So should they reappoint Erik ten Hag as the club's manager to replace Michael Carrick?  I honestly don't care where he's categorised in the worst Manchester United managers list but I know I never for once enjoy his boring style of football. Amorim was just unfortunate and couldn't get the level of support Erik ten Hag got. The truth is Manchester United's managerial issues have been their most concern as s club, don't know how long it'll take to get the perfect Sir Alex Ferguson replacement.
Whoever the coach is for now will look the same for me no significant changes in any change of coach.
I still feel that what is happening now is Manchester United's focus is a mistake because it is too imposing to continue to regenerate players and coaches but they do not realize that the chaos of management, especially for the problems of the bigwigs at the club is allowed to drag on.

They have to solve that from the beginning just start by overhauling the coach again because if only those in the player and coach structure are overhauled every season but their bigwigs who have bigger problems are left then it will only be useless because the situation remains the same for Manchester United's performance.
There are now countless who criticise Carrick (whereas last season he was always proud of) but are not aware that this pattern for Manchester United is always repeated where a replacement coach in the middle of the season always makes a good contribution with legacy players that the previous era coach gave but always failed when putting together the team early on in the new season.

How can you call out Ten Hag and make excuses for Amorim? What kind of contradiction is that?
That's because I'm human and as a human, I'm free make my preferences  base on what I find more interesting. Ruben Amorim might not have lived up to our expectations after his very successful spell at Sporting, but the few times Manchester United won, they played exciting football. Under Erik ten Hag that also failed in my own books, I never for once enjoyed Manchester United games. That's why I'm making excuses for Amorim and calling out his Dutch predecessor.

From analysis Ruben Amorim is certainly the worst coach that manage manchester united, he never won any trophy for manchester united the trophy he would won for manchester united was the UEL final against Tottenham Hotspur in 2025 i think they lost that game 1-0, before he was also sacked he finished 15th place in the premier league table and this was manchester united worst finished in their era so with this i believe Ten Hag was still more better than Ruben Amorim.
If Manchester United didn't change their manager, with Ten Hag as the coach, United wouldn't have finished in 15th position. Amorim came in and made everything worse, among the managers who have coached United, Ten Hag isn't in the top three worst managers to have coached Manchester United, you can search it up and verify.

That’s the problem with the club right now, because of the standard set by sir Alex Ferguson it’s making it difficult for the new set of coaches to do something that will look meaningful in the eyes of the fans because no matter what any coach do now in the club the fans still want more. Not that managers that have been hired and sacked after while aren’t good managers but the they just don’t trust them with a long term stay, they got sacked after just maybe 2 seasons without winning trophies. I think the club should be able to give a certain manager more time to build the team, at least 5 years or so to enable them get to play together for long. Look at Arsenal today, when Arteta took over as manager they weren’t this good as they struggled to win trophies for almost 4-5 years but now they are the premier league champions and also a champions league finalists still pushing for more:

Manchester United have been like a meat grinder for managers during the last year and it's both funny and interesting that you mention Sir Alex Ferguson because, many of you maybe don't know that, it took him 7 seasons to win a Premier League. Now they don't even wait two seasons before sacking the manager. In today's football there would be no Alex Ferguson at United.

With the modern day football, clubs expect immediate effect because no big club wants inconsistent performance for several seasons without a breakthrough. You can take Arsenal for instance, that has remained without trophies for years but finally won the Premier league after many years.

Every club needs a manager with vision, its not about the amount of time given to the manager, when there is no vision and improvement with the team squad, the possible outcome is a sack. Arsenal performed consistently under Arteta even without a trophy which was why he was given the grace, and the result really ended positively.

Arteta has always pushed for the top of the league, that's why Arsenal stood behind him. In this regard, Arsenal's management did the right thing, but I miss the old days more. For example, Arsene Wenger worked at this club for more than 20 years. Similarly, even David Moyes spent 11 years at Everton. In the past, stability was a key factor. However, as time has turned us into a consumer society, such examples have become impossible. In this context, I’d like to ask you this: Arteta is a very good head coach, but how long can Arsenal tolerate him if he goes on a losing streak?

Those were different times, and one might say better times for football. Nowadays, it is all about profit, and if you have a series of bad results, you are losing money and therefore at risk of getting fired. No one has the patience to bring a project to life, like Arsenal and in some ways PSG did. Arsenal made a complete rebuild from the ground up, and PSG rebuilt their philosophy by buying and adding different styles of players to their team. It is sad to see how little respect clubs and fans have for managers nowadays.

I think Arsenal can afford to be very patient with him because Arteta has built up a lot of credit at the club. He stayed with the team for many years and remained at the helm even though he didn't win the title initially. He finally achieved Premier League success last season, and even if they don't win the championship this year, he will stay on as manager. Long-term managerial tenure is part of Arsenal’s club philosophy. They have faith in the Spanish manager, and I believe we will see him leading Arsenal for a long time to come.

immediate results do not exist and those who want them immediately do not understand that miracles cannot be worked, this is what happens when clubs are bombarded with money and false hopes, they must understand that they have to work hard and then perhaps one day the results will be seen, not everyone can afford victories right away.

Just after an embarrassment lost against Atletico Madrid. The rumor about Carrick will be sacked, then getting replaced by Huzeller is appearing now. I don't think it's gonna be a good decision because Carrack only lacks of back by their management. I read Martinez's complaint about how management is leaving Carrick with a club that has no depth.
It's forcing him to play his player who played as CB to rotate as RB. So replacing him with Huzeller won't solve the problem, and it's only adding another problem because club needs times to adapt with the new tactical plan bring by the new coach.

