Enzo Maresca took a new format so that Marmoush was not included in the main squad plans and made him have to go to Tottenham. It's unfortunate but there's no other way because playing time at Man City wasn't effective for him. Marmoush is a quality player, but when his playing time is not so supportive he is often on the bench. His role at Tottenham could be very helpful, as long as he is given more opportunities on the pitch.

He’s been a big flop at Man City as has Savinho. I don’t know how they sell failed players for profit, something doesn’t add up. How did they get more for Reijnders than they paid for him. A club that has 116 charges for financial irregularities can not be trusted. Who knows what they are up to.
I think Omar Marmoush was also bit frustrated at Manchester City and that's why he left the team because form the past season I was noticed own that Pep Guardiola was only emphasizing on Holland to stay at number 9 position despite on left they have Douko. So because of this Omar Marmoush couldn't spend much minutes on the field and I think not playing on regular base just got distracted his capacity.

So the reason behind his flop was also his less minutes. If Manchester City give them a right spot with a full time Play then maybe he could utilize his potential. However it's good for Tottenham Hotspur and even for Omar Marmoush too because in Tottenham Hotspur he will play on X11 sheet with full time.

Marmoush is definitely a good player with a lot of quality,  but I think he has not had enough playing time at Manchester City as you have just said. He is really going to be a good addition to Tottenham and he should be able to improve their attack. I also think that Enzo Maresca is making a big mistake, by selling a lot of player he met at the team. I think he should have kept Marmoush, because I believe he will need him and he is definitely a player with quality,  but who am I, I guess he knows what he is doing and the kind of players he wants in his team.

If care is not taken Tottenham might turned out to be the Liverpool of last season, after all the money spent in the transfer market by Arnel Slot and the Liverpool management, they still managed to qualify the UEFA Champions League competition with luck, if not for the extra slot that was given to the English premier League teams last season, Liverpool wouldn't have made it to the UEFA Champions League competition, so Tottenham should be very careful, they has already spent much and they are still willing to spend more.

🚨🔵⚪️ Al Hilal are getting closer to Gabriel Martinelli deal done after club to club talks with Arsenal at final stages.

Fee around £50/55m discussed and #AFC prepared to accept and sell Martinelli.

Talks on personal terms ongoing, Gabriel to make final decision soon. 🇧🇷

Martinelli leaving doesn't sit well for me even if he's the kind of player that doesn't show up when it matters, missed chances and not knowing when to shot or release the ball, it happens but the Gunners need this player at least for the sake of injury or suspension, with Trossard gone I feel it will be nice if Arteta hold on to the Brazilian for this season. For me it would be better to drop Martinelli and sell Madueke.
I don't understand at the moment how good a move to a club like the Saudi League is for this young player, where he has a great future ahead of him. He is a great player and has good finishing skills so if he stayed at Arsenal it would have been a good decision for him but here it might be different like Arsenal might give him a condition that Arsenal will not play him in the starting XI and make him sit on the bench for most of the season, maybe thinking that he wants to play regularly for a club in the Saudi League instead of sitting on the bench. But at this point in time I think it would be a good decision not to go to the Saudi League but if he gets an offer or shows interest from another good club in Europe then it might be a good decision for him to go there.

With the quality of player he is, he can certainly expect offers from European clubs, moving to the Saudi league is not a good decision for him. He still has a long career ahead of him and he is a great player, he certainly has some weaknesses and room for improvement. But he still has the ability to compete in Europe. If Arsenal decide to sell him or Martinelli decides to leave Arsenal, then of course some European clubs will show interest in him. But I don't think that is happening, the decision to go to Saudi could be Martinelli's. Whichever side the decision is, it could damage his career.

IIRC, a few days ago Fabrizio mentioned that one of Arsenal's representatives talked with Hidalgo [Julián's agent] when he was in London earlier in the week and the offer they were hoping to get was way higher than what Arsenal was willing to give and on top of that, Julián didn't appear to be that interested in returning to England.
- FWIW, I think he'll stay for another year at Atlético Madrid, then he's going to force a move.
I think you're right about that one. I searched through Fabrizio page and couldn't find a relevant "reject" term yet but I do know he's definitely not going to be interested in going back to Enland as mentioned.. Another reliable source claimed that the president still insist on not selling him to either Arsenal or Barcelona or any other Spanish club. I am not sure which one to believe but I trust Fabrizio more.

