Why do you think adopting segwit = to the moon?
Mainly for the hype surrounding it I would imagine will increase the price as it usually always does in Crypto land, then after the hype if it does actually benefit litecoin then perhaps the price will increase. I wouldn't say the moon though, not anytime soon perhaps up towards it's ATH but who knows.

I should admit that segwit is much ado about nothing. It doesn't solve scaling problem but it can drive the price upwards.

An unstainable rise in some way.

segwit does solve other issue like malleability, which litecoin don't need i think, but confidential transaction is a good addition for litcoin, it's not only about capacity read the document of lee about this, regarding the value i think it's normal that there is an increase, good news attract investors and miners on litecoin are pushing the segwit block because they want the value to be higher and make more profit

SegWit will just bring difference, that's it. The expected price increase will depend on the hype that it will build and not directly on SegWit stuffs.

Litecoin doesn't have scaling problem, daily usage of this coin is far lower than bitcoin. Blocks are not filled to the full and tx limit is not reached. But how can you say that SegWit is not solbing scaling problem? I don't know whether Litecoin's SegWit is different but in case of Bitcoin it will increase the range of the actual block size to about 2 to 2.1 MB from 1 MB (depend on the network conditions).

Litecoin will likely dump as SegWit is activated. It will be another case of buy the rumour, sell the news.
Good going though, good for those that bought at $4.

After much hassle, it has now been confirmed that the SegWit protocol will be activated on the Litecoin network by mid-May.
i say it was mostly plans to work up the market and make so many short term profits in the multiple dips they caused and a lot of profit from the big swings. the volume is clearly showing how much litecoin was moved around. Why do you think adopting segwit = to the moon?
first of all is a good news hype, that always leads to a rise. and for a big altcoin such as litecoin that can mean a much bigger rise. on top of that it is a real thing that is happening, it is not like a fake good news. it is a big step forward for a big coin like litecoin to implement Segregated Witness and eventually add lightning network. and that can increase the adoption even by a little bit.

Do you think if the hype for litecoin segwit already ended? My thought if we are still on the early time to see a lot of segwit hype in the future. $20 is possible for the litecoin as segwit already implemented.

Why do you think adopting segwit = to the moon?
It's not so much segwit; but, at the least segwit alone gives LTC 8 times the transactional capacity of BTC and fixes the malleability issue. It's what's coming with the introduction of the Lightning Network and confidential transactions that makes litecoin interesting. Both of these additions are already being worked on and likely announcements regarding potential releases will come in the following weeks after segwit locks in. Additionally, some people are excited about the upcoming addition to coinbase. Will it hit $25, $35 or $55 only time will tell. Like with all things crypto the entire market could crash tomorrow and we'll see greatly lower prices across the entire spectrum. No one knows; but, at least developments with LTC helps to encourage an increased price.

there days there is only good news about litecoin, when i look at the short term charts there seems to be some whales keeping the price down by constantly dumping the price and not letting it go up as soon as it rises a bit. possibly because they want to buy more and keep accumulating. although as !shyliar said above we may never know. but i think the chances of rising up and this being a big accumulation phase is a lot higher than anything else. i am expecting a big rise in near future.

Litecoin will be able to do atomic Bitcoin tx... and act as a cheap, superhighway for BTC. Some of us bought when it was at 0.0088btc and have already sold. The pump happened when the agreement from the miners came out that they'd back segwit.

Here's Charlie Lee in January: https://segwit.org/my-vision-for-segwit-and-lightning-networks-on-litecoin-and-bitcoin-cf95a7ab656bThank you! How do people not understand this? It's not specifically SegWit, but Lightning that will be the huge value add to LTC. BTC scaling is at an impasse and God only knows if or when Bitcoin will scale. Litecoin is proving not to have this issue and so while BTC sits in a deadlock with regards to scaling, LTC (with SegWit plus LN) may now have the ability to offload some of the transaction volume from BTC and allow for the cheap micro transactions. If the market demand for fast, low cost transactions is there, then why wouldn't LTC see increased usage, hence higher prices? It's supply and demand. Why would people use LTC over DASH or ETH? Because LTC has very solid history, high liquidity, and it doesn't have scammy origins like DASH or a history of centralized interventions like ETH. Additionally, Blockstream has had a lot of investment behind it. It can continue development and LTC is the perfect alternative while BTC scaling mess gets resolved.

Exactly. Litecoin didn't reached its max limits in terms of transaction I don't know why are they implementing SegWit on it. But I have to say that SegWit successfully adopting in Litecoin doesn't mean that it will be successful in bitcoin as well.
