Lisk vs Ethereum

Somewhere someone says Lisk is #1 competitor to Ethereum. I actually happen to hold about the same amount of both coins in value, and make a simple table to compare.

Lisk seems to aim to be the host of side-chains whereas ETH is the platform of smart-contract.
Lisk so far doesn't have sub-project or forked project where ETH has about 12 I can count.
There's market cap difference as well.

I agree, the reason why ETH can still hold on is because there are a lot of investor supporting ETH from the very beginning and the eth popularity and usage is far better than lisk, lisk is a good alt but still need time to grow, while ETH already set its foot in some gambling site and there are many project planning to implemented ETH as payment

At least until the entethereumalliance alive. But I need the valid proof to prove it.

But my guess Casper PoS will make the price of ethereum worth of hundreds of dollars as a lot of the big companies have become a partnership with ethereum foundation. Some banks already included.

The valid proof is too many forked projects based on ethereum ERC20 tokens.

Ethereum is far far ahead of Lisk, Lisk is Ethereum past. Truly, I'm very disappointed on the level of project on Lisk so far, the team has the needed money to make this work great but is unable to attract good developers to their platform

yeah i agree, there are not 4B invested on ethereum they just multiplied the value of a single coin for the total supply available, which is the wrong way to calculate the real marketcap, you need to look at the volume on exchange and see how many ethereum were actually bought before attempting to do the right math
maybe lisk is not as a bad as the other full ico coin, because you have forging with lisk, and the distribution i remember was good, but i don't think it pose any competition with ethereum

Etherum is much more good altcoin than lisk, ETH have done many time and have many good project that succesfully launced also ETH can use now in many gambling sites here and can play casino using Etherum currency. Lisk is also good altcoin i usually buy lisk when it came up in 20k and hold it for the future

Lisk vs ethereum is a classic case of delivery on ground and delivery on paper. While evaluating distributed platforms. I believe these are the key indicators one need to look for.

1. Killer App: Does the platform has one killer app which can create a sustainable strategic moat. Think Bitcoin --> payments, Ethereum --> ICO. Lisk does not have one yet they need to find one quickly hype and good PR can take you not very far especially when you are fighting against people who are also good at PR

2. Developer Community: I believe Lisk has invested lot of marketing and communication in building a positioning around a developer-friendly JS platform they need to know quickly deliver on real developer engagement and as they say proof of the pudding is in eating, we need to see Lisk dapps very quickly.

I guess we need to see some of the promises with differential sidechain architecture delivered. As far as ethereum they also have problems of their own, so competitors will have opportunities provided they can grab them.

I dont think Lisk can compare with Ethereum, Ethereum will always a winner. Ethereum project have good affect to crypto currency, while Lisk still working on some product with small amount of users.

I do think that as soon as many investors support exactly Ethereum, it is worth dealing with ETH, not Lisk. I do not mean that you must not keep Lisk in your wallets. Simply I bet on ETH in this struggle!

Eterium has not shown good growth for a long time. 5-8% per week. But basically it's about one price. Lisk recently shows good growth. about 27% per week - 10 $. In my wallet, I will not change one for another. I'll keep them together. I think the potential of both currencies is quite high.

If we compare both I would prefer ethereum over lisk. Yeah ethereum is somekinda buggy and has double spend problems but it at least proved itself and when problems happen Vitalik just forks it I guess  Everyone tells this.

Good question. There are lots of other interesting and perspective coins, but if you really want to hear the opinion and comparison of these two ones, lets discuss.
Both of these two crypto coins are worth to be invested in. I don't really know much about the Lisk, I know a bit from my friends. Several of my friends hold it for a long term, but it's just in their list of "20-30 coins for holding". It's price will probably increase some day.

About ETH. Shortly. Great potential, but lots of obstacles. When the whole potential will be relieved - the price will go to the moon.

I just advice you not to compare and buy both and hold.

I don't really think that Lisk will be the Ethereum's best rival but according to my short research, somehow Lisk have a potential to be part of top Altcoin that led by Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash. Maybe someday, next year or next 2 years Lisk will become one of the strongest Crypto-Currency in this arena.

I believe ETH has all the chances to seriously move BTC in 2018. And LISK would take current place of Ethereum if these guys will continue their success.

the reason why ETH is worth higher is not because it is better! but it is only because they ethereum foundation could raise a lot more money in their ICO and they are putting that money to good use. a big part of it was dedicated to bribes and advertisement to hype the coin up and take the market. another big part of it was dedicated to manipulate the market and pump the price of it up and also prevent any possible crashes by placing big buy walls.
the 70+ million ETH premines also helped them a lot.

I think it is safe to say that Ethereum win this match up just because there are a lot of points that credit ethereum not just its stablization. One of the most common arguments won by Ethereum against Lisk is that Lisk (1) doesn't have a team of developers behind it and (2) originated as a failed alt-coin, Crypti that was abandoned by the devs (3) those devs that abandoned Crypti are the Lisk devs so (4) is this just a rebrand? The main difference I see between Ethereum and Lisk here is that Lisk is two guys who rebranded a previous coin that had a pre-sale and delivered nothing while Ethereum has Vitalik Buterin, a large team of well-known, community-engaged, crazy talented developers, and a large community of developers working on the core code (everything is open-source), Dapps, and third-party wallets, etc.

Ethereum is good as compared to Lisk. Ethereum has high growth potential in future and very high demanding as well because many tokens are developing on Ethereum blockchain. Ethereum marketcap is very much high than Lisk. Lisk is also a good altcoin but Lisk is not ready yet, Lisk is still working on some products with not much amount of users. Lisk also have lack of good developers. I think Ethereum is much preferable than Lisk