If he stays another year , there's high chance he complete his entire contract at Atletico  unless the fans doesn't stop frustrating him (ever since he declared he's no longer interested in staying, the fans have been going wild on him). I hope Atletico doesn't mess up his career though Tongue
Julian Alvarez signed a 6 years contract with Atletico Madrid in 2024 which means that his contract will terminate in 2030. Atletico Madrid have the right to reject any deal from other clubs inasmuch as the Argentine still has a running contract. However, since Julian Alvarez is already showing signs that he wants to leave, the only thing that Atletico Madrid should do is to allow him to leave otherwise he might not perform as he used to and it will result in a conflict between him and the club so in order not to find themselves in such situation, they should let go of him. If Atletico Madrid refuses to accept a transfer deal this summer transfer window, then they will be forced to sell him in January transfer window because he will not play to impress the team anymore. He didn't start Atletico Madrid match against Malaga but even though the coach said it was as a result of his fitness, it could also be that he is waiting for a move out of Atletico Madrid.

I don’t get why some people are acting as if Atletico Madrid are doing Álvarez bad.

I’m not even an Atletico Madrid fan but it’s very obvious that he’s actually the villain in this situation.

How can you sign to play for a club for six years and then play only two years and think you can just run away to another club just like that?. And it’s not even just any club, but a rival club in the same league, c’mon now let’s be realistic here, nobody can accept something like that.

Atlético Madrid took a very big leap by signing him in the first place; he was a bench player but that didn’t stop  them from paying €95m for him and he himself put pen on paper to sign the agreement for a six year contract.
They literally built their whole project around him and turned him into one of the best paid player in Atletico but now he suddenly has memory loss and can’t remember all these right?

Atletico Madrid took a very big gamble with him, it’s just shameful that he is paying them back now by being ungrateful and i just hope their decisions to not let him go won’t affect the team as a whole.

Sometimes it's not always as we think, when a player has a limited game time, they will not perform to their maximum capacity, more game time brings out the best in them and also the trust of the coach. These 2 players you mentioned to be frank were not having their quality time in minutes played, Pep knew about their potential before he signed them but I guess the personal problems he was passing through made him not to bring out the best in them, that's what I feel.

@FabrizioRomano
🚨 Liverpool will only sell Cody Gakpo if they can get two wingers in next 8 days; priority remains Bradley Barcola.

Tottenham verbally agreed terms with Gakpo since July, Man City now also in active talks with his agents.

Player to decide but also based on #LFC  wingers plans.
https://x.com/fabrizioromano/status/2091934546002325657

This would be a surprise but if we can get two wingers in then I am OK with it.

While I agree with you that Gabriel Martinelli isn’t also young but has options if he decides to move to another European club. When this transfer winds opened we all know that he was actually linked to Galatasaray with Turkish champions making moves to sign him or even get him on loan but Martinelli turn them down and right now with Arsenal opting to sell him because he has just a year on his contract and they could lose him for free next summer.

I was also surprised that the Brazilian picked the Saudi league ahead of the Turkish league, I don’t think we should be questioning his decision because only him knows what he wants and this should been seeing a money chasing move because not all players do that

Arsenal might be a bit weaker but I still think that since Leandro Trossard has joined the Turkish League club from this team so it would have been better if Arsenal had kept this Brazilian forward. Anyway, we had previously heard rumors that Martinelli could join Turkish Super League club Galatasaray, But this player may not have been interested in playing in that league however now it seems he is interested in playing for an SPL club.

As a result club to club talk is going on and maybe Al Hilal will agree to pay 50 or 55 million pounds for this player. It is correct to say that Madueke should be sold as Martinelli performed much better than this player because this player scored six goals for Arsenal in last season's UEFA Champions League.

I have noticed a problem with teams that do have problems with player, that season they most likely don't win the league. Arne slot relationship with Salah cost him his job, he was doing well without him I must not lie but he is better if he was in good shape with the player. The way Salah became center of attention for the club, it affected the rest of the players because they are all built around him and they are connected to play well, when he was not around, the team was not don't well.

Tottenham was almost went relegated last season, what they are playing now seems to be like cat bounce, they will soon go back to their usual form. You know what's interesting about some teams that are not doing well when the season start, they try to become better in the first month as the season resume and they become worse half way to the season. It's always like that and I will wait for Tottenham to do the same, I'm too impressed in their opening match.

Seems like the Saudi league will be competitive again, because the players Al hilal is signing, I don't think Al Nassr will easily claim the title this time around.
Martinelli to Al Hilal seems like a good one, he is a very good player, and he will be very useful, I would have been against this transfer if the Saudi league was less competitive, but this season looks different. Martenelli can now have enough playtime and even more salary.

Why is Arteta selling Gabriel Martinelli when Christos Tzolis do not have a perfect backup. Though Eberechi Eze can handle the LW in the absence of Tzolis but Martinelli is a better option. Even if he Arsenal wants to sell him, shouldn't they have looked for an European club instead of the Saudi League where he will have no much visibility and it is possible that he can't come back to an English team anymore if he goes to the Saudi League. Anyways, Arsenal is already in communication with the Saudi club which means that the transfer is nearing final stages. It could be that Arsenal wants to use the money that will be gotten from the transfer of Martinelli to buy another striker.
I think Arsenal need to be a bit more cautious about Martinelli. If they don't already have equally capable alternatives for every position, letting go of a player like him will create problems in the future.
Eze can play on the left, but that doesn't mean he perfectly replicates what Martinelli does. Especially in a season with a high match schedule, they need players like this in their rotation, so Arsenal, who were champions last season and are aiming for the championship again, really need to be cautious.

