Would be great to fork off before segwit and keep a decentralized litecoin alive that isn't in the hands of a couple people/miners. Any interest?

Doesn't seem like many people in the LTC community are upset with the introduction of segwit. That said considering that new altcoins are introduced regularly you might get some traction from the uninformed. It is open source software and anyone is welcome to copy it anytime they want. Go for it.
