I am using mining_proxy.exe (win 7 x64) as the target for a number of my workers that cannot use the Stratum protocol.  Its been working fine for a week or so (with 12 clients).

But I a am noticing now that the stats are not updating on my pool (BTC Guild) and some clients are showing as inactive on the pool site.  The workers show active connections and the proxy output shows the clients using it, but I was wondering if there is a limit on the number of clients that can use mining_proxy simultaneously before things start to get unstable...

Hopefully this is just a reporting error and all my work is actually being done... but does anyone have any light to shed?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, but when I read that - there was no mention of the maximun clients that can use the actual proxy application.  I also found this:
http://mining.bitcoin.cz/mining-proxy-howto  and also did some searching on this forum, but other than a lot of technical jargon (that I find hard to follow) about the Stratum protocol itself, i was unable to find if there was a limit for the proxy app.

There are no errors on the console output for either the miner of the proxy (your link did help me understand the output better), just some weirdness with the pool site statistics.

I guess I will just keep pushing the proxy until it breaks down and report back here what I discover.   Smiley

maybe because there is no limit?

... but other than a lot of technical jargon (that I find hard to follow) about the Stratum protocol itself, ...
so what you are saying it that you are too stupid to mine? have you tried turning it off and on again?

I guess I will just keep pushing the proxy until it breaks down and report back here what I discover.   Smiley
good luck with that... surely it must be someone else's fault!
