It's no lie that Ten Hag was a disaster in every sense. Last season I thought the same thing. I liked how they finished the season, I liked their style of play, and I even thought they'd be fighting City and Arsenal for first place. For me, it's that the players aren't feeling good; there's something in the atmosphere in the locker room, there's discontent, they're not winning anything, neither in the Premier League nor the Champions League. Everything is going wrong for Carrick...

This crisis at Manchester United is deep, but they can get out of it if they play good football, and that's what they need to do. It's not so easy when everyone criticizes you and you've hit rock bottom, but Manchester United can do it.
The downfall of Manchester United is due to the fact that trust has been lost in the changing room. It is only when the players have lost the luxury of playing in unity that all the tactics break down immediately on the field. Pressure kills the spirit of the side.

The path to redemption is always easy when football is taken back to its essence. The essence of any successful return of great side is always based on the ability to play simple tactics without the fear of doing something wrong.

Although I wouldn't put all the blames on Micheal Carrick because the board is also not releasing funds as they should, so that was another factor that resulted to the bad performance of Manchester United this season.
Now you need to understand that club spending should be less or equal to the revenue they generate. If you look at it, in the most recent time cant you pick point to a reasonable trophy that Manchester United won? So it’s not like the board don’t just want to release any funds or some, they really cannot spend much as of last seasons they were only player the premier league to even the sale of tickets was also not paying as they just played the fewest season of the club.

Manchester United provided Ten Hag with record amount of funds, and he brought in lot of new players. You know Red Devils spent huge amounts of money on every transfer. In 3 seasons alone, Ten Hag spent over 600 million. Yet result was zero, there was no improvement in MU's performance. Last season, Carrick was successful.
Ten Hag just wasted money signing the wrong set of players. The players which he signed didn’t just work him, it was just like a waste of money. I just hope carrick will be given opportunity to sign some players also, I just have to believe in Carrick, Manchester United shouldn’t make the mistake of sacking him.

This season, fans expectations were that the new manager would make the team even stronger. But the management made hardly any change except for signing 3 midfielder. I believe that if MU's management had provided Carrick with large fund to buy players, their condition would not have been this pathetic.
I was surprised when I saw that Manchester United didnt sign much players when the transfer window was open, they didn’t even sign the kind of player’s which I was even expecting. Carrick changed everything in Manchester United, and they should have supported him by allowing him sign some quality players which will improve the team’s performance. Before the season started, I was thinking Manchester United will be fighting to win the premier league this season, but they are struggling at the middle of the table. Seriously Carrick just needs support, he should be allowed to get quality players, and am sure Manchester United performance is going to improve.

Manchester United don't only make money from trophy, Manchester United is one of the most followed team in the world with millions of fans globally.
Football clubs make revenue from tickets sales,  sport outfits and merchandise, sponsorships and these are what Manchester United have in abundance, I understand that they are in debt but so are other clubs in the world too.

Manchester United are among the biggest team in England and this have been right from history. Manchester United won major trophies and decorated themselves as of the prestigious EPL club but can we say same for them today? Ofcourse not because they're no longer winning and competing for titles rather they're now succumbing to average results and losses.

Manchester United just need to upgrade and make more better attacking on the pitch and the should be clinical with their chances because losses will only drag the club's backwards. They have a target and one of them is making sure they're competing and letting themselves known to be serious club.

I think they make a lot of money from their massive ticket sales as a club. Also they do get lucrative sponsorship deals from big brands so they can still spend money without getting punished for financial fiar play. The excuse about trading with caution with their financial spending as a reason for not signing quality players I don't think is valid. They're performing poorly, they should be able to improve the squads depth and quality.

Manchester United is certainly one of those very famous teams in England, but we can only say that lately for a very long time they haven't won anything and have fallen into oblivion, but they just have to find the confidence and believe that they can come back and rise again and play like they used to, they can do it!!

It looks like you might have to look up at the clubs that generated most revenue even last season when Manchester United were playing just the premier league, yes you are right that they haven’t won any trophy for a long while and that has definitely affected their revenue generation because we know that winning trophies are the easiest way to inflate revenue. But let’s be clear that a club like Manchester United definitely has other great means of generating revenues aside even ticket sales which is the sponsorship deals and we know that Manchester United does get sponsorships deals even at their lows.

Do you know that even Ipswich spent more money than Manchester United this summer? My problem is not even Manchester United spending less of recent but not spending wise, look at clubs like Chelsea they usually do offload their players and then sign new ones, but you see Manchester United hanging on to old players until they cannot sell them which is what is even growing their wage load

Some people don't know what financial fair play is about. This is the same thing Manchester City is favung in court today. They spent more than they earned as their revenues and now the club is having more than 100 charges to clear. It's possible that the club has more than enough as revenue generated with the 3 midfielders they bought last season, the idea of signing big players may looks like a mistake in their end that's why they didn't release much money for Carrick. What if they spent millions of £ last season and yet nothing changes.

