Manchester United signed mostly Defensive Midfield players and defensive players during the transfer window. In that context the team's performance analysis shows that the new players are playing relatively well but are performing so poorly due to the weakness of the team's attack.

Perhaps the team's management wants to have more confidence in Michael Carrick for a while and give him more time to improve the team.

As you said, the fans in the stadium are blaming the players, I have also heard this from some people who said that Carrick is responsible enough and is trying to improve the team and many fans are supporting him.

Manchester United signed three midfielders in the summer of 2026. They are Carlos Baleba, Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans. Carlos Baleba remains the only defensive midfielder at Manchester United, while Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans are central midfielders. Evidently, Baleba has shown more maturity and experience than the other two.

Sometimes it is not all about signing new players who have talent. Always remember that mentality is the strongest weapon in football. Arsenal are enjoying their midfield today because the midfield has mentality monsters.

No! They'll suffer until this set of management and board of trustees in charge of the footballing aspect of the club are all but gone completely.

Louis Van Gaal made complains about them.

Jose Mourinho said something like that about the club.

Ole Gunner Solkjaer made mention of how he was not given players he wanted.

David Moyes the same thing, they went for fourth choice scouted players under him.

And what then did the greatest player of all time, Cristaino Ronaldo tell the public about Manchester United and where they'll be in the next two years or three? Lo and behold, we're far from good and if we continue with em, we'll be properly ganged raped.

The club needs to put itself first and foremost and be responsible for everything that happens in the club, these guys are absolutely disheartened and no longer believe in this club, if there isn't first and foremost a club that understands football things will never be able to improve and this is what is happening.

And I think that during Mourinho’s time at Manchester United, he actually managed to secure good transfers, but he failed to achieve success at the club because there were too many conflicts between him and the players. A lot of players were against Mourinho, and it was this internal hostility, combined with his inability to get along with the squad, that ruined everything. But in terms of transfers, things weren’t actually that bad. In all the other cases, it was clear that Manchester United were reluctant to spend big money.

I think you didn’t even start right from the top, Sir Alex Ferguson also complained about them not getting him his preferred choices with Patrice Evra confirming this in an interview that towards SAF last years he wanted prime Ronaldo and Prime Bale with both promising to come to United only for the Board not to bid for him.

Then we had Ralf Ragnick who said Manchester United needed an open heart surgery and complained bitterly of the United transfer structure which others also did complained about.

Now let’s not even go to the past but let’s analyze the current situation? Who is currently the leading the candidate for the job should Carrick get sacked, Eddie Howe of all managers available someone who couldn’t land even a mid table club role, simply because Wilcox and his team wants someone like Carrick that wouldn’t be demanding and will be just a yes person.

As long the Management continues, it will still be same old circle of sack and bad transfers

And I think that during Mourinho’s time at Manchester United, he actually managed to secure good transfers, but he failed to achieve success at the club because there were too many conflicts between him and the players. Good transfer you said? Same Mourinho that wanted Kante who was then at Leicester city and instead got Fred, is that good transfer? Who he got Van Dijke when he wanted. What we are saying is Manchester United hardly gives managers what they truly want and rather ends up with third choices for them

Plus Mourinho has been the most successful manager post Ferguson era at Manchester United

Since the Ferguson era ended and Manchester United's ownership changed, Manchester United's transfer policy seems not to align with what the coach wants. But the management demands the coach to achieve the maximum results; otherwise, they will be fired. This has happened repeatedly, and the latest victim is Carrick. The management does not have a clear understanding and just keeps changing new coaches. I think if this continues, they will not succeed in becoming a big club in the EPL again.

Another that rumor has it that Liverpool's right-back on loan from Barcelona, Ronald Araujo, could get a permanent contract. This issue was conveyed by Andoni Iraola. Liverpool is reported to have to spend €55 million to get his signature. This could be done when his loan period ends in June. Indeed, Araujo's performance is very good and he is a mainstay for Iraola, and he has a record of 4 clean sheet appearances.