If they can manage to find a better backup for Tzolis or someone who can actually compete with him, then I think it's one of those moves that could benefit both parties... Martinelli has been playing at LW for a very long time and in the past few years, his development seems to have stopped, but I remember in a few games that he played as a CF [in his first year with us (under Unai Emery)], he did exceptionally well [a fresh start and a shift in his position might help with his confidence].
- Madueke is Saka's backup and his a better team player than him, so I doubt Arteta or Berta will sell him anytime soon.

This position we see Martinelli play always is suppose to bring in more goals just as when Arsenal was with Trossard, he had it all, the pressure that comes from that wing is something many don talk about but Martinelli can only push and when it's time for the final blow he'd go offline and it becomes a problem for the club especially when they need something special so if he'd leave no problem, only thing is that Arteta would have to force someone that isn't suppose to be in that position to play just as he used Merino as a CF in some games, well that's Arsenal for you, always improvising. One thing is sure, getting a new face as a replacement for the out going Martinelli because these guys are seriously pushing to have the Brazilian so Arsenal need to work faster in search of a LW.

Ineffective finishing by Gabriel Martinelli on the left wing has now become factual hindrance to productivity of Arsenal. His haste which is not accompanied with acute execution is often fatal to scoring chances at a critical time during matches. Loss of the player necessitates the management to move fast in order to bring in new, particular winger. This will be important to ensure that Mikel Arteta does not go into the trap of patchwork in the team attack.

What are you talking about? Martinelli plays on the left side of the pitch, while Noni Madueke plays on the right side. Just because they're both wingers doesn't mean one can cover up for the other. The preferred foot can also determine which position you can and cannot function properly.

For the transfer news, it doesn't sit well with me that the club wants to release him. Although I haven't verified this information yet, Martinelli is still very young and has more potentials in him to leave for Saudi at just 25.
Selling martinelli at this stage to me is a strange decision, even considering his age and the fact that arsenal need more attacking players for the season. I also understand the argument about madueke, but just as you have said that martinelli and madueke do not exactly play the same position. So martinelli gives them that natural option on the left side and with trossard already gone, that will also leave a gap in that position.

So what i can say here is that arsenal should be careful before letting him go to Saudi, martinelli might not always make the right choice in that position of final third, but still have the ability to improve at 21 which I would rather give him another season to show us more or prove himself than to sell him and regret it later.

Arsenal fans are too emotional. Martinelli has done what he can for Arsenal. Let him leave if the club wants to contend for a trophy they have never won since their existence. Martinelli is not the attacker who will give you a lot of goals in a season.

Madueke and Martinelli are not playing in the same position. Martinelli is a left winger, and Madueke is a right winger. This is the best time to get a nice deal for Martinelli. He should leave. Arsenal fans will get used to it.

He’s been a big flop at Man City as has Savinho. I don’t know how they sell failed players for profit, something doesn’t add up. How did they get more for Reijnders than they paid for him. A club that has 116 charges for financial irregularities can not be trusted. Who knows what they are up to.

Many players that lost consistency is as a result of the limited playing time they had in there team,  consistency only improves when there is enough time to identify and possibly find better options in dangerous condition
Pep Guardiola is one coach in the Premier League that has an extremely different character from other coaches,  to an extent other coaches may consider giving chances to players but the pep Guardiola i know will never give that playing.
They are not the only players pep Guardiola has done something like that to, during the time of Ture pep was the main reasons for his weakness.  It first started at Barcelona and letter continued at Manchester city,  so its never a strange thing to all again.

@FabrizioRomano

Gakpo was by far one of Liverpool's stand out players in their first game in this season against Newcastle. He played very well that I could only imagine him not being in this Liverpool side reduces the chances of Liverpool ever catching up and trying to recover  to the very good seasons they've had because players like Wirtz and Alexander Isak that should be carrying this team now are still failing in form, looking clueless whenever they are have the ball and it is their turn to play. If Liverpool will not be able to sign another player who is a clear upgrade to what Gakpo has to offer, then they'll be making a big mistake to let him go.

I saw Gakpo put in a standout performance when Liverpool drew against Newcastle. The equalizer he scored with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area in the 55th minute established him as the most effective forward at breaking down the opposing defense. Parting ways with Gakpo without an adequate replacement would be a major loss for Liverpool. After all, Alexander Isak is still struggling to find his best form up front, while Florian Wirtz's performances have yet to justify his hefty transfer fee. Andoni Iraola must immediately improve the team's tactics to prevent them from remaining under constant pressure, rather than selling key players and bringing in others who require months to adapt.
