Hi,

This is first post on this forum and have recently started to look into ecoins,

I see feathercoin is the latest edition to come out and I was wondering what's everyone's opinion on it i.e. Will it Sink  or Swim

If its popularity grows, how long would you reckon before BTC-E adds it to there site

My opinion is that don't invest in it. Too much marketing tactics and no real value.

It may have as much value as LTC, and there's probably several hundred early adopters, that helps making it more liquid.

Wouldn't value just be related to perception, and if a person perceive there is a value in it then they will invest in it,

Honestly I think it would take the likes of BTC-E to add it too their site before more people hop on the bandwagon to make some early money

At this stage "perception" is strongly influenced by the currency's technicals. So, FC is roughly the same as LTC, except for early adoption differences.

I think we will have to wait at least until next month to see if it will make it.

I may fork Feathercoin, rename it to Rubbercoin, change the maximum value of total coins and call everyone for mining and trading it.

No, Feathercoin is fork of Litecoin for personal motivation: the difficulty level of LiteCoin mining is so high that make people behind Feathercoin find mining LiteCoin less profitable for them. There is no innovation behind it.

I call it a game, not a cryptocurrency.

A game,
Kinda reason I am interested in this just to see how far I can increase the value I have from the minimum amount tradeable,
Suppose gonna take a while to get enough for min deposit to BTC-E or other

No, Litecoin is fork of Bitecoin for personal motivation: the difficulty level of Bitecoin mining is so high that make people behind Litecoin find mining Bitecoin less profitable for them. There is no innovation behind it.

I don't really understand what it is if it is a "fork" of LTC.   I guess I need to read more.

I'm mining Feathercoin. Not sure that I'm going to get much out of it or anything out of it. But I started mining BTC and trading for LTC 2 months ago when LTC was 0.08 USD. Now LTC is 3.66 USD. It's a gamble. But if your machine is running and mining is cheap as it stands then well it's not going to hurt to jump in and see where the train goes.

Here's another reason Feathercoin will be more popular than Litecoin.

If you search #litecoin in Twitter, you get Bitecoin results instead. FC doesn't have that problem.

Checkmate, LTC.

How many people search Twitter for BTC or LTC? It proves that Feathercoin is name of a game  Grin . No more. Feathercoin will be replaced by RubberCoin which is replaced by RockCoin which is replaced by MyCoin  Tongue

Please be advised that there are many XYcoins built on top of BitCoin source code and provides no additional value. Noone cares about it after several months

Feathercoin has no future

Feathercoin is here to stay, as they are stable, scrypt based (more preferred by people), and they have exactly x4 the value of litecoins, which in their turn has x4 times the value in bitcoins.

Bitcoins = Gold
Litecoins = Silver
Feathercoins = Bronze

There does not have to be exactly 1 cryptocurrensy. In the future I think all stores will accept the major cryptocurrencys, which are just stored in a wallet with multiple adresses for multiple types of cryptocoins. 1 global site where you can exchange all the coins, and you can make payments via smartphone and other electronic devices.

Bitcoin (BTC) Adress: 1EJMCFdJMsNmp9jtSztnwu9yErRj1KAATc
Litecoin (LTC) Adress: LiTakTnY9Qv71GqQbpGpEbN39e5aQyqLGX

Greed gives value to these coins. Back in the days, it was Ponzi and HYIPs. Right now, it's market driven Ponzi, all legal.\

I want some Feathercoin too.
