Hello I hope everyone is OK!

My name is Miguel and i am from Venezuela, I need some help by setting my mini bitcoin farm, i will be using 3 IBM servers to mine (I have currently set one as a test bench make performance tests), its been mining for about a couple of hours and i already have 300+ blocks.

Here is where the help will come handy.

*  I have already created a wallet for myself and I am using EasyMiner V0.65,  I am sure I am mining in a pool as I didn't set any configurations prior to starting the software. do I need to do any? like where do i set my wallet info so i can receive my share from the pool if i ever receive any?

*  Anything anyone can do to help me out would be awesome

Thanks for all your help.

Hi Miguel , I hope you are not mining bitcoins ( because it is useless with your equipment ).

If you do mine bitcoin then please stop and purchase some ASIC miners ( Antminer, Ebit, avalon etc.) or try to find some CPU coins to mine ( use nicehash to determine the most profitable coin for you)

If you are mining altcoins then this is wrong section ( here should be discussed only BITCOIN RELATED STUFF ) ... move your topic to Alt Coin mining section  (to move topic follow the button at bottom left)
Guys there should be able to advice you better.

Just in general (Im not familiar with EasyMiner ) you should provide either your address or your login name via the worker name (should be one of the miner options). If you are not registered on the pool you probably just donating your hasrate to the pool owner (as he has no way how to know whom to pay the earnings)

This, and even better advice than buying ASIC miners is to just buy bitcoin. Your currency value is going near 0 soon so if you buy bitcoin today, you will save value of your FIAT money this way.
Mining is hard, very hard in reality, buying bitcoin is easy go this way.

Agree with both posts above, don't waste money with mining, just buy BTC and HODL.
If you like to waste your money then suit yourself.

You may want to try mining some altcoins with a GPU instead, learn how it works first then see if worth your money and effort.

You will never mine any bitcoins with those IBM servers, because the difficulty is just to high. Some people working at centers where super computers were held, could only mine 12 or so bitcoins and that was many years ago. If you do want to mine, you might use some rigs with fast GPU's and then start mining some smaller Alt coins.

You can then sell those Alt coins for bitcoins, if you want to hold bitcoin. ^smile^

I'll echo some of the statements above. At this point mining bitcoin is not going to be efficient enough to get your money back. The costs of electricity and equipment will be more than the BTC is worth.

However, I would suggest mining some altcoins. This will give you some experience with mining.

Here's what you want to do:

  • Monitor and research some of the new coins coming out. You can do this here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=159.0

  • Find a coin(s) that interests you or you think has potential to get popular. If you can find a good coin to mine and it increases in popularity, you can make some decent BTC. Way more than you ever would by mining BTC.
  • The issue is that you have to get lucky and make sure you mine the right coins. If nothing else, it will be fun Grin

Interesting post. What exactly are IBM servers ? You need asic dude. Also forget Bitcoin mine some altcoins there so many profitable one's right now. Just have a look. Look for early mining rewards it really boosts the coins you collect value. Have a great time and maybe let us know how it goes and want you decide on mining.

I second that opinion. Bitcoin mining is profitable only for the heavy-weights. Some of the altcoins are still having a high return. But you should carefully study the profitability ratios for various altcoins before actually starting any mining venture.

Forget bitcoin mining, look into HDD mining, doesn't take up valuable resources such as electricity, and is gentle on hardware. GPU mining will tear thru your hardware and eat up tons of electricity, which is probably super expensive down there! Burstcoin is a great HDD miner easy to setup. Also, masternodes is software based mining and takes up hardly any resources, I suggest that route. Transfercoin, Syndicatecoin, Chaincoin, all have masternode options, but some are expensive to break into.

BTC mining is only left for people with serious dough to setup expensive ASIC equipment. Like thousands and thousands of $$$

I think you may want to just trade btc instead of mining it