You are right, during Mourinho's time at United, he had conflicts with some players, but he achieved good things for the club. He won the Europa league,  FA cup and EFL cup. I'm sure it was because of those good transfers he won those trophies. Transition to recent times, United is now suffering the opposite, the board focuses on signing average players, they failed to bring in some experienced players after qualifying for the UCL. Something should be done concerning the board management.

Most of the transfer Jose Mourinho got during his time with the club was as a result of his ability to attract top players, but in the case of Micheal Carrick, it was more difficult to attract players of certain levels because they did not see him as that type of coach that can take their game to different level or they can win something big with.

Although I wouldn't put all the blames on Micheal Carrick because the board is also not releasing funds as they should, so that was another factor that resulted to the bad performance of Manchester United this season.

The mentality would remain a major problem at Manchester united until the management fixes that. The fans are mostly in support of Carrick and put more blame on the players than the coach, and that's something that has not happened before.

There are a few others positions that needs replacement, maybe a full squad replacement is the cure that Manchester United needs. Also, a change in the management would being great impact to the team too.

Liverpool's still exercising Araujo's performance and consistency. If there will be nothing wrong from his performance, they is likely sending a bid for him to Barcelona. However, will Barcelona let him go when they're also in the crisis of RB? So i think Barcelona may be possible in recalling him because he has tied to Barcelona until 2031 according from his new contract. I think Barcelona is not keen in selling him because it's also a big lose to let someone who is performing again to join in another club.

That makes me to assume Barcelona won't accept 55m offer for him. Liverpool has to send at least 100m+ consider his contract with Barcelona. Anything less than 100m will be rejected by Barcelona because they let one of their player leaves from the club.

I don't think Barcelona is stupid enough to sell him for that cheap price and i believe Araujo still wants to stay at Barcelona consider how long his contract. This sounds too good to be true!

Jose mourinho was able to do that because he his a top manager, and since he left Manchester United I have not seen a coach of that standard. Top players don’t just want to play at top club, but for top managers too, because with that they believe he can help them win trophies. I think Manchester United need to bring in a coach that will help them bring top players to the club.

I don’t know if you have seen Manchester United transfer lately, they bring in players that are available for sale and not players that their clubs want to keep. A big club will take players from other clubs because they can do it. Manchester United problem is far from over, changing of manger is not only the answer.

Manchester United needs to bring in new players. They must, in fact, rebuild their entire defensive line, which will require numerous signings. The defense is their biggest problem many of the errors they make and the defeats they suffer stem from issues in that area. Strengthening the defense might help them reach a better level, but they need to make enough signings during the mid-season transfer window to effectively overhaul the entire squad. Meanwhile, Carrick’s position as manager is looking precarious.
Making major changes to the defense would definitely help. However, I hope the management will keep Carrick for at least one season, or at least wait until after the january transfer window. From what I've seen, Carrick has actually been doing his best, but unfortunately, most of the players, especially the defenders, seem unwilling to put in the effort to protect their own defense. The last match was clear evidence of that.

I also hope that when the transfer window opens, Carrick will be bold enough to go after the defenders the squad really needs.

The management needs to support him in this regard. If the management doesn't provide that support, what can Carrick actually do? If the players fail to fully execute what the manager asks of them, the team will struggle. How did they manage to play so well last year? And how can they be performing so poorly this year? Clearly, there are things that need to be fixed in certain areas.

No! They'll suffer until this set of management and board of trustees in charge of the footballing aspect of the club are all but gone completely.

Louis Van Gaal made complains about them.

Jose Mourinho said something like that about the club.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made mention of how he was not given players he wanted.

I don't think I can take the words of these managers that seriously, though. When most managers are doing a bad job, they will look for someone to blame. The club was poorly run, and even a five-year-old could see that they would suffer. Van Gaal and Moyes did a very bad job, and it's normal for them to look for excuses. Mourinho is a person we all know likes to blame other people. He is either blaming the referee or players, or league management. He has done this in every club he has been in.
Solskjaer was the only manager who actually tried very well during his time in United. But somewhere along the line, he lost the plot.

