Do they disconnect from current pool, connect to their pool, and mine, or do they have faster way of "switching"?

Which one is right?

What happen to Claymore? What method does he use?

no need to disconnect the main stratum connection

a second stratum connection to the dev fee pool is opened on demand for most dev fee miners, though claymore-xmr keeps the two connections open all the time

I am thinking of making a program that will automatically pick the best miner and the best algorithm and run it. I want to collect some dev fee. Looks like I can't do it efficiently.
