BTCbase is a subreddit specifically created for building a database of online and storefront merchants who accept bitcoin.

A lot of businesses post about accepting bitcoin on /r/bitcoin. BTCbase has dedicated members who continually add to the database and encourage others to add as well.
Something bitcoin needs right now is strength and stability in the actual marketplace. Once bitcoin is known for more than just day trading it will become less volatile.
