On April 18, 2017, Poloniex published an announcement that it is going to delist 17 altcoins. However, there are signs that someone knew about Poloniex’s decision to remove some altcoins before the official announcement on Twitter.

The article talks about "massive selloffs" before the announcement, but the charts before the announcement look like normal trading to me.

Its hard to pinpoint if there is a Inside Trader at Polo. Or who to provided the confidential information and to whom. This is all accusations, But it seems that someone has already earned some money using this situation. . Exactly who is this someone that you are referring in the article?

A massive selloff on Poloniex of a few coins wouldn't really be a new thing.  They have giant pump and dumps 24/7, especially with the kind of weaker/lower trading volume coins that they're taking off.  I really doubt that there's been any insider trading.

Altcoins Delisted From Poloniex are Not Dead and Kicking

7 of 17 altcoin communities, that are going to be delisted from Poloniex, are not dead and have commented on the situation.

After the announcement from Poloniex, each of the cryptocurrencies faced a major price fall. Some of these coins have lost 30-75% of their price in just a couple of hours. Traders and the community were shocked with the list of coins delisted and the fact that there are no explanations of why Poloniex decided to do it.

Didn't they delist more than 10 coins back in January? I'm pretty sure they've done mass delistings before, and that those coins had suspicious pump/dumps back then too. Could just be the same old, same old.

If 30-75% of your coin's price depends on being listed or not at the "pump and dump platform" Poloniex, then your coin is dead or at least deserves to die. These coins have no reason to exist if it were not for the "developers'" profit. There may be some forum posts of some whining bagholders but if you don't like this, then don't invest in this kind of coins.

And if a coin is really alive (like it seems to be the case with CureCoin) then a delistment on Poloniex shouldn't have any effect on the coin's health - only that there will be less pump-and-dump games.

I agree with you, there should be no artificial maintenance of the coin's life. The coin should live thanks to the demand and popularity of users. Poloniex just got rid of unnecessary and dead coins
