Atletico is such a joke club, they are willing to sell Alvarez to Arsenal even for a lesser price of what Barcelona and Realmadrid offered just because they are in same Laliga ? Doesn't make any sense .
Now that Alvarez refused it , I wonder what thy will do with him , keep him or just bench him for th entire season, I don't really understand this club.
Barcelona nor Realmadrid is not even a direct rival like that , didn't Griezman left for Atletico. All of a sudden they are worried about just a single player which if they keep, won't still perform what they want since he already want to leave.

A player can't perform at his best when he's unhappy. It would be unfair to expect that from him. If he wants to leave the team, the club should let him go. No player should be forced to stay in the team if they don't want him. Some fans are already posting about it, expressing their disapproval. He also looked very upset during a photoshoot. I think Atletico should have sold him to Barcelona for a high transfer fee.

Atletico De Madrid are willing to allow Julian Alvarez go to another team which is not Real Madrid and Barcelona and the player in question have stand his ground as he only want to play for Barcelona. Well I don't know or have a clue about what Deco have told him but I do think If the Argentine player want to play for Barcelona, Atletico De Madrid shouldn't be a barrier or hurdle to stop him from fulfilling his dreams. Holding and blocking every links will not help the club because Julian Alvarez might as well just decide to sit on the bench while ATM plays every weekend. I'm just thinking if there's any slight chance where ATM will be able or willing to negotiate with Barcelona for them to come to conclusions about selling Julian Alvarez. Barcelona are capable of signing him just that his release clause just gigantic. Who will go ahead and sign a player whose release clause is €500million? Please make it make sense.

I know why atletico are being careful about selling alvarez to Barcelona or Real Madrid, because these two clubs are their direct rivals and giving one of them a player like Alvarez can come back and hurt them. However, if Alvarez wants to leave atletico keeping him just to bench him would not make sense and they should just look for solution that works for everyone. If arsenal are ready to pay a good price to sign him and he is happy to join them that could be the easiest option for atletico.

It makes sense! Barcelona and Real Madrid are strong clubs with one of them likely to win the La Liga by the end of the season. So selling a nuclear weapon to one of these clubs who's done a marvellous work during this transfer window will be chaotic so it is best if they try to see it stall or never sell them. He has a contract with Atletico Madrid and as much as they're refusing negotiating with either Barcelona or Real Madrid, he will most definitely remain as the guy for Atletico Madrid. He may decide not to play but that will see him drop form and which could affect him and the clubs performance. I have zero ideas what happens but he will for for a move. Glad to also read there's a here we go for Baleba to Manchester United.

You can’t blame them, they do their business with emotions, they don’t want the player to player for their direct rivals, they want him out of the Laliga so they wanted selling him to Arsenal, but it seems like the player don’t want go back to the premier league, he will either stay for additional season or another league, and the management of Atletico Madrid don’t want to sell their best player to any rival team, but if the player insist and the team have the money to pay, they will rather let him go stay with them without any positive impact due to lack of interest in the team. I can see that Barcelona is not more taking about him anymore, they might have given up due to the stress from Atletico Madrid despite the player showing interest with Barcelona.

Doesn't make any sense . It completely makes sense... come on They made the same mistakes in the past, and they probably do not want to have a repeat of that. It's like you expecting Manchester City to sell Halaand to Arsenal, who are one of their closest league rivals. or what Arsenal did several years back with Van Persie to Manchester United. Arsenal regretted making that decision for years.

I don’t think this is a transfer scam, Savinho is worth that amount. He’s a player that has been making appearances for Manchester City. It didn’t work out well for him at Manchester City doesn’t mean that he is not a good player. Given how the transfer market has been so inflated recently £75m for a player the quality of Savinho is a bargain. If Savinho can work on his finishing inside the opposition box he will be a very good player. He has problems with his goal scoring ability. If De Zerbi can make him start being more clinical with his finishes, he will be one of the hottest players in the league this season. That amount is too much for a player who sat on the bench all throughout last season and for a player who scored only 2 goals last season. Savinho is worth £75m. All I think is Manchester City is good at disposing of the players they don't want to use anymore. I understand the inflated cost of signing players this season, but I think a fee of £45m is what Savinho is worth. No doubt Savinho is a good player. The worst that could happen is for De Zerbi to use Savinho as a second option. He should be starting at that left wing.

It might not make sense to you because you're not in their position. Imagine selling your most lethal weapon to your local enemies, they'll use it against you and you'll regret ever doing it. If Julian Alvarez joins Arsenal, Atletico Madrid will not have less reasons to regret his departure but allowing him join either of Barcelona or Real Madrid will greatly affect the club. That said, if Alvarez joins Arsenal, I think they'll dominate the English Premier League.

It makes absolutely no sense to say Barca and Madrid are not rivals in a direct way, for years they have been 2 strong team that Atleti has been tirelessly fighting to take the mantle of trophy from, I see no reason in handling Alvarez to any of them, it will surely come back to bite them in the ass. It will be better for them to sell him to a different league to avoid the story that touches the heart. I don't kow why he turned down Arsenal but there is no benefit in leaving such a talent on the bench because he is a star player and he earns good amount of wages. So they should find a way to come to comprise in order to have a win-win situation.