Nevertheless MU's management is unpredictable. They may sack him, then sign Huzeller. But i have to say keeping him for sometimes is better instead of in hurry up searching for a new coach to handle the club.
Anyone here has an opinion it's all Carrick's fault, then he needs to replaced?

The only bitter truth, like many football fans is yet to understand this you've just said, there's nothing like immediate result, no matter how good the player might be, he will still need time to adapt to the system where he's been signed in, for a player to move into any team and start performing good is not always their making, because if a player is signed into a system he doesn't understand he will definitely struggle before he can pick up, for instance Isaak, he was very good at Newcastle because he understood the system too well, but when once he was moved to Liverpool, at least we all knew how the story ended last season, because he didn't understood it, and the players there were not ready to help, so he had an awful season, but I believe he will put things in place this season because he's quite familiar with the system now.

This season, Manchester United’s performance has been the opposite of what it was midway through last season. The season is actually still long, and he still has a chance to redeem himself. In my opinion, Carrick seems to be taking a gamble with his strategy, and I don’t blame him for being overshadowed by Sir Alex.

I hope someone advises Huzeller to decline the job and focus on his growth in Brighton because he is doing extremely well for a young manager of his age. He should not be tempted by the glamour of being the coach of Manchester United because the management of Manchester United will not support him enough to see him succeed but will be quick to discard him as a failure when the bad results start coming in. Everyone knows that the problem with Manchester United is not the coaches they have had, but the management of the club that Ronaldo even complained about when he returned to the club in 2021/22 before moving to Al-Nassr.

If Manchester United had kept Erik Ten Hag, they probably would not have been in this position they are in currently because he had a good record as a coach with them, one of the best compared to the coaches that have, right from the time Sir Alex Ferguson left the club in 2013. He won them the 2023 League Cup and the 2024 FA Cup and also finished 3rd in his first season but the management of Manchester United could not just be patient with him and dismissed him too early the next season for a poor start for Ruben Amorim who they saw as a better replacement, but later became a massive fail because of the same challenges that Michael Carrick is facing now.

The frustration is slowly eating into the players, and that will affect their performance the more. I can't blame Carrick, he is working with what he has, but in this age and time in football, it is not enough.

In my opinion, Carrick seems to be taking a gamble with his strategy, and I don’t blame him for being overshadowed by Sir Alex.
You know, I remember when Carrick first arrived at Manchester United. Even he didn't make any major changes to the team, Manchester United started winning. I recall discussions at the time, people saying that Amorim had done a great job with the squad and was truly transforming Manchester United, even though he was setting unwanted records, the team was still improving under him. There was also talk that when Carrick took over, he was essentially working with Amorim’s team. Of course Manchester United did evolve gradually during Carrick's tenure, but the team's results shifted once the new season, and even the pre season got underway. So perhaps Carrick isn't quite the talented coach we expected him to be.

Sure, it's all about profit, but the new managements are so incompetent that they don't even realize all the money that they actually pay every time you fire a coach because:
- You keep paying the coach
- You keep paying the staff
- Sometimes you even paid a release clause to the other club (see Amorim)
- You bought players the coach wanted

Firing a coach nowadays can be extremely expensive, we're not talking about 1-2 million euros, we're talking about tens of millions. And as the saying goes, the fish rots from the head, so in cases like Manchester United I blame the management, not the coach.

When it comes to both of them much criticism should be given to Erik Ten Hag because he was terrible but overlooked because of trophy(ies) won, which isn't entirely the criteria for a long term coach.

Ruben Amorim flaws were open clear to all especially since it was coming from the EPL and relegation was just around the corner and that's not the point where they would have been trying to be patient.

Every club needs a manager with vision, its not about the amount of time given to the manager, when there is no vision and improvement with the team squad, the possible outcome is a sack. Arsenal performed consistently under Arteta even without a trophy which was why he was given the grace, and the result really ended positively.
I agree with you, football has evolved and even clubs have to follow the trend if they want to remain relevant,  club that want to win champions league ot league title must spend huge sum on quality players just the way Arsenal ans Arteta are doing,  same with Manchester city and psg, they have spend the highest in any transfer market  and tou can see how they perform in their leagues and champions league games.

Manchester united is behind because they have failed to do as others are doing, a glorious club has become a laughing stock because of poor management and average players,  Manchester United can change any manager but the problem is there,  the club lacks vision and ambition,  they are very greedy to spend but they want different results.

I sometimes find it strange to some United fans that a new manager always has to be like Alex Ferguson. I mean setting standards as well as burdens that ultimately can never be the same again. Why not stop that standard and let the new manager start his own way.

If Manchester United sack carrick this season, i will start believing in what the players and the fans are saying about the club, what did the team owners give Carrick that they expect a good result from him? Signing Baleba, Santos from Chelsea and Teleisman is not a good signing for the Manchester United, and now we all will start believing in what Ronaldo said in 2022 when everyone think he is the problem of the club, Ronaldo stated that since Alex Faguson left Manchester United the club did not have good management again.

After the game against Atletico Madrid Martinez also said that they should not only blame the coach and the players, they should also blame the management with the way they are managing the club, and that is the truth, everyone knows that top clubs in the Premier League are buying players to strengthen their squad but Manchester United did not do anything about their team, if Manchester United did not invest in the club they will never perform well.

If the result of the next 3 matches doesn’t change for man united I don’t think Michael Carrick will remain at the club before December. By December the league is expected to be getting more serious and this is the right time for Man united to start fixing their issues before it’s too late. Manchester United have actually bought top players in the past after Ferguson left but the issue with the club still remains, they had previously signed players for huge amounts so i wouldn’t blame them if they decide not to be spending big again on players because their previous investments doesn’t work. I think they are yet to assemble the right squad this season who will fight for the club and that’s why I think is high time they look into the academy and start building from there.