They need to learn from what Micheal Arteta did for Arsenal, he came second in the Premier League for Arsenal before he was given large sum to buy the likes of Declan and Eze and now the club has bring in more than what was spent since he took over the role.

I get what you saying but another big problem Manchester United is facing when it comes to transfer is not being able to sell the players they don’t need. And the few ones that are able to move away are either on loan or not getting a good fee for them. Just look at the likes of Zirkzee, Dalot and so many others at the club that they can’t get to sell, even Rashford.

It all goes down to the wages structure at the club. Chelsea are being Able to sell of players they don’t want because theses players wages are affordable, even for smaller clubs. Manchester United needs to start getting these wages right. A lot of players at Manchester United earning 200 plus.

Ipswich aren't the only club that spent more than Manchester United on transfers this summer. Hull City and Brighton are also on that list, as is Tottenham, who haven't been in the best form lately. Tottenham for comparison, spent around £300 million on transfers, compared to United's £145 million. Arsenal spent around £190 million, that's not much more than United, but I think Arsenal already have a well established squad that perhaps only needs a few tweaks. Maybe Manchester United's board also believed that the current squad was capable of achieving more.

That aside, the Glaziers are the major problems of Manchester United, they’re so self centered cause regardless of whether they make less revenue they still collect dividends every year and have refused to clear their debt of about a billion which hinders them from injecting cash when necessary.

See how it looks ex players like Ronaldo to open up about their poor infrastructures and facilities before they had to do something about it, those people don't care about sportsmanship, they're there for business and don't really care. INEOS are even the worst, i thought things would changed after they came in but they're incompetent, Manchester United needsm new owners, that's just it.

When salaries are this high, there may be no suitors for the players. Likely, only clubs from Saudi Arabia could afford such wages. While other teams could technically cover them, major European clubs have no desire to acquire a player who has fallen out of favor at Manchester United and they certainly don’t want to take on the risk associated with such a high salary. Manchester United needs to shift this strategy, especially given that the club’s management has faced heavy criticism in recent years over the signings they have made.

Fabrizio just announced that the "Man United hierarchy decided to give him more time [source]" and I think this could mean he's going to get at least another transfer window to resolve some issues before the next evaluation.
- FWIW, I had a feeling they'd go downhill as soon as they qualified for the UCL (it's a recurring pattern).

If Carrick sign the right players when the transfer window is opened, we will see great improvement in the team and that will put them in a better position on the table. Let's hope that it works our for him if not, he might not be given another chance if he fails after signing those new players.

Carrick has to play a lot on the fact that the old manager made a mess, Manchester United must have the patience to see some fruit, which will arrive sooner or later, however the team has very important names and i think that some positive results will arrive in the end, we need to be patient a little.

I also don't think that sacking Michael Carrick is the solution to Manchester United’s problem. Manchester United’s problem is .ore than just the manager,  they have got an average team and the board are not doing anything to improve it. I think the major problem is the board. I have mentioned here before that Manchester United needs to realize they are no longer the team they used to be during the time of Sir Alex Ferguson,  so they need to realize that they need to rebuild again to get back to thay level, so sacking Michael Carrick will not solve the issue,  rather they should trust in him and give him the finance he needs to build a formidable team that can compete for the Premier League.

I just hope carrick will be given opportunity to sign some players also, I just have to believe in Carrick, Manchester United shouldn’t make the mistake of sacking him.
I saw the post on X as well, he claims the club management will be giving him more time to try and sort out the team which means his not going to get sacked, the fans that wanted him out will be disappointed with this news of the management giving Carrick more time to handle the team. As they are giving him more time, they should also back it up with funds to enable him sign two or more players in the winter transfer window. You cannot give him more time with the same sets of players. I looked at Manchester United defense, is it that bad that Manchester United cannot afford quality defenders to secure the post, apart from Maguire who is the only defender that's giving his all for the club, I don't see anyone else doing it for the club from the back.

I heard that they're giving him more grace cause sacking him would cost them money and the decision to keep him came from Sir Jim Ratcliffe. When a team is not performing well the headcoach takes the most blames but this time around people who refused to finance transfers and those responsible for the possibility of financing it, including those who makes choices on players to be signed and tactics to be used are all to be blamed, not really the headcoach.

They failed Carrick and shouldn't just embarrass him with a sack later when things doesn't go well cause it's their fault, if they had giving him full support in the transfer window and there’s no improvement then they'll have every reason to sack him. Working with Manchester United’s current owner is a difficult task, maybe that's why Sir Ferguson couldn't stay more longer but retired.

Earlier today, I saw a report that Manchester United management board had decided to allow Michael Carrick remain as the club manager after the back to back defeats to Como and Bournemouth – a decision that most of the club fans aren't happy with.
I don't know why they still believe that he can improve the club's performance and results. But I'll like to read your reactions, do you think Michael Carrick can actually improve?