You are right but there is a issue with what you said: the Manchester United problems are caused by its own management. They are the reason for their own failures. You're right when you say they need to choose a coach and trust him with a long-term project but, at the end of the day, who doesn't give enough time to the coach? The management. And they've been doing this for years and years and years. They never learn.

You're right. The management of the team is responsible for making the decisions. I have been calling them out since. They run that club like amatuers. There were good managers around before they hired Amorim. They are not ready.

This should be the aspect of interest for now. There could be something going behind the scenes that fans are not aware of. This squad had a very good half season from January. So why this sudden disaster? Michael Carrick has to go back to his last season formation and do whatever he was doing last season that kept him above board.

Manchester United is now the subject of ridicule. Benching Bruno Fernandez in this last game was not the best of choice because no matter how poor he performs his presence in the pitch makes better influence in supply the ball to the attack.

I don't think he will survive until January because he still has strong games ahead. 13 games to the end of this year, Chelsea and Roma next. There's a lot to be done in a limited time because the Man U management don't seem to have the patience in this kind of situation.

Well, you have a point. Being a top club only is not enough. Having a top coach compliments it. Even the present day Real Madrid is an example. Real Madrid under Ancelito had a lot of prestige, but when it went to Aroela the standard dropped so badly. Down to Xavi Alonso, it was reducing. Back to Mourinho now, it seems things are starting to gain positives.

I don’t know if you have seen Manchester United transfer lately, they bring in players that are available for sale and not players that their clubs want to keep. A big club will take players from other clubs because they can do it. Manchester United problem is far from over, changing of manger is not only the answer.
You nailed it... There's a big difference between players a club is willing to push out and players that other clubs forces out from their present club with money.

Manchester United scout department needs to be probed right from Pogba transfer time till date.

Biggest problem with United's management is that they fail to make right decision at right time. I have doubts about whether board members have enough experience to run club!

Manchester United provided Ten Hag with record amount of funds, and he brought in lot of new players. You know Red Devils spent huge amounts of money on every transfer. In 3 seasons alone, Ten Hag spent over 600 million. Yet result was zero, there was no improvement in MU's performance. Last season, Carrick was successful. This season, fans expectations were that the new manager would make the team even stronger. But the management made hardly any change except for signing 3 midfielder. I believe that if MU's management had provided Carrick with large fund to buy players, their condition would not have been this pathetic.

It's no lie that Ten Hag was a disaster in every sense. Last season I thought the same thing. I liked how they finished the season, I liked their style of play, and I even thought they'd be fighting City and Arsenal for first place. For me, it's that the players aren't feeling good; there's something in the atmosphere in the locker room, there's discontent, they're not winning anything, neither in the Premier League nor the Champions League. Everything is going wrong for Carrick...

This crisis at Manchester United is deep, but they can get out of it if they play good football, and that's what they need to do. It's not so easy when everyone criticizes you and you've hit rock bottom, but Manchester United can do it.

If I'm going to blame Carrick and failed to blame the club for noticeable signing, I will say that I'm not been fair with my criticism. There is no noticeable signing that Manchester United did last season. I can't remember the last time united spent £100m on a player. Arsenal that won the league didn't do it by magic, they spent money on the players to get what they got. I don't want to talk about Manchester City, they did more than enough and the model speak for itself.

What's confusing about Carrick is how he was able to to do well and finished well with the same team and now things are going the other way round is what surprises everyone. There is none of the players that played last season that is in injury. Some came back from loan to come and work with him, he more than enough squad to do better than what he is doing now. I guess bro is out of ideas.

This is actually a possibility, given what we’ve seen with Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain  both of which are owned by wealthy Arab businessmen. If Manchester United were to undergo a similar sale and be taken over by a wealthy entrepreneur, the club could potentially reach a higher level. In recent years, they haven’t quite managed to achieve what they set out to do. Last season, they showed a strong resurgence, eventually securing a spot in the Champions League, but they haven’t been able to sustain that momentum this year.
