MSI RX 570 4G Gaming w/ Micron memory =~ 29.45Mh/s

I'm running them at 1140/920 core and 2040/950 mem.

Same performance as my rx470 hynix cards.   Who said Micron memory sucked?

Just  a custom strap that is closer to a 1500 than a 1625.  A few parameters loosened to allow it to get 2050mhz without error.

Almir - I posted my core and mem clocks.  I havent measured watts per card yet because I like to do full 6 card rig TDP's for comparision, and I dont have 6 rx570's yet.

Running smOS with stock clocks and bios.

With a simple bios edit, you can achieve 28+ no problem.  That means 1100 mhz core, 1950 mhz mem, and 1500 strap copy.

Edit 1- sorry, above was for 570.  For 580,  you can get 30+ no problem with 2150 mem and 1750 strap copy.

Could you explain the "strap copy" stuff? I guess you are changing memory timings or something like that? Tongue
Would really appreciate it!

It's kinda funny that my R9 390's are getting 29 mh/s stock! ^^

your R9 i don't think use 115 watt at wall for 30 mhs like 480 Tongue,
about strap copy you need to use polaris editor and copy memory strap from 1750 to 2000 and upload new setting into your gpu bios.

True!
Thanks for reply, I'll give it a go after I've built this last rig! I can't focus properly when GPUs are offline! Tongue
Is there any way to recover if I fuck up when I try copying those straps? My cards do not have dual bios afaik (MSI RX 580 8GB Gaming X).

which bios editor you used??, I used polaris bios editor 1.4.1 but it can't read memory strap entries for my Sapphire RX570 4G Nitro+

dont expect better hash rate unless you tweak your gpus with custom straps/modded bios.

Exactly! That 24 you were getting on your 480 was before strapping and tweaking. So, don't be sad with your 480 because apples to apples, it's very likely going to be a better performer (hash-rate to power ratio) than a 580 as those will use more power but only provide very marginal (if any) higher hash than a relative 480.  There are numerous comparisons hitting youtube where you can see for yourself. The 500 series are simply a re-branding of the 400 series so its not a surprise to most that there is no big gain. In fact, the 470s still seem to be the king of altcoing mining (except for ZEC)... especially with all of the driver issues plaguing miners trying to get 6x500 rigs up and running. Yes, some experts in power management may be able to get their 480's close to the power draw of a 470 but for the vast majority of miners, the current order of best ratios is:  470, 480, 570, 580. Personally, I would be very wary of going gung-ho on 500 series GPUs... especially that power-sucking 580.

Thank you guys for your opinions...main reasons i didn't try tweaking was...extra power draw, more demand on the cards and maybe reduced card life.....like many gpu miners, i'd like to sell 'em out after a year or two...so.. Smiley
