I claimed my BTX, but I'm wondering what is the model for success of this coin. Sending routine air drops isn't a success model, it's inflation. That seems to be why most are buying. Am I missing something? Are there bigger plans?

SegWit and also Bloom activated since we launched the coin. The Blocksize is 20MB while blocktime, total amount and halving time are similar to BTC. Well the same coin like bitcoin just 100% better and 1000% cheaper well this is the model of success for this coin.

I too thought that the registration was going to be sometime in October. Have the devs officially announced on what is going to happen regarding the registration and the airdrop? Some clarification would be great in this

How to set up solo mining btx?

Unless you got several powerful rigs I really wouldn't recommend to solo mine, chances are you will mine without finding a block for a very long time... days... maybe weeks.
Just use one of the pools listed in the OP.

Paper wallets should work. Exchanges won't work. You need to be in control of your private key.
Just download the latest Bitcore Core (see link in OP) and make sure to have at least 10 BTX in one address to get a 3% airdrop on it.

As long as you have min of 10BTX in your local wallet, you will get your 3% airdrop directly into your wallet.   You don't have to do anything else other than to have that amount of BTX in your wallet.  Keep an eye on the thread for announcement from dev as there are plans to change the drop method at some point.  For now, all remains as stated in the OP.

Please also be sure that you put that 10 BTX or more in ONE single unice address. If you split the coins in several addresses on your local wallet then it won't effect to the Monday airdrops
