himself despite getting enough playing time with Manchester City. Perhaps Tottenham should have tried to loan him out for a year. Because I think the money paid for him is too high. They could have made much better transfers for 75 million. I just can't understand why Premier League teams spend so much money. Teams anywhere in the world could have completed this transfer for 30-40 million. But when it comes to a Premier League team, that limit suddenly increases.

I’ve heard rumors about Osimhen in this transfer window, he’s been linked to two Premier League teams, Arsenal and Tottenham, who seem to be competing to sign this Galatasaray striker.
I remember Osimhen once saying that his dream was to play in the Premier League. and if Arsenal or Tottenham manages to sign Osimhen from Galatasaray, that would also fulfill the player’s dream of playing in the Premier League.
however reports suggest that Galatasaray has set a price tag of around 70–75 million euros for any club interested in signing Osimhen. To be honest, I think this price is very realistic. I even thought Osimhen was worth more than that. What do you guys think about this news?
All these are just rumours, the Galatasaray management board made it clear that Osimhen is not for sell, and even if they changed their mind, I don't think he will be tagged at €75m, he worth more than that. If Diomande can be bought for €100m, and Rogers for €117m, then why will such quality player like Osimehn be less? Since the transfer market has gone crazy, Osimehn should worth not less than €200m. Aside from the price tag, What the hell is Osimehn going to do in Tottenham or Arsenal, I would prefer him going to Barca if the price tag is really the same. In Barca, he would have much more assistance from his team mates, unlike his team mates at Galatasaray. If Osimehn should move to Barca, he will be a great signing, and he will also remind us of Samuel Eto, because they have similar playing style. For now I think these are all rumours, but let's see what really happens.

Oh no. Fabrizio Romano reports that Liverpool is once again parting ways with Curtis Jones, with a deal nearing completion pending a medical exam and a transfer fee of €35 million. https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/2090054092735271325What can we count on for the midfield if one of the current players—Szoboszlai, Gravenberch, or Mac Alister—gets injured during the 2026–27 season? I don’t expect Liverpool’s management to have any ill intentions, because we really want to end this season on a high note. €35 million is a very low price for a talented player like Jones. I also share your concerns about Liverpool’s performance this season. It seems that Liverpool’s management is in need of funds, which is why I see their transfer policy this time as focused more on selling players than on signing new ones. Given the current state of the squad, it seems Liverpool’s goal this season isn’t to win the title. That’s because the squad is very limited, and it will be extremely difficult to maintain consistent performance throughout the season without rotating players. Not to mention, if any of Szoboszlai, Gravenberch, or Mac Alister were to get injured, we can only imagine how poorly Liverpool would perform, since there are no quality replacements available.

Last year, Liverpool started the season as the reigning champions. They easily won the Premier League that year. They had signed promising and high-quality players like Ekitike and Wirtz. Everyone considered Liverpool the favorites because they had kept their championship-winning squad and added some good players. However, things didn't go as planned for them at the end of the season. They faced a similar situation this year due to spending a lot of money, potentially hitting budget caps. I think that's why they had to create funds for players. Because last year they made very expensive transfers and got almost no return on investment.

Tottenham reach verbal agreement with Manchester City to sign Savinho, here we go! Club to club verbal agreement in place tonight with Sávio set to travel for medical at #THFC. Fee will be over £75m, details to follow. How did Manchester City convince Tottenham to sign Savinho for £75m? This is the biggest transfer scam I have seen. Tottehanm is also planning a deal for Omar Marmoush. De Zerbi, what are you cooking For Manchester City to have signed him it simply means he was actually good at his previous club, Pep is not a scout but he sure has eyes for talents and potential talents as the case may be. I strongly believe he actually got it but as they say, sometimes shits happen, I guess that's what happened to him at Manchester City. Even the Marmoush that you just reported that's on Tottenham's radar, he hasn't played up the standards at Manchester City but before his arrival, he was also very good at his previous club. I think if Tottenham gets him as well, both of them will have more regular game time and give the team what's been expected of them.

Paying £75m for someone who rarely scored, can't shoot and often lost the ball when he's dribble is absolutely amazing.
City bought Anderson and Bouhaddi - that's already more than 200 million in total, plus they are preparing the transfer of Fernandes from Chelsea, which will also be a new record - the transfer amount will be 150-160 million lol. City have sales, Savinho, Rodri, but the fact remains that this club is trying to flood everything with money and buy the title once again. It's quite funny that neither UEFA nor the League with their FFP rules were able to change literally anything. Even for old violations that were identified and documented, City has not been punished in any way.

We can not still say that Manchester city had a good overall because there had been instances when arsenal did not do so well that in their normal way they would have taken advantage of those instances but unfortunately, when it is not your season, even the best of effort sometimes ends in futility.
The difference between the Manchester city of last season and the Manchester city of this season is just in the absent of pep which will have a great effect in the way they react to situation and if maresca doesn't change from being a cool headed dude to acting up strongly as pep does, it will still cost Manchester city the league and looking at other teams, none of them has what it takes to challenge arsenal in the title race.
Mmmmm Manchester City must improve for me, Maresca must make his players understand how he wants to play. It's normal that they aren't informed yet, he's a new coach and he'll make himself understood. Manchester City are a strong team and will give everyone a hard time, obviously Arsenal are also strong and will try to reconfirm themselves.

De Zerbi, what are you cooking Tottenham continue to break the transfer structure first Mateus Fernandez and now Savinho, what ate they trying to build is a good question. Maybe this is one of the major way they can get the players they wan without suffering from competitors like last season. Come to think of it most of the players moving to Spurs are being gotten with a level of big money. I'm really curious to see how well they can perform this season, will they be among league contenders after all of these signings?
