I prefer the bitcoin price to reach that range this year. But looking realistic then I am more optimistic this can happen in the next year. Bitcoin needs a steady rise because it can give confidence to the holders of capital. While a very significant increase will make the market afraid to trust bitcoin when it slumps.

Its barely touching $1300 now but I doubt it will get to $2000 this year. I think most likely $1500 at the end of the year if the trends continue.

But here my thing on the $2000 price. To reach this, I think that USA should introduce a economic policies that could lead to inflation. And we know that if there's an inflation, the interest rate rise. Then it will create an effect where people will look for alternatives that is not to tied any Central Bank. This is what happened to China. With the devaluation of Yuan, Chinese went to bitcoin as an alternative. This is just my speculation.

The most realistic scenario i predict, that the price to 1500-1700 USD would be quite real. Of course it could fall to 950$ per 1 BTC, but again, it will be the matter of time to grow up again.

If we don't make an end to all this scaling nonsense (which isn't very likely as BU is only growing in support), there is no way we will see the $2000 level. I honestly don't mind the price to remain at current levels for the rest of this year (obviously, pump addicts will not agree with this). Mainly due to the fact that in order to justify this level of growth, Bitcoin must be able to handle the demand at least in an appropriate manner (which isn't the case now). Demand for block space exceeds that what Bitcoin can offer right now, and that must change.

I heard that Bic Camera accepted Bitcoin payments in Japan. Most people fail to realize but Bic Camera is really renowned brand in Japan.
This news created amazing marketing impact and mainstream media coverage, this is just a beginning for Japanese bitcoin acceptance.
However it is too soon to tell if bitcoin is only flavor of the month kind of thing or we will see increased demand and as result long-term increase in Bitcoin price.

We cannot exactly say when it is going to happen because of that the cryptocurrency world is something very hard to expect anything from, but we can obviously analyze the current bitcoin situation to choose what are we going to do as a traders.

Personally, I have sold most of my bitcoins, because im not really keen on the idea that it wont stop at 1200$ level, and is going to break it just to go further.
In my opinion, we will see that price going more stable for around 1-2 months, just to see a dump and the price drop somewhere after the vacation.
I expect building it back to 1200$-1300$ area just 3 months before the end of the 2017, to see 1500$ at the new year for some time, just before another drop.

No need to rush things. I am ok with the price reaching $2000 in 2019 as that will give the developers and rebellious pools enough time to find somewhat of a mid way solution that basically everyone (at least the majority) can agree with. After that we'll have the block halving in 2020 which means that the supply will slowly but surely dry out. Either way, I am full bullish (have always been that) and thus keep holding everything.

Next year seems most likely for the price of bitcoins to reach $2000. We are a third of the way through 2017 and the price is just over $1300, so it has too far to go in 8 months this year.

the thing that hardly anyone seems to be mentioning is the removal of china from the market. that's gonna massively change price behaviour. it could be argued that all china was good for since it came into play was suppressing the price. look what happened when it disappeared. if it ever comes back it'll be a pussy of a market.

look beyond the usual places and you'll see ever growing and record highs for localbitcoins and things like the gemini auction are getting bigger every time too. there'll come a point where no exchange bullshit can hold the price back.
