Don't know if I am allowed to post a link here, but The Pirate Bay now accepts Litecoin donations. It's on their front page.

Litecoin is breaking through into the mainstream!

That is really cool, I've checked their blog and their forums, absolutely no announcements about btc nor ltc. There is a thread questioning BTC on their forums, that's as far as it goes.

They have a BTC & LTC payment address at the bottom of their homepage.

I wish they would announce these updates, this way people would question what btc and ltc is and learn more about cryptocurrency.

People that have no idea what btc and ltc is are gonna ignore the address's.

I think that's fine. They are thepiratebay, like the biggest source of copyright infringement in the world. It's not their job to promote coins, it wasn't supposed to be this big deal. It's just a way to get some free money and a head nod from people who already know about it.

But a lot of people will notice addresses on the bottom of the page, and will search bitcoin and litecoin i search engines, it will make these coins more popular, especially litecoin which didn't have any major media attention.

People who don't know about Litecoin but know about Bitcoin will see it and wonder what it is. I know there are people like this because my Boss (who once mined Bitcoin years back but stopped) didn't know about Litecoin until i introduced him to it.

It will also make people who hold Bitcoin but are on the fence about Litecoin stand up and take notice.

It's a very positive step in the right direction.

Great response, that's exactly it.  People will get curious which helps adoption.

Hmmm... The Pirate Bay was compromised a few years ago.

Feds seized the individuals and their servers... I find it odd that the site is still in operation.
Call me paranoid......

I will NEVER ask for any kind of funds up front in a buy/sale of anything on bitcointalk.

Call me paranoid......

A. I'm sure they had backups of all servers.
B. I'm sure one of their employees that didn't get busted was well versed in running the site and saw how much money they were raking in and decided to continue it on their own. Or maybe the old owners are still calling the shots from jail like you see on TV!  Cheesy Grin
