Now that the pressure of invasion looms for the north perhaps they will re-think their agitation and threat strategy. I don't understand why this country would go against the entire world. Not everything they say is true. I think that a lot of Koreans will be very happy if Kim will be destroyed. Even some of the Koreans have no idea how to live without God-Kim. And some part will try to defend their position near the public trough. I'm sure that a desperate resistance will be gone. Their rosy dreams have already been destroyed.

Yea they made progress in years, but not recent. Taepdong has been in development for 30 years and is still not ready. They proved it with that recent failure. Sure, they can launch on Japan South Korea or China, but all those countries have defense systems ready with Korea and Japan using US made THAAD. Also NK have a very limited number of nuclear warheads and they don't have their own defense system. Most of these systems in operation today are made by countries that don't support NK like USA, China, Israel and the EU. The only country that might supply them is Russia.

No rocket North Korea is not capable of reaching the United States. In addition, even if the design of these rockets was allowed to do it they will not be able to overcome missile defense system. Only an idiot like Kim can say that if the United States it will attack it will hit other States.

It clearly says theoretical range. Right now their missiles can't even reach half of that distance, even better they can't launch them without problems. Their guiding systems are also crap, tests have proven that they can't aim properly on short distances and it's even harder over longer distances.
The most important part is that they have only a few of them and the USA will know about the launch long before the missiles can reach their targets and intercept them, which should be fairly easy because NK needs to fire from a stationary site and they have only 1. So they have to fire a missile, load another one and repeat. The USA can launch numerous long range missiles at once and also have nuclear bombers. It's not even comparable.

If action was to be taken, then it should have been done during the 1990s, when the DPRK was developing the nuclear bombs. Now it is too late. They are having more than 50 nuclear weapons, and analysts suspect that they have even managed to assemble Hydrogen bombs.
