Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

No more ATM: http://dollarvigilante.com/blog/2013/5/2/my-official-withdrawal-from-the-bitcoinatm-project.html

Looks like it was only a plan to sell high and rebuy much lower

It's not clear from the post whether the demo is still proceeding, by the other people involved...anyone know?

Anyway it looked like a publicity stunt (to raise newsletter profile & get new subscribers?) from the get-go, it's pretty obvious that the legal frameworks and logistics make this kind of device impossible for the same reasons that there are no EUR/USD unattended bidirectional cash exchange machines anywhere either.

Honestly better than I was expecting.

He hinted at big name partnerships, timeframe for possible release was sooner than I anticipated, the machine looks great and I think he handled himself rather well.

Good shit

Am I spoiled?  Someone with an HD camera should have taped it and it would have been better if he had a direct mic too but hey, it was an interesting presentation for sure.  I hope the San Diego news does a good job with their piece.  Of course, there happens to be some wild fires in the area so the piece might get overlooked if that is the case.

Finally was able to watch all of it.  Very nice job there with the questions and barring any regulations, I hope we can see them soon(ish).

Oh Loaded, who art up in Mt. Gox, hallowed be thy name!  Thy dollars rain, thy will be done, on BTCUSD.  Give us this day our daily 10% 30%, and forgive the bears, as we have bought their bitcoins.  And lead us into quadruple digits

Well worth the painful download to watch, very nice demo and he answered all the questions competently and conservatively without hype or sugarcoating.  I'm now optimistically less skeptical about this project, assuming they can clear the significant regulatory hurdles within their 6-month rollout estimate.  Particularly interesting was their intention to create a Gox competitor.  Best of luck to these guys in their endeavour.