Straight up question, do you think Manchester City will be willing to sell off Halaand to Manchester United or Chelsea at the moment even though their major rival now is Arsenal who are actually going to compete with them? I don’t like the approach of how Atletico De Madrid has treated this Alvarez transfer nor do I like how Alvarez who is in contract with Atletico can publicly shows admiration to a direct club like Barcelona, it’s actually a huge disrespect to Atletico Madrid, but I expect Atletico to treat it as no player isn’t bigger than the club and get him sold. I remember the Harry Kane move where Levy, the Tottenham director blocked all the possibility of Kane going to Manchester city or Manchester United and actually sold him to Bayern Munich for lesser amount that Manchester clubs offered and we all can see that you don’t strengthen a direct rival and this was why Ronaldo return to premier league to join Manchester City was blocked by Manchester United

I support the decision Atletico Madrid not selling their hitman to either Barcelona or Real Madrid cause Alvarez will turn back to punish them if they had allowed him to move to their neighbors and it's going to affect them making it hard for them to be a strong contender for the league title this season since Barcelona and Real Madrid has good number of star players that would be active to fight for the league for them. Atletico Madrid should sell Alvarez to Arsenal of it's still possible by so doing they will have little or nothing to worry unless then they meet in the champions League he could be the weapon fashion against them if he ends or helping Arsenal to defeat them.

To be honest that's the best strategy you don't let your opponent(s) have what they can use to cause you harm. It's not like they are doing something terrible, Tottenham did it for Harry Kane, this is a good marketing strategy. It's a proof that ATM are fighting for trophy(s) since they were able to opt for one with a lesser pay.

If I had to make a comparison with a Real Madrid player, I would choose Modric instead of Hazard. Both Rodri and Modric are kind of slow players, both had some injuries, but due to the way they play I think age is a secondary factor. At the end Modric constantly played for Real Madrid until he was 37 years old, after that he was more on the bench. A player like Rodri could easily player other 6 years at very high level.
Yes, your comparison is spot on. But I’ve got a slightly critical question! Why spend 70 million euros on a player who’s now 30 years old? I realise he’d take the team to the next level, but he’s simply not worth that kind of money. What’s more, the player’s salary is a real burden. Have neither Barcelona nor Real Madrid ever faced this problem? Well, they bought the best defensive midfielder in the world, which is a the top of his career. Considering his contract was about to expire I agree the price is a little steep, maybe they could have paid him 60 millions instead of 70, but 10 millions are not a huge difference at the end of the day. Juventus paid over 100 millions for a 33-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo, and despite his age his performances were phenomenal.

The Clasico is supposed to get more exciting with all the preparations done. Barcelona needs to make things right if they still want to keep dominating. It'd be difficult though. I expect much from Madrid with the introduction of Mourinho and the signings made.
That's definitely true, that Clásico is going to be very exciting. I still think Rodri shouldn't have put up so many obstacles regarding money to come to Madrid. I partly agree with what Mou said: if Madrid calls you, you just have to say, "When do I start?" Rodri didn't show that. Being a Madrid player isn't just about making a lot of money; it's about loving the club joining the best club in the world with the most Champions League titles. Mou will do a good job. I want to see what he's going to offer us. I really don't want to miss a single match. I'll also be following Barcelona because they're very well-prepared, although to be honest, when the season starts, I watch every league I can. Football is a huge passion of mine.

They should have agreed for him to move to Barcelona. Keeping him in the club won’t make any sense, and he won’t perform the way he did last season since he prefers to leave Atlético Madrid for another club. But they don’t want to sell him, and the player doesn’t want to continue. No player is bigger than the club. And since he prefers to leave the club, the best solution is that they should let him go. That will be better than keeping him for another season. Álvarez is a key player, and both Barcelona and Real Madrid see vision in the player. He will help a lot, but Atlético Madrid don’t want to sell him to them. The league has started, and he is not in the first eleven when they played their first season match in the league.

At some point, we should also understand that same way players feel that they have options as to where they went to stay, clubs equally have Thier options as to where they want to go. It should never be only on what one of the party wants that the other doesn't want but should be based on mutual understanding. He playing in a Laliga team being a top class player will look like they are selling someone that's capable of being a threat to themselves to Thier enemy team and for a team that equally wants to win the league, you can't understand why they prefer arsenal as a better option. The implication of him staying in the team and either not getting quality playing team or actually playing and not giving his best will affect is form as a player and believe it or not, it has a way of affecting his overall standards as a player.

I agree that this situation has to be looked at from both sides...players can have a preference about where they wants to continue their career, but the club also has every right to consider what works best for them especially if the move could strengthen a direct competitor and at the same time, keeping a player in an uncomfortable situation just because the club doesn't want them joining a certain side doesn't really solve, If a player is not getting a regular minutes or not fully committed, that can eventually affect the self confidence and performances. I think the better things to do is finding an agreement that respects the player's career while also making sense for the club. Both sides have something to protect, so neither side should expect to have everything their way.

For some players, the money paid is the most sensible expenditure for the team. We're talking about one such situation here. Rodri's performance could earn Barcelona even more money. If he avoids injury problems, I think this transfer could be considered the transfer of the year for Barcelona. We're talking about a player who strengthens the midfield, and moreover, this player is a European Player of the Year winner. While 70 million might seem like a lot, it's not excessively high for a player like that.

But I was looking more at the financial side of things. They’ve spent 70 million today, but I don’t think they’ll be able to sell him for that sort of money in the future; his value will inevitably go down as he gets older, and whilst his performance might decline, it could also improve (that’s the big unknown). Obviously, with him in the team, the overall standard of the side rises quite significantly.
